The topical silica found at Sunfood.com. I wonder about other supplements though... silica was one example, but how do we know that the body is producing what it should be? Does our supplementing many various vitamins and nutrients in smoothies and pills cause the body to slow production without them?

Of course I am pro-vegan, but the reason I say that is because I want to hear the other side. It is necessary to hear the other side so that we can take the whole picture into account and be able to talk about it holistically. I would never want to debate veganism, but I also want to hear what all the reasonings are. I think this helps people who are becoming vegan as well, because they can under

Powerlifter, I am confused. If you wouldn't mind explaining that again. And are you speaking of silica by mouth? I was speaking of topical application, but I'd like to understand your description also. Thanks!!

Do you think that supplementing a certain nutrient may lead the body to believing it does not have to produce it on its own? And that it may begin to stop producing the nutrient because you are feeding it from the outside? One example that got me thinking was silica for the skin, normally your skin should have this and produce it but if you apply it to your skin perhaps it will stop making it

These books give long descriptions as to why it is ok and good to consume animal products. I am sort of stuck as in, If I look at it all from PURELY a health perspective, I'd like to know what the body TRULY wants and how to communicate that to people. What do you all think about these books that talk about animal sources as traditional and necessary for health? And that cholesterol and saturat

This article in NY times this week.. seems backwards to me and it stirs up a lot of issues and questions. If cooked made us evolve and become smart (which I think I believe)... then why is it better for us, now? Is simple cooked food "brain food"? And, he says cooked food (as in simple-not processed) is better for digestion because it uses less energy?? I thought it was the oppo

When I make raw green smoothies, do you guys think I need to worry about absorbing everything effectively? For instance, does all that stuff put together in a smoothie actually cancel some stuff out and make it not absorb? I put a lot in the smoothie and want to get the nutritional benefits of each thing. And, some things I do not think I would know how to eat otherwise. For example: Today

Hey I am looking to meet fellow vegan raw foodies in the D.C. area. It would be great to make some friends my age (20s and 30s) that are into similar things, and hang out in the city! Feel free to PM me

What brand do you use?? The kind I see at most stores is not raw- it doesn't say so on the can (an orange and white can). I don't have time usually to make it myself but I want to buy some that is raw. Can anyone tell me what kind to look for that is 100% raw with no added oil? Thanks. =D

I'd like to use them for my bath. But my refrigerator is too far away and I share a house with roommates. Are they ok to be left without refrigeration in warm bath/shower atmosphere? I recently had a sealed container of ACV in the bath and after awhile I noticed it had formed a gel-like residue within the container, which I filtered out but it was gross. Is this a bad sign, of decay? And what

Hello, all. I am still here, on this raw journey. I stumbled upon a website that explains using turmeric powder daily as a cure for boils and cysts. I have started taking it for my cysts (along with my clean raw diet of course). However, I wonder if there are any negative health effects to taking this much of an herb at once? The remedy calls for 1 tsp. of powder 2-3 times a day, or at least

How do you eat your whole head of lettuce? Is this all in one meal? Or munched throughout the day? It just seems like a lot to me. I am a beginner, but still- I think when I make a big salad it is only about 1/4 of a head of lettuce... hmm

Yes fruits are generally excellent... I am just going to do this to see if anything changes. I have heard that people experience results when sugar is cut, among other things. I am trying all different experiments so this sugar question is really just for the purpose of knowing which fruits are lowest in sugar and how to help this experiment.

How do I know if the fruits and veggies I am buying at the store are considered to be IN SEASON? Is there a good chart or site out there that will tell me? And, if I shop at a small local health food store is it likely that they only sell produce that IS in season?

Hello... I decided to cut back my sugar intake for a little while to see if it helps my skin problems. (This is just a trial phase). That means no bananas for now (except occasionally maybe).. But I am having a hard time determining which fruits are ok to continue consuming (3 or more a day of). I couldn't find a good enough sugar chart and those I did see varied. Are grapefruit, melons, some be

My natural sweating reduced when I cut out all caffeine, alcohol, chemicals in food/drink, and chemicals in body care and household use!! Use no other body proucts!!! Unless it is food-grade. The less toxins you take/absorb through skin= the less you have to release/ sweat out. Deodorant makes me sweat MORE- probably because of the unnatural ingredients... so I do better NOT using anything!

Put some Cayenne pepper in your water with some lemon. Drink it throughout the day. It gets the blood flowing and should induce more sweat.

I've read about cayenne pepper's benefits... and want to start drinking it myself in water, daily for awhile. I think only between 1/4 and 1/10 teaspoon. But MY QUESTION is.... do I use the same cayenne pepper that comes in the seasoning jar to sprinkle on food??? I have some in the pantry... it's sold in the spices aisle? There is no difference, right?

Has anyone ever done the advertised "Acne free in three days" regime by Chris Gibson? I wanted to try it- but don't want to buy the e-book if I don't have to. I have looked into it and found that it consists of an apple fast. And enemas too I think. My acne is terrible and mainly hormonal, and I am wondering if it would work to just eat apples only for 3 days?? Without doing enemas??

I LOVE Larenim Mineral makeup. (Larenim is mineral spelled backwards) Its better than any other mineral makeup (I've tried a lot) and has NO additives, no nano-particles, no nothing. It is smooth and weightless, and is the only makeup I have truly liked. I love the invisi-pore concealer. It is totally natural, chemical free and cruelty free: www.larenim.com You can get it at some Whole foods a

I have family in dentistry and they all say the same general thing: Mouthwash is pretty much a scam. The germs that it is killing is just a temporary fix and they are going to be in your mouth no matter what, they come back as soon as the mouthwash is done rinsing out. Brushing and flossing alone is enough to keep your teeth healthy =) Germs should not be a worry... sometimes there are good g
