I thought I replied to you Chat. Sorry that I didn't. I'm actually a little worried about calories but mostly worried that I'm not getting enough nutrients. I just am not hungry most of the time. But I know that eventually my body will sort it all out. I'm expecting to experience a lot of detox eventually. The past few days have been overly hectic. We had to drive from San Diego, CA to

I'm doing really well. Yesterday I went to a BBQ and brought tomato bowls (picture below). They went over really well. I made 16 and only 2 were left at the end of the BBQ. And none of my friends questioned my not eating the burgeres. These are people I don't spend much time with except for the person who was hosting. She knew I was raw, everyone else didn't. I love how the people here in

This is interesting because I'm going to a BBQ today and made tomato bowls as my contribution. The way I deal with people who don't understand about my dietary and lifestyle choices is to show them what I like about it. I will sometimes get into the reasons why I'm raw, if asked. I'll sometimes get into the nutritional aspect of it and why I don't eat meat. But mostly I share a raw dish that

I am actually quite active and am outside a lot. I'm not worried about my vit. D levels. As for B-12, I'll have my dr. check that (and all my vitamin/mineral levels) at my next check-up. Thanks for the tip! I totally agree that health is holistic. You have to pay attention to your mind and spirit as well as your body. I've been working on all three. I'm making sure that I get enough slee

Here is something I love to make to bring to potlucks. Even my friends and family who aren't vegan/vegetarian love them. They're easy to make and can be made with whatever veggies you wish. This is how I made the bowls you see in the photo... Ingredients: 8 tomatoes 1/2 yellow squash 1/2 zucchini 1/4 cucumber 2 medium sized carrots 1/3 cup broccoli sprouts Directions: 1.

RAWLION, what about frozen fruits? I love eating frozen fruit in the summer and getting it already cut up is convenient. Though if they're boiled a bit too then I would rather just cut them myself. Would be good to know either way. *hugs and blessings* jayelle

I meant a red bell pepper. I honestly can't handle many spicy foods. I just have a very sensitive palet. So for me, a red bell pepper does give it a bit of a kick. Maybe I should've said "flavorful" instead. lol I used to describe my sensitivity as this: Ketchup burns my mouth a bit. Even "mild" spicy food is a bit much for me. Sorry for the confusion. *hug

RAllen, thank you so much for your well thought out advice. I remember one of the times I was raw I was doing low fat raw vegan. I only ate nuts once in a while and most of my calorie intake was from fruit. I also did a lot of mono eating and that was extremely satisfying. I've been raw only 6 days and the only day I remember being really tired was on day 2 I think. Yesterday I did a fes

Hey rawmango. I tried this once with a workout buddy and it was odd. She always wanted me to e-mail her every single day. Personally that's a little difficult for me sometimes. But e-mailing when you can is better (which sometimes would be every day and sometimes would be once a week). If you want PM me and we'll go from there. *hugs and blessings* Jayelle

I wish there were like buttons on here so I can "like" your recent post. I think it's great that you're feeling so much better. If I had to guess, I would say that your ability to handle the deadline is in part due to the raw foods and in part due to being in a routine. I know that I've found that when I'm raw I'm able to handle stresses better. *hugs and blessings* Jayel

Today is my 6th day raw. I'm feeling pretty good. I haven't been perfect at it, but I'm keeping with it and that's what matters. Yesterday I worked at a music festival (I'm a face painter) and while it was way smaller than advertised and I didn't make as much money as I thought I would, I still had a pretty good time. I did eat some cooked food though. I was doing really well and ver

I've always been a little different. If it's not how I dress then it's how I wear my hair. If it's not about how I eat then it's about what I believe in. Even my hobbies set me a part in a way. Even though I'm so different from my neighbors and even my friends, I never felt like I was an outsider to society. I'm still a part of it. Everyone thinks of society as being everyone following a

Do you have it in your intestines? Candida feeds on sugar. Bacteria feeds on candida. You may want to try acidophilus (probiotics...can be found in most health food stores). It's bacteria that is naturally found in the body. It'll attack those bad yeasties. *hugs and blessings* jayelle

If it doesn't go away I would go to the doctor. Usually I personally avoid doctors but there are times where they are needed.

Thank you Allen. I don't eat a lot of the nut rich foods. It's more like a nibble here or a nibble there. While eating cooked I loved to eat foods that were high in starch because they gave me a really full feeling. I'm trying to wean myself off of that by eating nuts when I get those cravings. It's not something I plan to do long term. Just something to help me transition. What you said

I mean just what I said. It's like I start to eat it and suddenly I just can't bring myself to take another bite. It's as if I'm turned off and not hungry at the same time, even if I'm totally famished. Then I can't seem to bring myself to eat anything for another hour or so. I literally cannot bring myself to eat it, even though I love the taste.

Hi Knugs. I just started on here so I didn't see your post before now. I was just wondering how being raw for 2 weeks went and if it's something you've decided to continue. *hugs* Jayelle

Thank you Allen. Yesterday I was exhausted and I was convinced it was because I didn't eat enough veggies. After my wrap I totally woke up. Usually when I eat I decide by asking myself "What do I need?" The answer that comes to mind is usually what my body needs at that time. I have certain foods that I consider staples for when I'm hungry but don't know what I want. Those i

Thank you Tamukha. Last night I made a collard wrap (put the recipe in the recipe section). I had made two but only ate one. Still it was enough for me and I'm saving the other one for today. I'm going to do as you suggest too and have them as a smoothie mostly. My body just needs to get used to eating them raw again. *hugs and blessings* Jayelle

This is one of my "stone soup" kind of meals. There are so many different veggies you can put in this dish. I usually use just whatever I have on hand. Ingredients: Collard green leaves zucchini broccoli sliver of red bell pepper apple cucumber carrots tomato These are the ingredients I put in mine. I like to add a sliver of bell pepper to things like this to at a

I meant to post last night but didn't get the chance. My husband's birthday was yesterday. He decided to boy us all ice cream to celebrate. I admit I had some of mine. I wish he didn't buy it. For him and the kids fine. For me, I would rather have made some raw banana ice cream. After my few spoonfuls I switched to eating cherries. Cherries are my go to food when I'm really wanting

I'm going to try and not post so much. lol I feel like I'm doing it constantly. That said.... I'm feeling great this morning! Today is my 3rd day totally raw! Woohoo!!! Right now I'm drinking a banana/spinach smoothie with 2 dates thrown in. It's sooooo yummy! My emotions are all over the place. I'm sure my body is already getting rid of toxins which might explain why I was so ang

Do you have a picture of just your eyes so we can see what you're talking about? It could be candida but it might not. Candida is basically yeast. I've heard of babies getting it on their bottom and women getting it under their breasts. It's not unheard of to be found on other parts of the body. The best thing to get rid of it is actually bacteria. Bacteria kills/feeds on yeast. I

Thank you guys. As I said, it's not that I don't like veggies. I was thinking about this last night. I think it's as eagelfly said and has to do with how fiberous they are. I love vegitables. Even when eating cooked I always ate them. I just ate them cooked more. Chat, you were right too. I'm still very addicted to certain foods. The more nut heavy foods I'm eating right now seem to re

I was in a really bad mood just a moment ago. Yelling at the kids for things that didn't require me to yell at them for. Just generally feeling really upset and acting very rude. I'm going to try eat a salad for dinner and get some veggies in me. To cool off I decided to make the fruit salad I've been wanting to make. Good thing too because it looked like the canteloupe was about to go b

I make this delicious salad so many times that even my 7 yo daughter knows how to make it. It is made with pineapple and marinated in pineapple juice which causes the other fruit to take on a slightly tangy flavor. I love to eat it as a desert or snack whenever I'm in the mood for something with a lot of flavor. Friends and family are constantly asking me to bring it to BBQs as a desert as wel

Hi all. I've been having trouble eating my veggies. This has happened in the past when I went raw. It's not that I can't digest them or that I don't like them. I can and I love them. But whenever I begin to sit and eat a nice salad or wrap or something I find myself only able to eat a few bites before I'm done. I just can't get myself to eat another bite. Usually I put it away for later

Because their skins are so thin and not very tough I want to say NO. I've heard recently that many of the seeds that they use now somehow have the pesticide as part of the seed and therefore becomes part of the plant. I don't know if this is bunk or not though. Just something a friend (who is not prone to fits of fancy) told me. She had a hard time finding organic seeds for her vegetable
