Curator, people seem to just be afraid of the unknown, don't they? They feel the safest doing what everybody else does, and our behavior is not "normal" to them. stellium, you are right that there could be some conflict there, but I just feel that some people cannot accept the sudden change, they need time to adjust. My wife buys my food for me, her parents always have a snack ready

Prana, well said, I agree with every word of your post. I just want to add, that, maybe, there is something either biologically or psychologically different in those people who manage to change their diet and switch to natural food. I was able to stop smoking when I was 23, and very few of my friends succeeded in doing that. That is just one example. I just feel that due to some hardships in m

I ready about it on Wikipedia, and the advice is that these "heavy" greens should be eaten younger (before the plant develops the defensive ingridients) - fully blown plant is too hard to digest. I imagine that for the business, full grown plants make more money, and most of the people boil them anyway.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions - when I meet Denis Rodman in the rehab, and he asks me what I am on, I will just say: "fruit". hehe )))))) I am 183cm tall (6'0", medium frame. When my wife met me, 8 years ago, I wore size 34 pants. Meanwhile I went to a size 38 being tight and my wife trying to tell me to go to size 40. Now 36 is very comfortable, but cannot wear 34 comfort

I have been on raw food since Jan. 31st and my wife is really worried about me. I have lost weight (still 15-20lb above my ideal weight) and she thinks I will get ill not eating "properly". She thinks that what I am doing is a type of anorexia and that it should be treated. ...it must be some funny type of anorexia, since I can eat a whole watermelon, or a few pounds of grapes etc.

powerlifer, where do you get seaweed? Any links online? Or should I look locally? I wish I lived closer to the sea, I would collect them myself, as diving is one of my hobbies.

I have some symptoms of this problem - I lost some of my skin hair, and my beard is growing slower than before I switched to raw foods (5 months ago). Does the iodine intake have anything to do with it? I stopped eating salt completely. Your description fits my symptoms, as I started with smoothies which included a lot of cruciferous veggies. This was the main difference in my diet. I don't t

Thanks a lot for the advice. The almonds were mixed with walnuts and hazelnuts, which I have eaten meanwhile as they looked untreated and there were fewer of them. I am not sure about the label, I believe that they just had "mixed nuts" sign when my wife bought them. There is a funny story behind this "gift" - my wife actually wanted to get walnuts only, but a shop assistant

I have a lot of almonds in shells at home (probably 15 lb), my wife bought them for me, but I never ate them, thinking that they were pasteurized. I broke a few, and they do feel dry, but edible. She bought them couple of months ago, but they should be still good, I think. I do not know what to do. Now banana who made me think again... I will probably try to eat them, but I don't want to e

Tamukha, Yes, I have seen it. Again, the power Monsanto has is huge. US government will treat you as a worse threat than terrorists if you criticize their baby, Monsanto. That is why I really do not like fighting against them. I like doing positive action, sharing knowledge, using the existing political freedoms until we get most of the people to understand these issues. About Monsanto - in

You are not supposed to chew seeds, but swallow them Raw dairy has animal protein, among other things. There are many conversations on this forum regarding these questions, if you go back through the topics (that is what I do to learn) you will find answers to most of your questions.

flipperjan, I have just come back from running a little over 2 miles outdoors (that has been my norm this week), but I have a new learning from yesterday. I saw this guy at work, he runs 5 miles every day at our fitness center. The path is probably not more than 100 yards long (around a reduced size basketball court), so he has to run many rounds. I was getting ready to play basketball so I ran

bud, it was Gabriel Cousens, I looke through some wideos and could not find the quote. I am pretty sure that he said 600 (that is why I thought I could maybe do one hundred), but now I think that I should have much more modest goals, as I don't have a clue what is realistic in the push-ups world.

What puzzles me is that whoever does this must be aware that the whole human kind is in danger, the food sources could be destroyed all over the world. I can't believe that this is about profit, as I don't see any profit in the starvation of the world. Monsanto is backed by governments, banks, virtually every single powerful entity in the world. It is impossible to fight it. But in a way, Monsa

Resistance: A new earthquake" is what peasant farmer leader Chavannes Jean-Baptiste of the Peasant Movement of Papay (MPP) called the news that Monsanto will be donating 60,000 seed sacks (475 tons) of hybrid corn seeds and vegetable seeds, some of them treated with highly toxic pesticides. The MPP has committed to burning Monsanto's seeds, and has called for a march to protest the co

I have read the 80/10/10 book, and I learned that dehydrator is not a good thing. We need the moisture from the fruit and veggies. The author said that not even the dried food comes close to fresh, but he suggested that dried food (sun dried, or naturally dried) is much better than dehydrated. I really, really liked that book.

bud, I have never been able to do more than 30-35 push-ups, but I want to do it now, as I have seen the video with this raw foods guru who did 600 push-ups I think, and he is 60 years old! He is slim but strong, and I like that, much more than bulky, ape-like built I agree that push ups are using a lot of different muscles, and that is why probably the body builders don' like them, as they are n

Nubster, biking is also beautiful, I think. It has it's advantages over running (you see more, you can go places, use your bicycle as a transportation vehicle). So, you are doing great, I think. Running is just the simplest, most natural activity, and it is convenient for me to run as the little forest is very close. It simply makes me feel really good, and I will continue doing it. Somehow,

flipperjan, I agree, it really makes you feel good. I like running outdoors much more, but I will do it indoors in the winter, if I have too. The amazing thing with raw foods is that my body reacts so much better, much less struggle. I could probably run much more than 2 miles now, but I like to keep it at the comfortable level, and it works. I can actually meditate and think clearly while I ru
