What an ASTOUNDING list of ingredients! What irony that this product is marketed as creating a natural scent!!! With labels that intentionally obfuscate, people have no idea what they are purchasing. Worse, other people who enter the airspace where it has been sprayed are exposed to this long list of chemicals without their knowledge. Commercials for this product "made"

It seems that after 743 episodes they have run out of things to say on their videos. The dramatized upset about "rebuilding" is just boring. (Did he really sing a song about "rodent poo" on a desk?) It's either time to stop winging it or to just stop.

Hi, Cocoana, Welcome! It is smart of you to write in and ask questions. And I'm happy for the success you've already had. However, what you wrote about throwing up is a red flag to me. It is important to realize that what you are describing is a choice - a bad choice. Although throwing up food you wish you hadn't eaten seems like a "logical" thing to do, it isn't. It is a

On Page 2 of the "Recipes and Food Preparation" forum is an entry I added a while back called "Wrap Fillings GALORE!" It has a long list of different filling recipes for filling lettuce leaves. Many are very simple, although some are complicated. I liked making them a lot when I was first making raw foods because many reminded me of things I was used to eating. It seems th

Usually it takes me getting away from a situation to have time to think of an effective response. How frustrating to draw a blank at the time! But every now and then I think on my feet and find just the right thing to say in a given situation. Well, even though that moment passed, I sometimes find it good to rehearse possibilities for similar future situations. Let's see... when they b

Hi, Rachel, It's kind of you to ask how it's going for me. The answer is mixed. When I first went raw I was desperate for relief from acid reflux and the pain I was experiencing. That gave me the motivation to be almost 100% raw. I not only got relief from severe symptoms, but began feeling great. Fantastic, really. All was good for about a year. However, after a year of about 100% r

I know I've written a lot on this already, so I hope y'all won't mind a bit more. After thinking about this, I have come to the conclusion that the problem is not so much the quantity of praise, but rather the sincerity and accurate specificity of the praise that are critical. Phoniness and poorly disguised attempts to manipulate that are cloaked as praise are insidious and make me cringe.

Thank you, Tamukha. Fittingly to the topic of praise, I appreciate receiving a positive comment from you because I admire you so much. Your knowledge and insights are always enlightening. Mislu, my mother, who is in her 80's now, has kept art I've made dating back to my childhood. If I'm ever famous, she'll be the person to contact for a retrospective exhibit! She even kept a weaving I did

I remember an art class (Art for Elementary School Teachers) and on the first day the prof announced that she did not give A's. I think she wanted to correct the impression that it was an easy class that people could breeze through. Instead of dropping the course, I took it on as a challenge. I was determined to earn an "A" and dare her not to give it to me. For example, when we

I Googled "raw eggplant chips" and this came up. There were others too. I haven't tried it, so don't know how good it is. I have made eggplant "bacon" though and liked it. Raw Eggplant Chips by Sandie Sajner Ingredients: 3 medium to large eggplants Enough Nama Shoyu for spraying on each side of the chips 1 Tbsp. sea salt. Enough purified water to cover and soak t

Ditto to all you've said. I too dislike the "good job" praise. I much prefer specific comments that tell the child why what they did was good, like "Look how neat your shelves are. It is easy to see all of your toys. You really know how to organize things." I think praise should sound conversational and be something the parent wouldn't mind hearing from someone. Someho

That must have been a scary experience for you in 1989. I remember seeing photos of that freeway collapse. WOW! Fortunately, Irene didn't affect me or damage anything in our area that I know of. However, I have had an uncanny knack for "attracting" hurricanes over the years and have been through quite a few. I have experienced several floods, significant roof damage from tornado

Seeing places I have lived always brings a flood of memories - pleasant and not so good. Right now I can count 42 different addresses where I have lived. There will be more soon. We've been renting a cabin, but will move to a garage apartment in a few months while an apartment at our business is being built. So that'll be at least two more places in the next 12 months. And I wasn't an army br

Yes. I'm used to feeling small earthquakes from having lived in New Zealand, but it was strange feeling one here in Virginia. I was on a scaffold painting a building at the time! We've had a few aftershocks too. The only "damage" we had was a glass that skittered off to the floor. No one had any real damage that I know, although one person has a photo on her Facebook page showin

My first inspiration was this site! I knew that my diet was making me ill and wanted to be healthy. I Googled raw food and this was the first site I tried. Like Tamukha I read and read and read. Whenever I saw a link to another site I checked it out too, including raw food recipe sites. Everyone here inspires me. Thank you all!

I get by without one. I was given a cheapie without a thermometer and didn't like it - - way too small and frustrating not knowing the temperature. The only dehydrating I do often is dehydrating soaked flax seeds. (DE-LISH!) I do it in a standard oven on the lowest setting with the door partially propped open. Someday I'd love to have a big one with a thermometer, but alas, that's a way

Hi, RawinspiredAmy, I have been where you are and understand your fears and frustrations. Look in the Raw Diary forum under my entries on the strand titled, "Adventures in the Raw Food World." On page 1, I describe my GERD symptoms and what I did to quit taking protase inhibitors. Although I got results, I do still get symptoms when I eat too much protein, fat, or spices. Mayb

I just read this about celery's attraction properties in an article on Yahoo: "Attractic #2: Eat celery Real men don’t eat rabbit food, right? WRONG. If you want to reel in the ladies, try increasing your crunches — of celery stalks, that is, not the gym variety. And it’s not just because women tend to congregate around vegetable trays at parties; in fact, eating celery increases t

Hi, All, I am still struggling - trying to get a routine that works for me to keep raw. There are several barriers that sabotage me. The rural grocery near me is small and has limited produce. Driving to town takes about 40 minutes one way, so the expense for gas is a consideration and the time it takes is a factor. Another problem is that I'm often out and about getting our business v

Here's a mouse story... When we built our house in NZ I had the builders put a "mouse house" in the baseboard and a 12" X 12" "room" in the wall - like the kind of hole you see on Tom and Jerry cartoons - and I furnished it with doll house furniture. I had the electrician put in an electric light. It was great fun when children came to visit. They loved looking
