I'm thinking of buying a good ice-cream maker, and I read that champion juicer can make ice-creams out of frozen ingredients too. Those who tried making ice-cream in the juicer, how does it come out? Is it close to the real ice-cream? And also, would the juicer be happy if I constantly made ice-cream there, would it not break or wear out this way. One thing I noticed is the champion juicer has pl

You can put your recipes right here, I'm in the process of discovering raw and so looking forward to reading them! As for the problem of giving in to unhealthy eating, I think it helps if you really stop and think why you are going raw. Write it down if you need to. And then see whether the reason for going raw is incompatible with eating unhealthy stuff. It's like giving up smoking. If you do

Today I made this soup with zucchini instead of cucumber as didn't have the latter, and it tastes even better this way if it's at all possible. With cucumber the soup is lighter, more watery, but with zucchini it is a real cream!

Oh that's great thanks phantom, I'll get some of this butter then and get cracking on some of those delicious recipes! I don't think I'll be using it very often or very much, so I'll afford the price for those occasions. Plus it's organic which is good. Happy now, the discovery of this butter is another excuse reason to buy the proper ice-cream maker!

Yes that's what is in question here - the flesh of the older coconuts, not the flesh and the water of the young ones. So is this Artisana butter a different product so far as mature coconuts are concerned? Or could one use it in the recipes which call for the flesh of such mature coconuts?

Cheers BW, what you say about the thick shell makes sense, for this reason i too sometimes buy non-organic food which was grown locally. But im a bit reluctant with foods that come from god knows where in the world. And with coconuts since I've never even tried the thing, I wouldn't be able to tell if the one I bought is good or not! I've googled it a bit and found this: Artisana Raw Coconut

The other thing I wanted to ask: is it ok to taste the bitter just before eating the meal? And if so, for how long shall one "taste" the bitter, before eating the meal and suppressing the taste.

Thanks powerlifer, it's this one I got: Seems to contain powder made from leaves, and when I look at the powder I can see bits of plants there so seems quite natural. I bought 90 capsules, it's gonna last me half my life!! good job the expiry date is good. Where do you keep your powder? I was thinking once I open the capsule perhaps some container would be better rather than closing the c

I got the artichoke delivered today, and not sure how much shall take? I opened one capsule and put the tiniest bit of the powder on my tongue, and oh my is it bitter...... Do I have to take the whole capsule this way, or would this tiniest bit be enough - it still tastes bitter in my mouth!

Sounds to me you were in a negative mood, and your negative experience was partly due to it. If you knew that kids were allowed to the event, you couldn't have really expected anything different. With light sticks or without the kids are very unlikely to sit still and behave in the "organic" manner. You also knew that general public was allowed to the event, and is it really that unexpe

I have to confess I've never eaten a real coconut in my life. I've seen them being sold in supermarkets, but they are brown, hairy and the fact that they never seem to be organic puts me off buying them to try. I use organic raw coconut oil, its cold pressed. And I also drink organic coconut water, but it is flash-pasteurised I'm sure. Oh and dried coconut flakes, no idea if they are cooked or

The more I read about onions and garlic, the more I'm convinced they should remain to be a staple of my diet. Even as a little kid I grew up eating garlic and onions just as they were, raw and unprocessed, most often together with a bowl of soup. This was the tradition in eastern europe where my family lived for a while, and we continued it ever since. You eat that famous red soup and there a

Why canned coconut milk is disgusting? Is it because of cans (lots of nasties leached?) Would it be better if you buy the milk in something like tetrapaks? Or is it because it's heated before being packed (is it?)

Banana, kiwi, apple and 100-150g of leafy greens for breakfast. Or watermelon (lots). Lunch is broccoli, carrot and similar veggies, with nuts or seeds or sprouted beans, plus a salad with tomato, sprouted broccoli, onion, bell pepper (or cucumber, sprouted alfalfa, leafy greens and so on). One brazil nut for selenium. Then snack - couple of fruits, could be anything. Dinner is again br

You very welcome raw artist I'm happy you found it useful!! The eggplant pizzas are indeed good, just don't forget to lemon them and then put on top whatever you wish. The raw food journey is so exciting! And this forum is great too, recently I've been looking at the recipes section and found the best soup ever - just as the OP has described it. Cream of broccoli. I cannot think of anyone who

Its strange but I'm starting to like green smoothies less in less. In the beginning of my raw journey i simply loved them, they were always simple - two fruits and one green - and always seem delicious. But recently it just doesn't feel like smoothie. I still want the banana, lettuce and kiwi, and so today I made the salad out of these ingredients and it was delicious. It is their taste blende

Surely every disease is not cured by raw food. And supplements have labels on them indicating what's inside? I mean you may not understand it when you read it, but rather than being scared off an alternative is simply to go and look it up, what those scientific terms mean. Whereas if you eat a veg no matter how local, unless of course you've grown it yourself, then it's clearly no way of knowi

A new food to add to my "virtually daily" food list: onions. They are so so good for you, I don't eat much usually 1 onion a day, but I love the taste and freshness that they give to the salads. The updated list: handful of sprouted broccoli an apple 2 tsp flax seed a small avocado one brazil nut a small onion

Sky Feather, that nothing happened so far is great, but the problem if it does happen there is a big chance it may be your last: some bacteria are deadly you wouldn't have the time to blink. Why not take a simple supplement of B12, clean safe and with much less guesswork involved?

Made two pizzas using the frozen eggplant last night, as a snack. I put on some almond butter, then chopped asparagus and tomato slices. The eggplant was still spongy and chewy, but it lost it's firmness - so it acted more like a soft taco shell rather than pizza base
