"Maggie's Soap Nuts" - Cool! I never heard of them, but that is real interesting. I am going to do some reading on them, 7 most likely make a purchase. I am trying to remove all nasty chemicals from my life that I can, this looks like a step in the right direction. Thanks so much for bring them to my attention.

A sour smoothie - Banana, apple, maybe an orange... Then I will typically add; Grapefruit or lime or lemon or Kiwi or cranberries The taste varies from bitter to tart, depending on the amount of the other ingredients. It usually ends up being one that you sip at, not usually gulping it down!

I don't know about "linear", as in being that noticeable, because to me it gets to a point where "hot is hot", & that isn't discernible to me at very high heat ranges. I typically use right around 40,000 for my dishes/drinks, etc. I do enjoy the "hot" taste, but I don't like it unbearable. I believe I did hear somewhere that the healing properties increase wit

Seeing that alcohol is processed, I cannot see how it could be raw.

Mmmmm....but sounds a bit "sweet" for me! I'm finding I am gravitating towards more "sour" smoothies! Still looks very tasty, though!

I also soak them overnight beforehand. Some sprouts require more than one rinse per day, others do not like excessive rinsing. As suncloud mentioned, the need to be able to drain well, good air circulation. I have done a "ton" of sprouting, and the only time I get moldy ones are when I get too busy for a day or so & neglect to rinse them. Otherwise, they always come out beaut

Cool, I would prefer it to Andrew Zimmern, that's for sure... Nice Johnny Cash tune; As WY mentioned, I believe the name is a bit over the top.

I'm going to try it shortly. I am still reading up on it; I read on another forum where a person cured their abscess, & contributed it to the oil pulling. Very interesting.

I don't know about some of this...In this thread & others, there is talk of destroying the enzymes. Other than heating them, which we all know will kill them, how much integrity is lost otherwise, from using different types of juicers, etc. I kinda feel like it is a minuscule amount, sort of splitting hairs, no?

Hey WY, I had a Sciatic Nerve problem about 2 years ago, which I took care of on my own, no doctors included, lol. Through a series of gradual stretching, especially of the hamstring area, the problem was alleviated. I also made use of a TENS unit (google), which I do personally recommend. They are very beneficial units, in my opinion. Many chiropractors will recommend them as well. Gene

Hi Lee, Yes, do not give in to the SAD. All the others made great points, as always. I cannot really add much more to what they have said. I would definantly suggest going as natural/raw that you possibly can, juice a lot of immune building drinks. Do everything you can to build your body with live foods, it sure can't hurt, and the plus side is that it will most definantly help. Your body

Hi pfviniard, I used to have a Champion years ago, it served me very well. They are built like a tank, impossible to destroy! I also purchased most of the attachments, grain mill, etc. It is very easy to use & cleanup is a snap. Now for the bad...? Well, it does spin at 1450 rpm, pretty fast, which many feel is a bit tough on the enzymes. It is a masticating juicer, which you may know -

At present, I am getting about 6 - 8 hrs. of sleep in a 24 hr. period. I feel pretty refreshed after that. When I am juice fasting, it goes down to maybe 6 hrs. Recently I did a "Master Cleanse" (Lemonade Detox) diet, & during that 10 days I had an insane amount of energy, felt like I could go after about 4 - 5 hrs.! But, after that cleanse was over & I returned to eating

Hi WY, I do not have this juicer, but I have been looking at it, considering a purchase. I browse a lot of different forums, and a poster on another forum mentioned this; "This model was a import the last time I checked and was very costly. The all stainless steal looks great but the gears meshing without a synthetic support could lead to shavings in the juice. They may have figured a wa

LOL, that is a funny vid! Jay has to be okay with it, or he wouldn't have posted it on his site. Yeah, they could have left the underwear part out, but him stabbing at the grapefruit with a knife as suspendedindefinitely mentioned, now that was funny! I also liked the beginning when he towed the rv in with his teeth. "Where's you family now Jay? They're all dead, I outlived them all"

Was it FDR that said "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm a bit fuzzy first thing in the morning! There is nothing like a "New Beginning"; to start fresh, anew, renewed, and with a new zeal, pressing on toward the mark of the high calling... "I think you're right, that we're dealing with something that's really hard to resist: the nature of much of the globalization movement seems to be very well planned and thought out in such a way that it limits how much people can push back. I think we are moving into a new era that is far less democratic than anything we've known in the past. Time will tell." I could not have said t

Thanks for the reply, WY. What I have decided to do is use the froth for smoothies while I am making my juices. It is nutrient rich, & basically pulp free, so I can't see dumping it in the compost pile! Should add some tastiness to my already yummy smoothies!

Hi Lee, Just would like to add; As you may have already done, I would like to suggest to you to search google (example) for phrases like "successful natural als treatment", and other related phrases. Hi kwan, I should elaborate a wee bit on my post; I agree that we should not "grin and bear the "normal" school", but I am also a realist; I will try to influence change wherever possible, but I already know that little will get accomplished. Since the money train/drug companies are pushing everything they want, we have a major uphill battle. I would say that it is possi

What were the "cons", that you referred to? Often times, when a person drastically changes their diet to a completely different way of eating, they will experience a varied amount of detox symptoms, some can be fairly severe. Is it possible that this is what you are referring to?

+1 on what tanawana posted; I feel very much the same - wishful thinking in regards to change, but sadly, I can't see it possibly occurring, ever... ...follow the money, it's all about the money, nothing else matters... Over the last 2 years I heard "Hope & Change"; did I believe any of the hype for a fraction of a second? Yeah, sure I did... >sarcasm<

Hey WY, You may have mentioned in a prev. post, but I don't remember; Which single auger juicer do you have? As I mentioned, I am currently using a newly purchased Samson 6 in 1, & while I do like it, it seems to be a bit "wasteful" on the juicing end... What I mean by that is this; The juice container has a strainer that you put on top of it, and it seems that a good deal of
