Hello...I think your problem with the banana chips is the type of bananas you are using. I purchase whole dried bananas from my health food store that have a chewy consistency. I think this is because the natural sugar and fiber content of the fruit keep them this way. Most other store purchased banana chips, for example the thick kind that are highly sugared and hard, are perhaps made from t

Hi...I live in Northeastern PA, and my produce guys (at the different stores that I go to) are great about discounting fruits and veggies for me. They know that I'm buying to "eat now" or freeze and the sales keep their numbers up. Just talk to these guys/gals and perhaps the store manager. Most people are reasonable. By the way where do you guys live...diana

Hello...Gabrielle Chavez, author of "The Raw Food Gourmet" uses the pulp in her cracker recipes...I wish I had the time to be more specific but she advocates saving the pulp and using it in other recipes...perhaps as a thickening/binding agent...Good Luck...Diana

Hello...I would like to comment on how you felt after you ate the bread and produced the mucus...It sounds like you have wheat/gluten allergies...when a person avoids a certain food and then re-introduces it back into their diet their reaction to the food determines whether or not they have a food intolerance...By the way...those were very encouraging words from Mr. Mason...

Hello...Brown rice and wild rice both sprout...but I keep hearing that raw brown rice soaked and/or sprouted is still not good. The "RAW" recipe book does have a recipe for sprouted rice...it is either brown and/or wild...I can't remember at this moment...but I have seen recipes for both...I have sprouted brown rice myself...I am gluten sensitive so most grains are out for me...even o

About 15 years ago my Reserve unit was stationed at Ft. Gordon, Georgia, in the middle of August...OMG...VERY HOT & VERY HUMID...At that time, in my civilian life, I was working in a health food store and was eating brewers yeast every morning mixed with some other things...which I can't for the life of me remember what else not to mention I was eating at least 75% raw at that time...but anyw

Hello...I had a similar question about a month ago...I wanted to know if brown rice flour was considered a raw food because sometimes if I needed a thickening agent and didn't want to use ground nuts and seeds I thought that I could use the brown rice flour instead...there were quite a few answers that got me a bit confused...I have a feeling that your friend wanted to know about using certain gr

Good Morning Rebecca123...I usually start my blending with the least amount of liquid as possible...also...sometimes the same recipe comes out thicker and sometimes thinner...because the water content of each fruit or veggie varies...it's trial and error...but just start with less liquid and add more as you go...and pulse blend so as not to burn out your motor...

I'll add more to the list as I think of things...OH...let seeds and nuts soak while you are at work and when you get home drain and rinse...pulse blend and add veggies and herbs to make pates or add sweeteners like stevia or dates ect for a sweeter treat...sunnie butter with bananas...the moisture in the nuts and seeds is enough to hold them together after blending so you shouldn't have to add an

Yes I do...I find that most of the recipes in the cookbooks can be made with less of the listed ingredients...for example...This began as a recipe from the cookbook that you mentioned and I didn't have all of the ingrediente either... Tomato sauce...Put the following in a blender or use a hand held blender and put in a tall slender container and pulse blend: 2 cups of chopped tomatoes 2

Hello Niftethrifte...Besides slicing veggies into an angel hair pasta like shape...the spiral slicer is good to slice veggies into thin slices too...they then could be used for little roll ups or to dry into chips...I would like to try a grannie smith apple or a chunk of jicama...maybe later on tonight I will...Diana

Sweating is a normal body process...that is what the hair is there for (or was for...for those of us who shave)...otherwise...a dab of a good quality "Essential OIL" or even better flower scented water should take care of any odor you have...flower scented waters are more gentle and should not irritate your skin...oils are gentle also but the other day I felt like trying on cinnamon oil

I think that it depends on what you eat, what percentage of raw you are, and how long you have been raw...BUT...do you know if you have wheat allergies...your reaction to the cous cous could be that you are allergic to wheat (gluten) besides the fact that it was cooked...also...if you have anything around that requires cooking perhaps it should be brown rice...

From what I understand many people will allow themselves to eat what they want when they want provided that it is raw...the weight usually falls off because what may seem like a lot of food is fiber packed, wholesome, and much easier to digest...somewhat like volumetrics...Diana

Hello...I am glad that you are feeling better. What I meant about mono foods was to take one particular fruit or veggie in what ever quantity that you are going to eat and pulse blend it. This way your body won't have to digest larger pieces of food and eating your food this way will make your overall digestion easier which will cause less discomfort in your abdominal area. Some people eat lik

The other night, after eating fruit for my meals during the day, I was craving salt so I nibbled on a small piece of (kombu) seaweed. My salt craving ended and I felt satisfied. I truly believe that if we are at this level about how we feel regarding our food choices and REALIZE the impact that they have in our beings then I believe that sometimes we need to listen to our bodies and if it sayin

Hello Vegcase...That is a very good question...I've brushed my teeth with baking soda and baking soda toothpastes (like Tom's of Maine) for years because it just seemed that it was a much better idea than regular brands of tooth paste that have a warning on the label...DON"T SWALLOW...not that I am inclined to swallow my tooth paste...but for heavens sake it could happen accidently as it is

Hi...I just read what the both have you had written regarding cramps...I have taken Hylands Mag Phos for about 20 years to reduce cramps. It helps to re-establish the magnesium level in the tissue cells which causes the release of extra sodium that causes the bloating that causes the cramping. Also perhaps eating foods that are more mono yet blended them and making them easier to digest should h

OH...Fresh...one more thing...I think that the fats that are found in fresh foods, fruits and veggies are ample, but the average person from consuming cooked and processed foods can't assimilate what the fresh foods provide...perhaps eventually after detoxing...I feel better about adding this explanation to the last one...Diana

Dear Fresh...When I mentioned that I try to consume a fat in my daily diet...I was talking about flax seed oil, cold pressed olive oil, ect...if I am preparing a recipe, which mine I keep really simple, the oil will come from seeds or nuts...as I am getting older (45 years) I have noticed that my body operates better with the addition of good fats...I've been watching my fat intake for years...my

Hello Sue...any recipes that don't frighten people with lengthy ingredient lists. Perhaps a basic recipe for...tomato sauce...for example...start with tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, sea salt, pulse together...and then add...maybe basil and/or mushrooms and/or parsley and/or ect... I often see recipes that have so many ingredients that the flavors are cancelled out by too many things...Diana
