Iboga I eat the same way and agree with you. But I'm curious to hear what other's experiences are with 80/10/10. I haven't read the book, but it's on my list. I sense this about to blow up into a debate about other ways to eat. Just wanted to maybe redirect it back on course. Cheers.

I grew up in San Francisco and so keep this in mind with my response. I think a lot of your observations are probably pretty right on, but they haven't been my experience as a woman. My experience has been seeing the gamut of personalities, cultures with not too many differences in gender or pitting one gender against the other. Again it could be I'm not the norm, I don't know. I don't see it

I wonder if my intolerance to nuts and seeds has to do with they're not really raw, even when they're labeled as such. They seem to just stick in my gut if I eat them. Now I only purchase raw, organic sunflower seeds from my food co-op and I don't experience any digestive issues. They must truly be raw. Thanks for all of these wonderful links - I may try the nuts again! I miss almonds...

dinobambino sending healing rays your way. did you have a bicycle or motorcycle accident? you've received great advice. as a fellow formerly broken boned person I just wanted to give you moral support and share that it does get better. i severely broke every bone in my leg/foot in a motorcycle accident, right hand and thumb. I have permanent pins in my thumb and i won't go into the details

I'm also working on reducing my fat intake. I'm not worried about it at the moment, although I certainly feel awful when I overdo it. I take it one day at a time. Coconuts and coconut oil are actually great for ya....and may even help you lose weight, boost metabolism. "Coconut oil is full of healthy benefits. Next to mother’s milk, it is nature’s highest source of medium chain

I agree a fast would probably do you a world of good. When I first started out eating raw foods last year, I loathed salads. I much preferred to put leafy greens etc in a blender and toss in a banana or apple. Now I'm loving big monster salads again and cooling juices like cucumber. It was 101 in my neck of the woods today and I know the weather is also dictating my food choices. Perha

I am pro environment, but I do not agree with not having children. I think you have to consider every alternative to supporting the environment. I also believe it's a personal choice whether or not to have kids and I always thought it was extreme to tell others they shouldn't in order to "save the environment". I respect where you're coming from, I just don't see it or feel it. It al

Hello. I sprouted some buckwheat for the first time 2 days ago and they're really good. I had some with a dinner salad last night and this morning I've been coughing and my nose is running. No other changes in my diet, stress levels or anything. I've never eaten them before and haven't eaten grains for over a year. Intuitively, I think I need to give up wheat and grains entirely now. My bod

Maybe another way to look at this. As I see it your confession is part of your detox. You're releasing that guilt you were hanging onto in your tissues for years perhaps and you've let it go. What a miracle. I really like what everyone has said, especially David. I believe the first step to forgiving yourself is acknowledgement which you've done. Next step is to release the judgement and u

I think it serves a purpose too as you've mentioned Joanne. Honestly this is what keeps me raw also -- sort of as negative reinforcement. 99% is positive as this is a choice for me to be Raw, but I've gotten very sick eating cooked food since becoming a raw foodist. On foods that I used to eat everyday! Like veggie burgers, brown rice and such. They were not fun experiences spending entire e

I've noticed this too powerbraid. At first I thought it was food causing gas as this is what it felt like. Not painful, just a gizzling sensation. Now I know what it is and this is good to know. I swallowed a watermelon seed by accident yesterday at about 3 pm. It came out this morning at 5 am. Sorry to be so graphic, but raw is so cool.

I have really long, snake like anaconda eliminations...no breaks. Especially when I up my greens. They are too huge to float, lol. I'm afraid to flush sometimes. But when they're smaller, they float. Good to know I'm probably losing fat. Yay.

Phantom, congratulations. Your testimony is powerful and inspiring to me. I've come to realize there's not "too much" of anything on this raw food path, including the fats. :-D. I think we're all just moving closer to finding true balance, more importantly what this means for us personally and for our (individual) bodies. There's no cookie cutter formula to attain. Balance, peace

The odor was strong to me at first also. Now I just bury a tablespoon or two in my fruit and green smoothies - can't smell or taste it at all after that. Makes the green smoothies ultra green too. Love it.

I'm kind of ignorant when it comes to sprouts and need to read more about them. So is it not a good thing to eat bean and grain sprouts? I've only tried the mung bean sprouts, but generally stick to sunflower and alfalfa. I was simply thinking they're all living foods, but is there a big difference with seed/nut vs grain & bean sprouts? Just curious about opinions and experiences w

The tomatoes are coming and I just ate 3 big ones from California...locally grown. I refuse to get caught up in this insanity. Phantom, wow, regarding what happened in your place of employment. From your description I picked up pure, unadulterated fear. It's both disturbing and enlightening at the same time...to see the truth that is and how numb and oblivious people are to it. How easily t

A lyer it's hard sometimes when you can see the truth and others do not. I had the same reactions from my family who is SAD when I explained just incorporate more raw foods, fruit and veggies. My Mom is actually good about getting her salads, but she still eats processed junk like ice cream pops and stuff like that...every night. You have done the best you can by sharing, recommending and

I think in the long run you naturally gravitate to eating a simpler raw food diet, which has been the case for me. I don't eat dehydrated foods nor have I experienced a problem eating too many fat or sugars when I transitioned for example. In fact, raw foods helped me kick the sweets habit. If anything if I were to eat cooked vegan again, I have no doubt I would reverse into old chocoholic hab

i prefer greens to sweet fruit these days. my body is continuing to expand and heal and greens is all it seems to want right now. green smoothies and monster salads. i'm especially loving sprout salads. i used to eat a lot of sweet & citrus fruit, but i can only handle apples and oranges 2-3x per week. i generally stick to tomatoes and cucumbers for my fruit. salads are great.

my eyes are dark brown with specks of hazel & green. unless you were right in my face or gazing into my eyes and my boyfriend, the light undertone in my cornea was not always visible. now being 100% raw for a year it seems to be taking over, the aqua-blue that is...even my Mom noticed the other day. i doubt they'll turn completely. oh that would be freaky. don't want to look like halle be
