Thanks, Jodi! May you have a Happy and prosperous New Year, too. It's been a while since I've been here. My husband has taken over the computer so I don't have much time online anymore. I'm still doing the same old thing: lots of green smoothies, great salads in the evening. I'm eating nuts regularly, too. I'm still doing my exercises and loving it. I got new weights yesterday and used

It's been a while since I've written! I've been fighting urges to eat cooked. Seems like this is just what I'm going through for the last few months. I don't want to say I'm back on track, because every time I do, something happens. To avoid cooked food, like the other day, I just tell myself, "I choose to eat raw food." I keep postponing eating the cooked food and before I know i

It's been a long time, because my Camino browser says this site has a virus. Yet I can get to it at my school and on Foxfire. So, here I am. I'm still drinking lots of green smoothies and eating salads in the evening. I've noticed Raw Gourmet recipes are getting too strong for me, so I'm always toning them down. Maybe that's a good thing. Maybe it's part of my emotional eating and I really

What a great day! I'm taking a mindfulness class and had a great 20 minute meditation this morning. I'm working up to a half hour. The class is wonderful! Food wise, I got some mustard greens for my smoothies today at the farmers market. Right now they're my favorite. Fitday.com says they are high in protein and other good nutrients. Plus, they taste great with pineapple and papaya. Sti

I want to let you all know about a Meditation e-course that Sylvia Boorstien is teaching at . It's called The Liberating Promise of Mindfulness with Sylvia Boorstein and I think will be fun to have some of you in class with me. Mona It is not always the quantity of good things that you do, it is always the quality that counts.Above all, take it one day at a time.

I've been posting at least once a week since 2006 and I don't remember it ever getting this slow. Oh well.... So now I'm still having a lot of issues with anything that has spices added to it. I made a gazpacho last night and left out most of the ingredients. I kept the veggies but no salt or herb, just a little onion powder and garlic powder. I think I liked it better before I added them.

How strange that no body but me has posted on this forum since 9/2. Where is everyone? Here's my latest. Since my illness a few weeks back, I noticed that I can't eat anything with any kind of heat, that is pepper, chili, garlic, onion, etc. Forget the spices. My tongue isn't going for them. They really burn and I can't take it. So, this makes salads different. I still love my bell

There's a high possibility that I may be moving to Sutter Creek in about a month or two. I'm looking for anyone who is in the Sacramento-Sutter Creek area who is raw to either join a support system or start one. Please send me a PM if you are in the area and are interested in meeting. Mona

Jody, thanks for asking about the blog. I've made 2 posts so far, mostly introductions. I'm starting with the spiritual practice of St. Ignatius and his Daily Examen. If you have been to my husband's blog, he posts a lot on the saints whom we both find very interesting. He's interested in the historical aspects and I'm interested in their spirituality. I do plan on writing about raw food,

Thank you, Rangimarie, for your thoughts and wisdom. It's funny you should write what you did, because I'm starting a new blog called La Buscadora about searching for health in the mind, body and spirit. More on that later. It's so easy to focus only on food sometimes. I'm healing quite nicely now and feel much better. I've also noticed that all my previous cravings are gone. I have no desir

You know, I'm amazed by how I'm led to hear the right thing at the right time. As I stated above I was frustrated with all my continuous illnesses. This morning I listening to an old interview of Revvel and Alissa and they talked about detoxing. Pretty much, they said that detox comes from all the illnesses we had that we suppressed sometimes decades ago with drugs or herb remedies. Just trust

Thank you, Trive. The diarrhea and high fever was 2 weeks ago and is over. Now it's a low grade fever, a sore throat and pretty much the feeling of having a cold. I seem to get this a lot, at least several times a year. I'm just really tired of being sick. This is why I went raw in the first place. I admit I'm better in many areas than I was when I started. But I still get these colds all the ti

When I got into raw food, I thought I would detox on occassion, then barely get sick. But I gotta say, I get sick a lot. Not just a one day detox for eating something not raw, but really sick for a week or two at a time. And I've been doing this for 6 years now. I'm drinking more green smoothies in hopes the greens have whatever vitamins or minerals I'm lacking. I got to say, I'm really tired

Thanks, Trive. I'm just getting over some kind of heavy detox. Guess it's from when I went down to 75-80% raw. Anyway, I pretty much slept for a week. OK, not much sleep because I also had diarrhea but I couldn't keep my eyes open. I'm better, back to 100% raw, lots of greens. I'm even juicing right now. I'm trying to get my intestines back to normal. My appetite has also come back. I fa

Thank you for clearing that up WY. Then I'll change the questions to: Do you follow any of her suggestions and guidelines? How closely? Which ones seem to work best for you? Which ones don't seem to work? What modifications have you made to suit your situation? How has it worked for you? I'm only trying to get information. I have the greatest respect for Tonya and have another

The book came out over a year ago now and I remember there was an enthusiastic discussion about it. My questions are for those who decided to follow the program and anyone who tried it. I'm asking these because I'm planning to move back to the US soon and hope to buy the book with the hope of following the program. I'm curious about your experiences on the diet. 1. Are you still following i

Hello Everyone! It's been a while since I've been here. I've been going through another period of strong cravings and falling off the 100% raw food wagon. I'm trying to climb back on. I wonder if it's because I've been eating more simply and missing complex recipes. Or I've been going through a cleansing of those items I've been craving. Or only God knows what the real reason is and I won

So, I'm not good at juice feasting. Actually, it's juicing in general that I'm not good at. My juicer here is terrible and I don't like using it. Can't wait till I'm back in the states where my good juicer is. I'm better at am dry fasting. That seems to work best for me. Plus, I like the results of it. So, I'm back to that. It works with my schedule better. However, I'm making my smoothies re

I joined a Juice Feast that someone named Nika D. on FB is starting on on Fri. She invited others to join her. So I'm preparing my self by getting ready by eating only fruit and some light veggies. No nuts, very little fat. I planted more wheat grass today and hope it will be ready by next week so I can use that, too. I haven't been good about juicing in the past. I'm really hoping that by do

You described me about 6 years ago when I went raw. It took a couple of months of detoxing to stop drinking which was really easier than I expected. I think it's the detoxing that helped. My depression disappeared, too, but I did go get some help with that--not drugs, but learning how to change my perspective in life. Eating raw, even beginning in my 50's, has brought many wonderful changes i

Once again, I'm going through another period of cravings. I keep finding myself in situations where I'm meeting people in restaurants, going to parties where lots of food is around, and am attracted to the smell and appeal of the food. Due to my work, I'm not sure how to get out of going to these events. I would rather stay long, but then they come up to me and tell me they made sure there was
