Hi Sundancer, Thanks for the great tip! I'll try it tomorrow. Funny thing, the only part of my hair that looks greasy is the back. The front and sides look clean. Hi Sharrhan! Good to see you here. Love, Mona I am grateful for this minute. My eternity may be in it.

I've missed you, too. I'm still in Panama. I'm trying to work it out so I can go to Malden in Feb for a couple of weeks. Would be great to see you and Jonathan again. Will keep you posted. Have you checked out my diary? I just started it up again. Talk to you later. Love, Mona Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.

Hi Sharrhan, Good to see you on the board again. I'm back, too after a haitus. Great to read about your adventures in eating and spiritual growth. Thanks for introducing us to Mozumdar. I've bookmarked the page and hope to start looking into it more next week. Great to "see" you here. Love, Mona The stillness of God speaks louder than a choir of voices.

It's been a while since I've written. Well, I finished school!!!! Yeah!!!!! The last semester was overwhelming. Now that it's over, I'm free to write again. Last month, I went back to dry fasting the same way I did in the beginning of the year. I'm not counting the days this time. I decided to continue until my birthday in March and evaluate my progress at that time. So far, so good. I s

I watched the Rawkathon video of Cherie Soria and wrote the recipe down for the Greek/Dolma rice salad but can't find the paper I wrote it on. Did anyone here watch it and write it down? I have the other ones, but not this one. I made up my own version of it: wild rice soaked for a couple of days chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, grape leaves. some olive oil, mint, lemon juice, s

I'm back to dry fasting. It seems to work out really well for me. I'm not juicing as much because I have the worst blender in the world. I blend greens then strain them. My juicer leaks most of the time, so I can't even use it right now. The thing is, it's fairly new. When my wonderful Oster juicer died--I tend to go through them--the only one at the store was a Black and Decker. I've had b

Hi Pam, I love sociology. I took 7 sociology classes. College is great. I'm so glad I decided to go. I'm the oldest student in the school and love it. The only thing I still get anxious about are tests. I had 3 exams in the last 3 weeks and put all my energy into studying them. It's the only way I can deal with them. Good luck to you in going. You could major in writing or sociology and m

Hi Pam, Thanks for writing. I'm so happy to hear what I'm experiencing is encouraging. I started eating raw at 51 and feel much healthier now than I did then. I was very sick with hyperthyroid symptoms -- heart palpitations, shaky hands, and others. Plus, I had irritable bowel syndrome, cysts in my breasts, and lots of other problems that may or may not have been connected with my over-ac

Day 87 Dry Fast: I really like how I feel with this. I still have a slight sore throat all the time, but I have more energy most of the time. I notice that my mouth isn't dry like it was when I started, either and the taste is better than it was when I started. My eyes are also clearer than when I started, but still have a long way to go. I've been a slow healer for years, so I have already d

Wow! Thanks for the great info! Never heard of making coconut oil this way. I wonder if my juicer would do this. It's a Black & Decker that my hubby bought me for Christmas one year. Am willing to give it a try. Thanks, again! peace, Mona Courage is the ability to change the familiar.

Greetings everyone, Day 77, Dry Fasting : I’ve been really good about this. My normal DF is 16 hours still with one or two occasions where I ate at 15 1/2 hours or 17 hours. Health-wise, I was doing great until last week. It’s not unusual for me to get sick when I take on a new detox discipline. This time was no different. I had a slight sore throat and headache for a couple of weeks,

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some recipes for fat-free salad dressings. I'm having trouble with olive oil based dressings right now, They're just too oily even when I cut the oil in half. I have wonderful recipes that are nut based, but would really like to add nut- and oil-free dressings to my diet right now. Thanks, Mona If I have the courage to begin, I have the courage to succeed.

DF experiment Day 63: I’ve been able to maintain fasting for 16 hours pretty consistently. I’m dying to eat usually about the 14th hour. From then on I count down until noon, when I have my first meal. Sometimes it’s 11:30, depending on what time I stop eating the night before. I was even able to maintain this during my vacation. I still have a slight sore throat, a head ache and all

Hi Claire, Thanks for the info. That’s really helpful. Like you, I binge on nuts. I can easily eat a half a bag in an afternoon, then feel horrible afterwards, not just because I’m beating myself up about eating that many, but physically. They always give me an upset stomach. It’s while I’m eating them that feels so good and tastes so good. Do you experience anything like that?

DF experiment day 36: You would this would be easier, but nooooooo....... By the 14th hour I’m dying to eat. I’m stubborn/determined and stick it out until the 16th hour unless I’m having lunch with someone and it’s either earlier or later. I’ve been good about not eating any fatty food like nuts, avocado, coconut water until dinner where I have a large salad with a light dressing a

Hi Claire, I've been interested in 80-10-10 for a while, but didn't buy the book, yet. I'm not buying anymore books until I get back to the States next year and I have a long list that keeps getting longer. I just don't want to have to move them. Hope you don't mind my questions. How many pounds of greens does it say to eat a day? What are the basic guidelines? Any suggestions on cutting

16 hr dry fasting experiment, day 23: So far I’m still able to dry fast for around 16 hours. It still fluctuates a bit between 15-17, but 16 seems to be my norm. My tongue is still whitish/yellowish and dry. It even has a flavor. Makes me wonder... My lymph nodes in my neck are going down a bit. I still have a headache on occasion throughout the day and other symptoms of detox. This just

I’m on day 18 of my dry fast mornings. The symptoms I’m feeling are yellow, dry tongue, sore throat, head ache at times, joint aches, and old phlegm. Some days I want to sleep or rest a lot. I remember reading that during a regular water fast, it’s best to fast until the tongue is clean, so that’s what I’m hoping will happen by the end of this 90 day experiment. I’m still e

I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to write in a long time. Since so much talk has been going on about quantum eating, I thought I would give it a partial try for 90 days. That is, dry fasting for 14-16 hours a day. Since I’m NH, and my schedule with my hubby works to eat dinner at later time, say around 7:30 pm, my 8 hours of food and drink tend to be between 12-8, or sometimes,

I've just recently learned about this book and have question about the 14-18 hour dry fast. If you stop eating at 2:00 pm, you can eat again when you wake up in the morning, right? I thought this was the time we were eliminating toxins, and it was best to delay eating until around noon, or wait several hours after we wake up. Just want to clarify this. What reasons does she have for eliminating

Thanks for the great tip, Coco! I wish I had a juicer for it, but I don't. I was also wondering about using it as a grass in my garden. I like the idea of using it to help the soil. Thanks, again. Peace and serenity, Mona We need to share our problems to find our solutions.

Thanks David. I'll try that. Can you eat the grass it grows into? I heard eating grass isn't good for us. I suppose the sprouts would be OK if they don't get that big. Right? Mona The joy is in the journey, so enjoy the ride.

A friend of mine brought me some rye berry seeds that I was planning to use to make dehydrated crackers. Well, I found out when I eat them, I become acidy. It takes almost a week to return to my normal alkaline self. I hate to see the seeds go to waste. So I was wondering about growing the seeds and eating the greens in salads. Has anyone done this? How big do I let it get before I can eat i

Hi Sharrhan, We will miss you. Hope you come back as a regular again soon. Love your posts, love your knowledge, love your gifts you share with us. The song Wonderful World is beautiful. I just bought my first persimmon. I've never eaten one, so I'm wondering: how do I know if it's really ripe? What should I have looked for to find one that's sweet? Are they sweet? What texture should they be? What about the color? Anything special I should have looked for? Do they ripen more when they sit out on the sink? Any info you have on persimmons will be welcomed. Thanks,

Well, it seems as if I'm currently going through a series of unfortunate events. A couple of weeks ago I twisted my right ankle. Then I got in a car accident with the rescue police last Sunday. I was turning left on a quiet street and they, without sirens or lights flashing, decided to go around me on the left and bashed into my door. I'm ok, but I can't use the car right now. The impact did
