..still watching the closing ceremonies.. London is up with a "Beiging to London" theme.. what a contrast between cultures and artistic expression. Anyway manmade global warming makes sense to me.. I buy the one meter +/- rise in sea level in the coming century, and lament the loss of polar bear habitat and the erosion of coastal areas.

..watching the closing ceremonies, one of the performances included beautiful circus style unicycles, where the wheel encompased its rider like a flower petal. Did anyone see Jamaican, Usain Bolt, coast across the finish line to win the 100 meter dash in world record time? His Dad attributes his son's speed to eating yams! LOVE the olympics

Sounds like a nice trip! I'm torn whether we are going to have epic flooding caused by the melting of the ice caps, or slip into yet another age of glaciation. If the climate must change I'm hoping for ice.. not all at once though.

Soraya, I think I saw a program on Krav Maga, one of those fight challenge shows meant to compare martial arts styles.. very interesting.... and know what you mean about balancing work and workouts. Your ideas of hand weights are right in the tradition of "improvised use of any objects available" (from a quick google of KM). Sand bags ought to do it.... today I tried holding 2 1/2 l

Soraya, I've been back to the artofstrength site and am impressed by all the equipment in their gym, the martial arts and boxing apparatus especially, also the weights and ropes. What really helped me through the last eight or so years has been "taebo" (cardio/kickboxing) workouts.. so I have a fondness for such places.. oh, and I loved being in the gymnasium in elementary school a

My labrador retreiver was similarly diagnosed years ago before I was into raw. He would eat any raw veggie (except lettuce).. my regret is that I did not give him a steady diet of such foods, instead of a standard cooked diet. All kinds of veggie juices and shredded pulp.. they don't masticate quite like us.

Soraya, I like the "art of strength" site, and the demo "1200" video looks like an intense workout (which I like).. It showed kettlebell AND ropes, ball and other exercises. It's getting me motivated.. I've got my rope out and am going to try some of the moves with some weights on hand to start. I'm excited for you that yours arrives tomorrow!

"In a natural form, Aloe juice (gel) is not very palatable - it is bitter and not exactly a pleasure to swallow, which is probably why it is not usually found mentioned as a healthful drink in our folk medicine repertoires, but rather as an emergency measure or 'heroic' medicine to treat parasitic intestinal or stomach infections." Aloe vera tastes bland to me.. the texture IS nasty
