But the point is that no one, to the extent that she is a PERSON, swims down the stream with millions of others. By making choices, whether large or small, we take our lives under our own control. And to that extent all of us are the same, and that is why there is nothing special about raw people.

Yep, and that's precisely why "no matter how hard you try to understand and be understood by your SAD friends, it will never really work." IMO of course

Low TDS is natural for places which are remote from cities with large populations. In UK, you get tap water of 15-20 in rural Scotland, and about 650 in London. In cities smaller than London the TDS is usually around 350. The differences are shocking to say the least. I cannot imagine using tap water for anything other than washing up, unless it's been through our RO filter first.

I think we are forgetting that the question which is asked initially is a pretty innocent conversational "why do you not eat meat?" It's a BBQ we are talking about after all, where people mingle and make chit chat, and we often you chat with someone you don't know and that's why it is natural to talk about things immediately apparent, such as what is on the person's plate. So do you

KidRaw, that is a much better picture of Gillian indeed! Due to a looming deadline I haven't been experimenting with food and recipes recently, instead munching on a few staples such as broccoli soup, sweet potato, cauliflower taboulleh, hummus and similar. But one thing I noticed recently is how happy it feels, compared to the way it felt the previous deadline when I was eating ordinary food. This time I'm not stressed at all, whereas usually I wou

I absolutely disagree. Just because you eat healthy, it doesn't follow that you distance yourself from society. Imo it's in your head, it is because you decide to approach society from the position of the outsider, and not simply because you eat a healthy diet. Some of the things people say here makes me think whether they actually *want* to be outsiders, even if subconsciously, as if it makes

I think there is something to it, i often feel the need for grounding when I'm writing, when the ideas mix up in my head and become elusive, and I correspondingly become restless. Then I get up and walk. If I'm in the office, I walk around the office but it is small and doesn't work that good so i sometimes come out of the office and walk a part of the corridor. And this walking grounds me, I rel

Totally agree that this in no way a statistic, in fact this is why it seemed funny to me: not for a second did it shake my belief that being healthy and eating healthy foods will result in one looking better than otherwise. Thanks Tamukha for explaining about Gillian, it make sense! I think my friend realises that healthy eating is good, and she wants too but finds it difficult to restrict he

P.s. I've just realised in the picture there is an "m" word which must not be named, so the disclaimer is just ignore it as I didn't post the picture to promote animal products or discuss them in any way, but simply because the picture seemed funny to me and made me think, so I shared it.

A friend posted this photo on facebook, i know nigella lawson but no idea who is this gillian mckeith, does she really look that bad? lol It made me laugh partly because I was thinking about something similar recently. I bumped into an oldish article on calories restriction, with photos of current leaders of that movement, and thought to myself geez they are skinny! Guys in particular, I

Who needs books when you have nature? Those who want what books can offer in addition to what nature can offer. TV is no different in this regard. There could be rubbish books just as there could be rubbish TV. But there could be valuable books and valuable TV. Therefore it is not irrational to want the latter!

I simply say that I'm vegetarian. Most people in my environment are accustomed to the existence of vegetarians, and it doesn't surprise them. Every BBQ I've been to had vegetarian options, people simply expect that someone might turn out to be vegetarian and so they prepare. Then its just a matter of saying "I don't feel like having a vegetarian sausage right now", and munch on the s

Thanks Raw4ever! You're right about it being a great season for travelling, pretty much means that even if you come unprepared there will be enough options around to choose from. I like your nickname, IMO this is exactly how the approach to raw food should be: not for a month, or for a year, but for ever. This attitude means that you are still raw even if on occasions you may eat a proportion

IMO it's a sign that you are still addicted to whatever other food you have been eating before raw. Fruits are usually easier in this respect, they are sweet and in this their taste is similar to sweet junk. But usually the same is not true with veggies, and you need time to start liking the taste and texture of them. And here following your cravings whenever they happen to appear or grazing a

I see what you are saying, but in all those cases the gave a reason for the prohibition - I mean they didn't say simply "we are restricting this so that people have one less opportunity to become healthy" That's why I wondered what was the reason this time.

"Is that raw food?" - generally raw food is food which have not been heated over 41C, its that simple About whether your suggested menu is enough, this is very easy to find out. What is the reason given for the restriction? It is because the capsule maker is a health product (if so why restrict it), or because it could be used for something else and they don't want it to be used for that other purpose?
