Science has shown that even plants experience pain, so where do you draw the line? If you inhale air, you kill living forms of bacteria, so then, you must stop breathing to practice what you preach of ahimsa. Right. There's no difference, is there, between killing a plant and killing an animal. This is what passes for deep spiritual commentary these days?

Thank you for the info on where we can get unfortified yeast. I have a relative who takes regular yeast every day and I think he would change over if I told him where he can get the unfortified version.

Based on Walker's alleged "natal day" of "January 28, 1867", which he inscribed on the back of the photo that seems to be in the possession of the Hallelujah Acres Group, his mother would have been only 10 years old when she gave birth to him in the legendary 117+ year age story attributed to him---& he wasn't even her first born! LOL! Anyway, I am more interested

"Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them." That's from the bible, right? I think there's different interpretations of this possible. We have to stop looking at spirit and matter as two different things. Not saying you are doing this, only that Christians seem to do so.

Happy 88th birthday to your husband. He'll probably have a lot more. Read on. Your husband has what in tradional medicine is referred to as a strong constitution. This is something you inherit from your ancestors. It allows you to abuse your body (to a degree) and still survive a long time. In Chinese medicine they say you have an abundance of prenatal "jing". In modern terms, i

"Lou Corona used to win at eating contests. He would eat more pizza than anyone. When he was dying of asthma, the being of Light who visited him, showed him his past and how when he was a boy, he was so abused by his family that he wanted to die. He actually cried out that he wanted to die. He created a deathwish that eventually played out into him winning those eating contests and developin

Seems to me if you have enough minerals in your diet (e.g., Ca & Mg), you will be fine toothwise so long as you aren't consuming things that remove these minerals. It's not what touches your teeth (you can clean them), it's what goes into your digestive system and gets to where it's needed.

Thanks, LV. Will do. In the meantime, here's my limited experience: I bought a bottle of humic acid supplement (Vital Earth) and after a couple of days I had to quit, I felt so awful. They say there's humic acid in shilajit. Apparently it is a chelator, so maybe I have lots of old chemicals stored in me and they were stirred up and not properly discharged. I dunno... I threw the humic

Mother Nature always takes the weakest if there are no artificial methods of saving them. When a plague of one type or another is making the rounds, some exposed to it will live and some will die. The ones who survive, it's because they are tough and worthy of life and passing on their genes. A certain portion of a population will always survive poor living conditions, dirty water, etc. with

Life expectancy was about 40 years not long ago Until antibiotics and other medicines came along, infectious disease claimed the young as well as the old, as did respiratory illness in the big cities. More of the young died then, and the percentage of young people in the population was much greater. Therefore, the life expectancy figure (an abstract thing if you don't take a hard, close loo

All righty. The fat-is-great paleo promoters don't tell you that A. not everyone is suited to a high-fat diet; and B. no one can tolerate a high-fat, low-carb regimen year after year in any case. We crave both. For me, lower-fat is easier than lower-carb. How about you?

If you grow your own beans to maturity (hard in the pod in the fall), they are wonderful and so easy to sprout and/or cook. The beans in the bags in the store are usually a couple years old (at best). There is just no comparison. We eat our hard dry beans at Thanksgiving after harvesting in September and yes, we cook them. Hope I don't get scolded for revealing that I'm not 100% raw.

As I see it, the accusations of tainted products and the company not publicizing Jameth's death are really two different issues. Mike Adams Health Ranger is making them into the same thing.

Did anyone read Kim Sheridan's heartbreaking story of why she wouldn't publicly announce her husband's death? After her crazed grief and inability to accept his death, the sht hit the fan with the claim that Healthforce products were unsafe. Things are really piling up for her. If people are too nice, they die young. Never fails. I used Healthforce products a few years ago and w

The founder of Healthforce products, which Natural News guru Mike Adams claims are poisonous, has passed on. I believe that his diet was partly raw, but he thought that sometimes cooked food is appropriate. However, Mike Adams does not list which particular products are polluted. Rather vague on all this. Decide for yourselves. My own thinking is that where there's smoke there's fire, bu

It is best you visit a practitioner of classical or traditional chinese medicine (or trad. Japanese medicine) and let him prescribe precisely what YOU need. Best to you. Gee, organic1, you don't have to get so upset! I know what the various kinds of gallstone looks like. Also, the gallstones a doctor removes during surgery is not quite the same thing as what you might pass through flushing or spontaneously (this has happened). The same is true of liver flukes and other parasites. After they (parasites) go thru 30 feet of intestine, some are generally broken

Raw sesame seeds are high in antinutrients, which will drain minerals. At least that is what happened to me - I'd get muscle cramps after consuming anything more than 1 teaspoon. However, roasting them and then grinding with salt (gomashio, a Japanese food) did not produce this effect. I guess I'm a weakling and can't handle certain mineral-draining foods. Indeed, I've been somewhat weak right

Nothing to do with raw vs cooked, I don't think. There's tons of info on the Web. We are not a blank slate when we decide to stop eating animal foods or taking supplements: people who've consumed animal products for some years before going 100% vegan will probably have some excess minerals stored in their body and their body will draw on them as needed if these nutrients are not in the diet. Then there's the issue of poor digestion, which I suspect is widespread. Add these d

Thanks, JR, for all the information contained above. I'd not heard of Maynard Murray and his patented sea water solids. It would be nice to know just what technology he devised to keep the high NaCl content from poisoning the soil it's placed on. It would be nice if enough of this stuff could be produced for whole societies, but then, it would require much technology and probably some dam

So are you saying we have to go to the health food store to get supplements? We should be able to improve the quality of the soil we have thru composting and other means to make it adequate and rich enough to grow the food plants that have all of the nutrients we need. Thanks for replying to my comments, RP. No, I'm not necessarily saying you HAVE to get your supplements at the health

A long time ago, people did not know about minerals or proteins or vitamins or antioxidants, etc.; they only knew they felt well if they ate certain things and when they were denied those same foods (from drought, displacement, overpopulation, whatever) they felt unwell - so they migrated. But they had no understanding of precisely what substances made them sick or healthy. And here we are,

. Best of all, send for a test kit and have your soil evaluated! I've got clay soil. It needs things to break up the clay, like sand. I am not sure that adding sand is always the way to go. Organic matter, either already broken down, or at least party so, may be more suitable, though I am hardly an expert. If you wish to be patient, you could just plant a thick crop of, say, long radishes

William, Teff is mucilaginous so you can grow it, without medium, on porous terracotta platters or plant saucers. But you still have to cut the tops off, right? I'm new to growing sprouts vertically like grass, so that's why I'm asking! Tks.

@John Rose: Thanks for your input. I have no dog in this fight, but I do recall reading, ages ago, some literature by a man from the far east who said in effect that human's brains suddenly grew as a result of our planet and solar system, at some point in history, moving into a place under the influence of some celestial body and that the magnetism from this constellation or whatever it is c

There is no relationship between the food we eat and building computers. Some would disagree with that statement, for example Richard Wrangham, who wrote Catching Fire: How Cooking Made Us Human. However, not everyone agreed with him, as you can read at the wikipedia entry, as well as reviews at amazon.com. Following is a brief extract from a naysayer: This is an interesting read. It cert

There's no substitute for minerals. You either take them in through your food; or through a supplement; or in a last ditch attempt to keep you alive your body will steal the mineral in question (whatever it might be) from the least important body part in order to supply the crucial-to-life body part. That's it. About food being a source of certain minerals: you better be certain that it was

It would be a medical marvel if you could somehow cleanse your body to conviently adapt to not requiring only the animal food based nutrients such as vitamin b12, d3, omega-3 DHA, iodine, carnitine/taurine etc. I agree with most of your ideas, but how do you see Iodine as purely an animal-food-based nutrient? If you are growing some of your own food and put an iodine supplement into the soil
