I think a great way to introduce iodine (also, chlorophyll, minerals, vitamins) and overcome Grave's disease is sprinkling dehydrated seaweed on your salad. Dehydrated seaweed has many health benefits and will balance the body with the essential missing nutrients causing Grave's disease. Dr. Brownstein has some excellent reading material about thyroid disorders (I have no affiliation) and h

Jgunn, I have been reading tons of information about how unpasteurized-fermentented=-organic miso has this tremendous ability to heal cancer. I'm not sure where it lies on the spectrum of non-cooked/raw etc, but it may be beneficial.

I like the Omega single auger 8003/8005/8006. I personally have the 8003 and it does a great job on almost everything! I never tried to do wheatgrass on it. The price is also manageable.

What do you plan to achieve with a water fast? I feel the purpose of a water fast is to allow your body to focus its energy on doing one thing: healing. By eliminating all extra-tasks for the body to try to control (most cases are freedom from digestion) your body does not have to multi-task, thus increasing the healing process. In the case of exercising extraneously, the typical freedoms

Thanks Tamukkha, I was coming around to that! I always love a nice glass of warm lemon water in the morning before I eat breakfast to help balance my system out! James, I'm still curious to see what you consider 'way' alkaline and 'super' acidic. I haven't checked mine for awhile but the variation wasn't too drastic, however, there was a difference between a.m. and p.m. If I come across l

Under Our Skin is a title of a movie about individuals who have Lyme disease. The movie made me emotional watching it because these people who were bit by a tick, had to make major adjustments to their lives. They went from typical functioning individuals to feeling trapped in their own body with no support from the medical community. Some people in the movie were even bed ridden and couldn't

I've been investigating Lyme disease for awhile now, so I decided to purchase "Under Our Skin." Has anyone else seen this documentary? I've been following the Lyme community for awhile now, so I wasn't exactly surprised in what I saw. With that being said, I was still captured and drawn in to this movie. It really hit close to home and is very emotional. The personal stories are

Carl Thompson makes them. Its a solid body bass guitar, it doesn't reverberate like a hollow body instrument. The strings reverb. and the pick-up transduces the acoustic energy into electrical energy.

I don't recommend surgery. I was informing you with the options they most likely will throw at you. They try to make you pick the best of two evils; which is never the case. My friend just went through a resection and he is on Imuran and entecort. I tried to talk him out of it. They told him the same thing you are telling me; they used scare tactics to get him into surgery. Here is what t

So the prior surgery from 2004 is slowing things down? Was your surgery from 2004 a resection? This is very common in strictureplasty. They keep on removing and removing until nothing is left; theoretically that means your problem should be gone too. I'm not advocating this procedure, but they do an innovative technique now to get away from a resection called a side-by-side strictureplasty.

They claim you have inflammation and scar tissue, what were the results of the MRI or imaging technique they used to view the scar tissue? How extensive is the damage? Is there a narrowing of your intestinal tract called strictures? How many? Where were the strictures/scar tissue located in your digestive track? Did they say were you susceptible for perforation of your bowel? I would find

Plainlydressed -- I think you are exactly correct. I am so worried about transitioning slowly, it may be making me worse. I need to really re-think my transition strategy. I wish I had a sebatical from school. Utopian -- My next move was transitioning off of egg yolks and maybe replacing it with avocado (that probably wouldn't combine well either?). I should test eating fruit in the mornin

Before I ask my question, here is my diet. Bare with me, my diet is a work in progress that is slowly progressing to raw. David, I just want to add a few concepts, a few questions, or statements, that may facilitate a great topic piece. New raw foodists will go through a transition period where the body begins to go into 'self cleaning mode'. Eating a large mono meal may not necessarily be a good indicator of compatibility of food to your body. In a way, by reducing the stressors on the body by eating one thi

I have taken digestive enzymes in the past in which they preferred if you froze them if you were not using them. The company said the enzymes are preserved in the cold temperature, but the problem comes in when the enzymes hit moisture. They said make sure the lid is on tight. I don't know if moisture activates them? Fruits naturally have water in them, so I don't know how that would work.

I bought Klein's book and he says that bananas, mango, and papaya fruits are best to eat when your digestive track is in a state of discomfort. He suggests them during the "healing" phase of intestinal issues. I suppose they are less caustic to your intestinal tract so your body can heal itself. They facilitate the healing process by not upsetting the digestive tract rather than 'hea

Light dreamer, I sent you a PM! You could make sun tea instead of boiling the tea. I would be extra careful about cleaning your container though before preparing to make the sun tea. I would hate to see other harmful creatures feeding off the sugar while fermenting the tea! If you find any raw ways to make kombucha let me know too! Good luck!
