In Mexico they add aloe vera to smoothies.. you can scoop out the gel or use the skin as well, imo. I buy kilo sized aloe vera leafs at the grocer.. they've never had a laxative effect on me.. who eats it as just another veggie for health

It was my understanding that the classic bulls-eye mark appears right where the tick has bitten you.. and appears anywhere from a few days to a month from the time of the bite. Yes, three years ago I came down with Bells Palsy.. living in a place where Lyme Disease is endemic and recollecting a tick bite several months prior made a self diagnosis pretty sure. I googled treatments and found none that I thought would help what I believed to be a somewhat advanced case (where the bacteria were attacking my nervous system). A quick visit to my optometrist helped a little w

Sure seems that way. "A half of a large watermelon" holds about 12 cups of water. Drinking that much plain water could also be considered a "powerful diuretic". The difference is t

From the article: "More citrulline - about 60 percent - is found in watermelon rind than in the flesh, Patil said, but that can vary. But scientists may be able to find ways to boost the concentrations in the flesh, he said." This morning I had a tall glass of watermelon rind juice, followed by a great BM and a RELAXED and satisfying 5K "4th of July" morning road race.

O.K. so lots of fruits and veggies like to be stored at VERY cool temps which you may not find in the tropics.... in a "moderately WARM and dry" root cellar you can store: Dry hot peppers Pumpkins Winter squash Sweet potatoes Green tomatoes (up to 70 degrees F is OK)

Yes, root cellars take advantage of the cooling effect of the earth (in almost any local?) The last root cellar I worked on was in New England, USA, built in a crawl space and made uninsulated and circular (8' diameter) out of mortared brick (to hold back the sandy soil).. and accessed by a floor hatch and ladder. Temperatures in the root cellar in the 30's (F.) and 40's could be expected in t

I own the Jack LaLanne juicer. It juices the things I like; kale, carrots and coconut reasonably well and leaves me with a juicy pulp salad which I like.. so it works for me. The juicer could use more power.. when juicing tough veggies it can jam or go out of kilter causing the basket to chafe or the blades to scrape the bottom of the plastic chute resulting in plastic in the juice.. a waste.

I used to grind my teeth in my sleep, and still have occasional clicking and soreness. Melons maybe?.. they are supposed to be mood enhancing and hydrating.. maybe helping with stress (one of my triggers for TMJ).... and juiced of course when it feels like I've been hit in the side of the face with a baseball bat

In my post of May 25th I meant to provide a link to photographs of Todd Bentley's tattoos, the question being "are the tattoos demonic?".. just as well?.. it is personal stuff which is easily googled for anyone interested. It is too bad Todd had to document (my take) such a personal thing, but in the face of criticism for shedding his suit for tee shirt and other personal expressions

It's an appealing idea to me that the basic building blocks of life may have come to earth via meteorites 4 or more billion years ago.. why couldn't they have been drifting around the universe or even intelligently directed to a promising solar system like ours.... I'm talking fossilized raw materials that could remain stable for billions of years..

The mendosa website also links to a more expansive table which shows suggested diabetic choices and has units also in ounces, and carb calcs. According to the color code of the table, carrots are considered "low glycemic" for diabetics, apples are low to medium (to answer your original post). I didn't see greens listed.. suspect they would be "off the chart" low glycemic

Watermelon.. you probably know.. has a high GI, but a low GL (glycemic load) per serving.... GI does not take into account the serving size. And if you juice the rind which is basically like cucumber (watermelon is of that family) even better imo. Watermelon has a GI of 72 (high) and a GL or 4 (low) for a 120 gram serving (a slice +/-).... edit: up the serving size and the GL will obviously in

..don't get it I had a deep tissue infection once that was handled with antibiotics.. or whatever it was the doctor prescribed. That's got to hurt seeing you use those muscles all the time to eat, talk, etc. For topical stuff aloe vera (fresh) works for me. For poison ivy I've swabbed with hydrogen peroxide and sometimes bleach if it's really bad but that could cause scarring so maybe
