We had a long thread five years ago when the Andressohns were trying to put together their defense with the help of friends like Dr. Flora. It was unfortunate that the site crashed at the time and all the info was lost. My posts were under my former sig "Tulk". The existence of a congenital defect that may have caused Woyah to become sick seems more than likely in my opinion. Her

Hey Mona, How do I make raw butter with coconut? Good question..my juicer does not claim to be able to "juice" coconuts but that does't stop me This question came up a while back on the juicing board: Re: Almond Milk in Centrifugal Juicer? Posted by: loeve (IP Logged) Date: May 01, 2008 08:26PM Coconut oil: Warm the meat of a mature coconut to at least 76 degrees F.

As far as I know, raw butters are perishable because they have live enzymes and live bacteria. So I make my own mostly out of coconut, which to me is a decent vegan dairy substitute. I've heard some say their local health food store is their favorite source for raw butters. Hope this helps..

"even in the oldest book" This refers to the "book" of Genesis?....this is what an introduction* to the book of Genesis says of it: "...the book is a complex work, not to be attributed to a single original author. Several sources, or literary traditions, that the final redactor used in his composition are discernible. These are the Yahwist, Elohist and Priestly so

Keepitsimple wrote re Robert Young's "scientific" research : "...becuase of sugar content fruit is acidic." Robert O. Young does say this about certain "sweet" fruit. I would have to read the studies to see what fruits were studied, whether raw or not (Young knows the difference), if they were combined with other food and on what type of eater (probably cooked f

"Does making smoothies OR making juice from greens make them easier or more difficult to digest?" ..I've done green smoothies and green juices..both methods help digestion imo. Juicing greens is the easiest way for me to eat lots of them..and I almost always opt to eat the pulp salad which is basically shredded greens. Aloe vera is supposed to be good for ibs. I buy it in whole

Just carrots alone not really..these juicers do carrots very well and leave a dry pulp which I prefer with pulped leafy greens (which are still juicy). I like to mix the flavors..sweet potato and coconut is another combo..most often with 1/2 lb. of greens, kale being my favorite....a whole lb. of greens maybe a bit much.

Coconut oil: Warm the meat of a mature coconut to at least 76 degrees F. (melting point of its oil) and juice. Running soaked almonds through a centrifugal just might give you some nice results if you run a cup of warm water through with them. Some will get spit out but it will be as a course almond flour which is also pretty useful. I do this with mature coconut when I want coconut milk/butter/oil/flour. The cored apple trick I can relate to. Sometimes I'll roll seeds in kale then juice it like t

"Traditionally the leaves are cut and taken to a processing facility as quickly as possible, and ideally, in a refrigerated truck. Here the leaves are filleted by hand to remove the outer, green skin. However, unfortunately most of the beneficial compounds are concentrated just beneath that outer skin. Thus, filleting removes these compounds and discards them along with the skin. More eff

A truely raw viable nut will stay fresh for a while after soaking and may even show signs of wanting to sprout. A "dead" nut will not keep long after being soaked in my experience. Cracking coconuts depends on whether you got a young one or a brown one, and how you plan to extract the meat after open. In any case I like to drain the water first by puncturing the SOFT "eye"

aloe vera CAN taste good depending on the variety--so I've heard..the only variety I have tried is bland and tasteless in my green juices where it is a minor herbal ingredient amounting to about 15% by wieght..meant more as a tonic than for the flavor..and in whole leaf form as is my way.. does the skin look nutricious to you? have you tried tasting one? do you just hate to throw it away?

does sound good....re the drying of seeds: "Harvesting of chickpeas can take place when the seed moisture is 18%. It may test dry after harvest, but it takes some time for the moisture in the large seed to equalize across the entire seed." ..those of us who have grown pulses in our gardens have seen first hand how the plant naturally dries the seed within the pod when the seed
