Anybody have any numbers?
I really would like to do a juice feast right now to help with kicking caffeine and possibly help with GERD.
I should really cut back with the fruits and do more vegetables I think because of acidity. The only problem is that vegetables are less "juicy" and you need to buy more of them to make a juice. That translates to more cost. ugh

Yeah I had just run out of greens, but that would have been a good idea.
The part I'm excited about is breaking my dependence on soy, and not having to use water.

Juiced 5 or 6 strawberries this morning. Threw the juice in a blender with a banana and a mango.
Smoothest smoothie I've ever had. And I didn't have to add water (ick).

So I've been experimenting and doing stuff like this
Juiced 2 or 3 apples, Then threw the apple juice in the blender with a banana and mango. Did the samme thing with 3 apples, then two bananas and 4 strawberries. So the smoothies are completely raw without having to use water or anything. And I'm trying to cut out soymilk.
Maybe I haven't figured out anything new here, but it's not some

I guess I haven't made my question make sense yet. Oh well. Don't know how else to ask!

Well that's a thought.
But what I was getting at was this:
Juice something juiceable (Let's say strawberries or mango)
Dump the juice in a blender and throw in something non-juiceable, like a banana, and blend.
viola - banana mango juice, or something. (and two pieces of equipment to clean up, but oh well)
Alternatively throw the mango in the blender instead of the juicer. Then

So I was thinking about ways to get some of the vitamin content from a juicer recipe and the fiber content of a blended drink.
For example you can't juice a banana (at least not in a centrifugal) but I could juice strawberries, then throw them in a blender with a banana. Maybe a mango too (which I guess could go either way, juice or blender).
Any ideas?

Hi, that's about the same situation I'm in. I need to get some good containers to bring the stuff in. I work 10 hour shifts with no lunch break.

I don't have any advice either but I just wanted to express my moral support. So sorry this happened! Sending virtual hug energy beams your way.

When I discovered Agave I actually preferred it to the Maple syrup, but I used both. The syrup I think is a bit higher in mineral content.

But how much, how soon? Two hours make a difference?

Should I be at all concerned about juicing something and drinking it several hours later as opposed to right away? Am I losing much?
Two scenarios where this comes up:
1) Bringing juice to work
2) Juicing in large quantities and keeping stuff in the fridge. (If I drink too much at once it upsets my esophagus)

106. Re: Raw Camping!
Thanks everyone! I've got some bananas drying right now in my home-built dehydrator. They won't be quite raw-dehydrated becuase it gets too hot in there, but screw it.
I've got some other fruits and nuts as well. Great that you mentioned dandelions David - I was thinking about that.
There will be a water pump nearby. I always joke about this at work. At work I have to walk the length

107. Raw Camping!
Think I'm going to go camping this week. Any suggestions? Think I'll give a go at dehydrating in my homemade dehydrator again. Only problem is it gets a little too hot to be considered "raw" but until I buy a real one it'll have to do.
I can only stuff so much in a cooler to keep cool for 2 days, so I won't really be able to fill up the thing with much produce. Any suggestions?

Wierd thought-things happen when I thought-experiment with those numbers.
According to that article, if "Jim" puts non-raw salad dressing on his one salad, he magically erases 27 percent of his food assimilation for the day.

You're welcome! It's still one of my favorites. Last night I threw in a bunch of romaine too. I didn't even really taste it.

Greensatva,
I am so sorry I didn't reply to your message earlier. I tend to miss this part of the forums.
In vermicomposting systems, most of the worms are left behind when you harvest your compost. This is done by a variety of different methods but usually involves getting the worms to move towards newly added material for them to feast on.
There will inevitably some stragglers, but w

Just remind yourself whenever you eat honey that you're actually eating bee vomit.
Gotta admit that's some tasty vomit though.

If I understand correctly, the vitamix, the mother all juicers, is basically a blender from hell. What you put in is what you end up drinking, just completely liquified? Whether it's a carrot or a 2 by 4?
So what am I missing with my pulp ejection juicer? If I put my 3 carrots and 3 apples and 4 stalks of celery in, am I really getting the equivalent of that in my juice, or close enough to

And then I go "What was that recipe again?"

I use a 1/3rd Compost, 1/3rd vermiculite, and 1/3rd peat moss mix to plant everything. The compost I use is vermicompost My "pet worms" eat my junkmail and food scraps, which include just about everything you mentioned above.
Stuff grows like crazy in this mix. Weed control isn't a problem for me since I make my own soil mixture and don't plant in the ground. I either do contain

Debating whether or not to throw ginger in like I do everything else.

119. Re: Trail Mix
There's plenty of raw stuff you can mix, almonds, walnuts, dates. etc. I do dried cranberries which probably aren't raw (since they are store bought I don't know how hot they are dehydrated).
I've gotten into soaking my almonds and walnuts and such, which is optional. I like the kind of watery crunchiness.
You really really need the salt? I find I don't need it with this stuff at all.
