I would assume that unless you eat a 100% ORGANIC raw food diet, you will be getting chemicals in your body that need periodic cleansing????

Interesting. I had a 7 week bout with gout back in the spring. I had greatly improved my diet prior to the attack, and cured it by that same diet. I do believe its a detox. For some reason the big toe is vulnerable to the attack. Vinny

Rob, I fully believe the zoloft can go out the window when your son gets enough raw food under his belt, which should require alot less notches in a few months. Best wishes. Vinny

I had raw corn on the cob from a local farm stand today and it seemed slightly soft almost like it was steamed.Interesting,as I would think raw corn is always rather tough. But it was indeed raw. Vinny

I eat for about $45 a week. All fruits and veggies,no meat, grains,or dairy. Shop that produce section! Its the cheapest way to eat. And very little ends up down the sink,or in the garbage can. Vinny

I have read books that say never to eat fruit with anything else. I have personally never had any discomfort from doing so,but I now only eat fruit alone as to follow the advice that it will ferment thereby disrupting absorbtion of nutriets in the stomach. Also, meat and starches should never be combined due to different stomach acids required for digestion.BUT,none of us will be eating meat unl

Neat. Yea,I had been wondering just how raw foodists kitchens have changed. Most(all)kitchens are designed around cooking, and all the gadgets that go along with that. Vinny

Hi folks, I was wondering about what changes you all have made to your kitchens being a raw foodist. Things like the stove, microwave, toaster oven, and many gadgets would seem useless on a raw food diet and just take up space. I have thought of removing shelves from my fridge to make room for large melons, making a wood top for my stove to give more counter space,etc... What mods have you all ma

Its just a matter of time till it firms up. Whats the humidity in your room? That can affect it. I have tried making this kind of thing before and it requires just the right amount of moisture in the dough. But give it enough time and it will be "bread". I have always found that whatever time frames are given in recipe books, its usually not long enough. Vinny

Thanks! I might try them. I currently use regular zip-loc bags. I wash all my produce, spin dry, then put loosely in the bags. I can get at least a week from a head of romaine lettuce in my fridge. Vinny

This is perhaps one of the most fascinating aspects of diet to me...how it affects the mind. Your story is very inspirational. I think of the millions of people struggling with mental health issues, and who at the same time live on soda and cigarettes, burgers and fries, that I pray for a global awakening to the right way to live and the right foods to eat. I wouldnt know what part of a plant wanted to be toxic and what part didnt. Its all the same cells in every part of it. So I dont think any part of a plant is any more "toxic" than another. Vinny
