Also- Powerlifer, check this out... Let's just suppose that I did go and have a bunch of tests done, and they came up with some terrible diagnosis. What would I do differently than I am doing now? I wouldn't follow any of their "cut, burn or poison protocols," that's for sure. I'd do exactly what I am currently doing. I am definitely no expert, but in a previous career, I worke

I've never made the cheese, but that's an idea for you. Most of the fat from the nut goes to the milk, provided you're blending it and pulverizing it thoroughly. I don't have a fancy nutmilk bag. I've used a kitchen nylon mesh strainer, nylon fabric netting from the fabric store I bought for $1, and now, the easiest, is a nylon mesh lingerie bag that I had and wasn't using. Strained is good, it's

See, it comes and goes. Now, suddenly, I'm feeling better. And it's only been hours since I posted how bad I was feeling. I am inclined to think it's just toxicity, and when I am throwing off more than I can eliminate, I feel sick. I don't think it's food combining. Things just can't get much simpler diet-wise. I upped the psyllium, and fortunately, it's helping a little.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm dissolving a tumor. The smell of my bowel movements is like horendous burnt rubber. It is just dark, thick paste. And nothing about them is fresh, like the food that is going in. Cancer goes unnoticed and undiagnosed for many years. I'm 51 and every family member of mine that has passed away has died of cancer. Not me, though. I'll be the healthy exception. I guess in

haha. Don't be ashamed, powerlifer, I'm in the same boat. But it's great we have all of these new names/people to check out. And I agree with you and Paul, the people on this board are my biggest and my daily inspiration

Wow. That's what's going on with me, and it seems like it comes in waves. I'm almost 2 months raw, and the last 3 weeks 100% raw, and I went from feeling really good to not so great the past few days. I've been vegetarian for many years, and my diet wasn't really that bad, although I'm sure too many refined carbs, and the past 2 years due to intense stress, more wring foods and some alcohol to

GoneBananas- It is so easy to make your own. For some reason it sounded so intimidating, but it is really so simple. I like sunflower seed milk a lot, and it's super cheap to make.

Smoothies. Get your fruit, greens, any superfood /supplements you want to add, blend it up and you're done. I have this daily for at least one meal. It's delicious, super easy and packed with nutrition.

well, I've been thinking about this, and I think mine is still wheatgrass juice. It is so vital and rich in chlorophyll and full of so many nutrients and enzymes. I do believe that grass is such a primary, basic food. It is plentiful and cheap (I grow my own) and hands down my number one superfood that I have relied on for a long time. However, that being said, I started this thread because so

I think I might try this stuff. It looks like there might be a couple of different kinds when I googled it. Would you happen to have a link?

Lately I've started adding more nutrient rich superfoods into my diet. There are so many out there that I'm not really that familiar with. What are your favorites and why?

Hey, Pl- About the caps, I buy my own powdered herbs and then make my own capsules. I have a great little capsule maker that I purchased years ago. Much cheaper and much fresher herbs that way. Some bitters, like bupleurum, I take directly without a cap, Sometimes I take ashwahganha that way, too. Just depends. I hear what you're saying about the bitter herbs, and about nutrient absorption whe

I love schizandra also. When I first started on it a month or so ago, I could hardly tolerate it. It made me so nauseated. I reduced the amount to just one cap, which I felt fine with, now I take 3 in the morning. I love ashwagandha alot also, which I take in the evening. I have not yet delved into the world of mushrooms, but I hear they have many great benefits. I have a new appreciation for

I'm not too familiar with a lot of the raw food leaders and pioneers out there, but recently I am really inspired by David Wolfe. The guy is a trip. He has a ton of energy, is super charismatic, looks like the picture of health, and I agree with his general philosophy. I want to get his book on superfoods.

ok. thanks. I was watching some David Wolfe videos lately, and he said something really interesting about herbs that I really liked. He said something like they are wild plants that we intuitively take to better our health... something like that. And what I took away with me, was a deep knowing that my body will ultimately lead me to the foods and herbs and things it needs. The last few ti

143. Maca Root
I was thinking about adding maca to my smoothies, and read that because it contains glucosinolates, whatever those are, it may interfere with iodine absorption, and cause goiter. I wanted to take it for the high nutritional value and adaptogenic properties, but now I'm a little hesitant. I am looking for thyroid and adrenal support. Does anybody know anything about this?

You can do like the yogis in the Himalayas do: grow your own veggies from sprouts. If you bring some dry legumes and seeds, and some netting or screen, or better, even sprouting jars, you will always have as many fresh organic baby greens as you want. If you can't bring your own food over the border, then secure whatever sproutable stuff you can when you get there. This is a very simple an inexpe

hmmm..interesting. I think my liver is happy, though. I think it's more of an iodine issue for me, because I have seen a lot of improvement with the supplementation.

Excess b12 can build up?? I thought it was water soluble and you just pee out what you don't use? And according to the 80 year old vegan doc that suncloud posted a video of here the other day, he says you really can't max out. That guy takes a lot everyday. Hmmmm..... I'll read more about it. I really don't have a doctor right now.

Hi rawalice- Thanks for your thoughts. Actually, grains are highly over rated nutritionally, and also highly addictive. One thing I do know, is that I do not need any grains. Because of a health challenge I'm working on resolving, I'm adding extra protein, otherwise I would be more than satisfied that a raw vegan diet would be adequate without supplementation. I am taking probably around 3
