Yeah!!! I'm home! Flying always means bad food day for me. However, yesterday I dry fasted until 11:00. Today, I'm still dry fasting, but it may be only until 10:30. I have lots of errands to do and I don't know when I'll return home to eat. So, I'm planning to eat watermelon before I leave. Also, yesterday, I had two smoothies, one was banana and mango, the other was banana and papaya. I ha

Wow! It's been a long time since I've been online to write. Still raw except for a couple of samosas I couldn't resist. Anyway, I'm back on track. Miss my juicer. Left it in my home in the Trinity Alps. I decided not to take it to Panama with me. We have too many suitcases as it is. I'll get it when I return to live in the States next year. I'm looking forward to going home and not eat

I’ve had a wonderful week. Went to Boston and got to see my good friend Sharrhan. We hung out at the Boston Common at a play area so my grandchildren were entertain while we adults got to talk. Loved it! Sharrhan and Jonathan looked wonderful and it was terrific to hang out with them. Been trying to stay as much raw as I can. I do well as long as I don’t go to restaurants. However, we

Hi Sharrhan. I finally got back online. I had a GREAT time at the park with you and Jonathan on Sunday. Hopefully, next time I'll be in Malden longer. I could have spent another day chatting with you. I realized there was sooooo much more I wanted to talk about. Love the picture with the cake. What a riot. Take care and hope things continue to go well for you. Love, Mona padrem

I’ve been juicer hunting for the last couple of weeks and finally decided on a Juiceman. It was tough to choose between a Belville, which I might get later anyway, Jack LaLane, and the Juiceman. The phrase “it’s a cinch to clean” won me over. My Black and Decker is a pain to clean. Anyway, I figure it will show up at my daughter’s house by the time I get back from Newark and Boston.

Thanks Sharrhan. I think it might have been more fun to have people guess my age in the photo. One of my friends thought I looked 14 in it. ƒº Hasn¡¦t been easy staying 100% raw lately. I¡¦ve been eating at too many restaurants with friends. I know I could ask for a completely raw dish, but I¡¦m tired of explaining my diet and the looks I get and the billion questions. It¡¦s

Hi Brad. Would you recommend the juicer? If so, why? Just want to know the advantages and disadvantages. This gives me a better idea of what to get. Thanks for your input. Mona

Thanks, everyone, so much for your input. I've tried to post several times in response to some of the ones above but am having computer problems right now. So I'm going to look into Juiceman and Breville. Does Best Buys sell them both? Mona

Jodi, your vitamix broke down? How old was it? I would love to buy a vitamix but don't have the funds to do so. I like Oster, but since I'm traveling I've used whatever blender is in the house. I really like the one I'm using now, a Hamilton Beach. Hope I don't kill it with all my blending, lol. My hosts blend regularly, too. Thanks for the thread. Love, Mona Moments of percep

THank you so much for all your replies. I was thinking about a juiceman, too. I'm looking for something I can use several times a day and will hold up well. Can you buy it at a store or is on line best? Mona

Has anyone tried a Jack LaLane blender? I'm looking into buying a blender and wondered how well it holds up. Also, what would you recommend? Thanks.

Hello, everyone. I've been eating lots of strawberries, bananas, cherries, sprouts, arrugula, other greens, pearl tomatoes and having a wonderful time. I'm going to Newark and Boston next week and am looking forward to that. It's only for a week, but I most likely won't be on line. I wanted to post a picture, but can't seem to figure out how to do it. Any hints? I have a photo of me w

Wow am I feeling GREAT! I'm eatin' raw almost 100% (I'm not so sure about some of the nuts or the vinegar, etc.). I'm walking up and down the Oakland Hills, and doing other exercises. I added jogging when I take my dog out. We jog only on the flatter areas of the streets. Don't want to run up the hills. I started doing face exercises about a month ago. I do see a difference but have a wa

I've been working very hard on sticking to eating raw food this week. I end up in way too many restaurants when I travel and then have no will power. Anyway, I'm back on track and doing good. At this point I'm eating strawberries, kiwi, lots of greens, apples, kale and bananas. The "cold" I had lasted only 4 days. Pretty good. Last time I got sick it lasted 3 weeks. That's

I think eight days is great! My longest fast was only 4 days which I felt good about. Just take it one day at a time, even one hour at a time if neccessary. What I found when I was doing one-day-a-week fast was how important resting was during my fasting day. All my best to you. You can do this. Love, Mona Just for today I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I

I got really sick this week, esp yesterday. Started Sunday with a sore throat, then fever and runny nose. The thing is, the man we're staying with has the same thing; he was sick when we got here. No one else in the house got it. The thing is, I think when I got sick it's due to detoxing the cooked food I've been eating over the last couple of weeks. If I was the only one, then I would know fo

What a wild week. Got to CA with the dog. My raw diet was totally blown. Oh, well. I'm getting back to it now. The people I'm staying with this week let me have free riegn in the kitchen and I have lots of fruit and greens. I got some kale for green smoothies. Tastes great. I don't get kale in Panama so it's a real treat. My smoothies have either pear or grapefruit juice or melon rig

This week I've managed to eat smoothies and lots of salads. Some of my salads are kind of odd since I'm eating everything I can to empty my fridge. I slacked off my exercises a bit. My concentration is on preparaing for my trip. Went to Seder on Friday. My dear friends can't get the idea of me being raw so they bought me some tofutti to dip the veggies in. I brought a huge salad with a lo

What a week. I was able to walk and do the 5 Tibetan rites this week. My goal is at least to exercise 4 to 5 times a week. That's about what my schedule allows right now. What I've noticed is my arms are filling out. I've been super skinny for so long it's really noticable when I'm not so bony. Recently, I was able to get some wheatgrass seeds. They actually grew! Because I don't have a

I'm going to be in Berkeley and San Jose at the end of April through May. Am hoping to meet some raw fooders out there. Please let me know if you're interested in meeting me. I'm active in the Raw Diary section of this forum so you can look up my diary to see who I am. Would love to meet other raw fooders because I'm the only one I know of in Panama City, Panama. Looking forward to hear

Hi Wish, Thank you so much for writing your dairy. I love reading it and hearing about your experience. I feel inspired when I read it and more determined to stay raw. I've been raw for almost 5 years and I'm always tempted. Thank you for sharing. Mona padremickey.blogspot.com Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?

Sharrhan, That sounds so cool. I'm hoping to improve my flute playing while on sabbatical so I can teach intermediate students. I love teaching beginners right now. I have 6 students so far. Too bad I'm leaving them in a couple of weeks. The woodwind teacher's going to take them while I'm gone. I'm still hoping to make it to Malden so we can get together and play flute. I'll practice

I have been sooooo busy trying to get everything ready for our trip to California. What I was wondering, if any of you who read my diary live in the Bay Area? I'll be there for the month of May and am hoping to meet some of you. I am the only raw foodist in the City of Panama. The other one I know if lives in Chiriqui which is by the Costa Rica Boarder. If you would like to get together whil

Hi Wish, Welcome! Sounds like a great goal. I'm so happy you joined us. One thing that helps me stay raw is to ask myself "What do I value most? My health or a few moments of satisfaction of eating (fill in the blank) which could contribute to the cause of the diseases I have when I go off raw food?" I must admit, I got into raw food due to health reasons so that's where my focus

I agree with Suncloud. If you stay raw, that's a great goal in and of itself. Sometimes I think sticking to a regimen like 80-10-10, Quantum eating, juice feasting or any of them is just really really hard. I'm not able to do any of those yet. Normally, I don't follow anyones diet, just my own because I stay raw that way. Sounds like perhaps what you've been doing lately has created opport

Hi Sundance, Sounds like you're doing really well. Once in a while I eat something that's cooked, too. Usually it's artichokes or asparagus. Where in California are you from? I'm from Fresno but lived in the Bay Area for 25 years. Love, Mona F A I T H = Finding Answers In The Heart
