The recipe calls for 2 dessertspoons of superfood. It sounds like a powder. If so, it sounds like it comes from some company. Maybe Nature's First Law? I don't know. Just a wild guess. I've never bought any powder superfood. Taylor, who published the book? If it is from Nature's First Law (NFL), or somebody using their products, then NFL is where to look to find that specific superfood. Like Mike

I used to eat them in Thailand. Nice. Very juicy. A bit on the sour side, or they could be very sour. Especially if they're not fully ripe. Don't peel them or anything. Just wash them real good. You can bite right into it or cut it up. There are seeds in the fruit that you can eat, I think?!! If they're a bit green, they're going to be more sour. Orange is the color of a ripe one. And they'll get

I appreciate everyone for sharing this. It's hard to come to terms with such a thing. I binge myself. Less frequently than ever and I'm glad. Just last night I was bored, didn't know what to do with the time I had, so found some foods to eat. Later I thought about how I could have spent that time differently. Yeah, live and learn. Live and learn. These lessons have been so slow in coming. I've be

I used to eat pumpkin flowers when I lived at a place where we grew them. I'd sometimes break the flower apart and taste each part. The very center has the most distinct taste. It's still pretty bland, nothing that's gonna knock your socks off. But it's a nice taste. And the insects, yeah, taking food that they want too. Usually, I only took the flowers that didn't have insects in them at the tim

Yeah Bryan, I've gotta start agreeing with Coco and Narz, and say that you seem to be making this thing with Mike way too personal and vindictive. If he violates the rules, can him. Mike, if you're trying to secretly make money off us, stop it.

Why not fall asleep while meditating? I never have but I've never read or heard about it being detrimental or dangerous either. During my first meditation retreat in Thailand many years ago the nun there said it's not a problem if you fall asleep. But she wasn't talking about danger or anything. Just that if the meditator doesn't intend to go to sleep while meditating, then there's no "blame

Driving! Any way around this? Man. There are so so many people on the road who are dangerous yet get regular sleep. Please .... For yourself as well as for everyone else. Your calm and relaxed, that's good. But you're mentally exhausted, your concentration is poor and your coordination is great. Please don't die on the road. "It may sound crazy but although i have lots of energy i feel m

Dulset, do you go to a Zendo or any place to sit with others? Where'd you get your initial instruction? It's neat that a couple of you mentioned unity among people. Not feeling right about setting yourself apart from others! Neat. You know though, the very nature of such forums is very much a separation, as I see it. I don't see your face, I don't know .... So much more ... to connect wit

Taylor, I wish you all the best. Really, it's often hard for me to keep in mind the more important things in life and follow what I know yet sometimes don't feel in the moment. I wish you wisdom in dealing with things that confront your life. Bryan, I support you in this. Mike, you aren't addressing Bryan's comments and questions to you.

Bryan I'm surprised to see you suggest what I think you're suggesting. Go 100% raw now. And on an 80 / 10 / 10 plan. She's in a situation where she doesn't want major detox. If she has big detox symptoms and can't deal with them well, then that's not detox. Maybe I misunderstood you. You always seem so rational.

Alive! you mentioned all this in connection with eating vegetables. But it's not clear to me what you mean by this. Isn't hydrochloric acid necessary to break down most foods, or all foods? Or is it only or mainly the amino acids in vegetables? Surely this is not it. Other foods have tons of amino acids too. Nuts and seeds. I'm interested but don't understand. Can you clarify this please?

I haven't been sleeping very well either just the past few days. I didn't eat for one day a few days ago. Decided to do this once a week since finishing a 10 day cleanse. The day after I stopped the cleanse and ate a moderate amount of food, no sleep that night and no lethargy or rotten rundown feeling either. Then a few days ago, breaking the one-day cleanse (I take bamboo salt so I don't call i

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that I am now much more careful about what I put into and onto my body. For health reasons. I've been sensitive and caring for what seems to me in the best interest of animals since I was a kid so there's no change here. Well, okay, there has been change, sure. As I learn more and more what has been made with animal products or how animals a

Sure, you can get fresh durian in Thailand year round, but just don't expect organic when it's not "in season". This is not currently the season for it. Loaded with chemicals. Having said this, I've also eaten it off season and have sometimes liked it well enough. There are bad ones more often out of season than in season. I suppose this is typical of any fruit or vegetable.

One thing about checking your pH. Gabriel Cousens says to get 24 hours worth of urine samples. From the second urination of one day to the first of the next day. That's because the pH could go up or down during the day. So to get an average for the day, get a whole day's worth and mix it all up. It might not be feasible. But that was his suggestion in Conscious Eating. Makes sense to me but, I do

If it's from Thailand, realize it's not in season. I have been told by a friend who lived on Hawaii for six months that it's in season there all year round. Various varieties, coming and going with the seasons. But in Thailand, the main season is around June to September. In the south of Thailand there is a short season at the end of the year, but I doubt they export it as the quantity that is pr

Sweeterson, what do you mean? I understand that there are various foods that are prone to getting aflatoxin. Not just peanuts. Have you read that corn is prone to getting aflatoxin? How is it that corn is moldy or is toxic in some way? I've never noticed any moldy taste or smelt it in raw corn. Nor seen mold.

Rawgosia, I just saw on your link where it says bananas have B12. I still don't believe it. I've seen many many times in many places that fruits and vegetables don't have it. Maybe I need to change my thinking. Your link also says that potatoes have B12. I am not buying into that one either unless I start seeing lots and lots of people saying that it's true. How in hell would any of us know what'

I'll be moving back to the US at the end of this year. Most likely California since that's where my family is. Does anyone know of any raw food intentional communities in the USA anywhere? The SF Bay Area is where I'll probably go back to, but if I find something that looks really really neat somewhere else, I'll consider it.

I have a semi-wild garden, maybe something a tiny bit similar to what Masanobu Fukuoka wrote about in his masterpiece, One-Straw Revolution. (I loved that book. It made a deep and profound impact on me. I recommend it to anyone. It's not just about agriculture, and it's not just about eating, ....) When I moved into this apartment I got permission from the landlord to grow some foods in the l

I want to agree that wild greens are great. I have a tiny semi-wild garden just outside the apartment that supplies me with more greens than I need. I don't know the names of most of what's growing but the only thing that I've never eaten from it is the rare grass blade that pops up now and again. Some of those guys taste great too. I remember when I lived in Santa Cruz sometimes eating the Miner

Various people say that the best source of protein is in vegetables. I think what they mean, though I think I've never seen it stated clearly, is that you need to get a good variety and a good quantity of vegetables. All the essential amino acids are there in the vegetables, though no vegetable has all of them. Ah, spinach. I didn't know of this. I wonder if spinach is so low in one or more of th

My understanding also is that no plant food has B12. There are some foods that have a B12 analog, but our bodies can't use this, and it blocks the type that we can take up if it gets to the B12 receptors in our bodies before the type that we can take up. Maybe this Dang Gui has the B12 analog.

I read yesterday that the persimmons in the US got there from, I think it was China. Tiffany, maybe you can be a Tiffany Persimmon Seed. I do this with vegetable seeds. Especially in my semi-wild garden. It's great fun to toss seeds around and see what comes up. But spreading seeds around in the general vicinity of the origingal plant or tree is fun too.

I've read and heard various things. None of them get sudsy. One is to use vinegar. I'm unsure of this and can't find anyone who can give me certain information. I've been told that you can just use one or two drops per several liters of water. Soak the fruit for 15 to 20 minutes. This is what I do. I bought some apple vinegar. Not apple cider vinegar, just apple vinegar. My friend says that veget
