Actually, the recent research on DNA has made scientists conclude that the concept of race is a gimmick, which I welcomed with applaud. Genetically, we are all the same (with minor, individual differences). The external differences that we observe (eye color, hair type, height, skin color) are purely the natural variations, which externally may seem significant (take a very short and very tall pe

Hi again, shep252. I am enjoying this conversation too. I too wish I got the hint about raw foods much earlier. Still, I am grateful that I did at all. I would love to do some fasting (which I too consider to be a powerful healing tool), perhaps in January when I take some time off work. I too agree with a lot of Shelton's work. I have not read it all, but what I have agrees with my personal disc

Hi shep252, I would tend to think that a worm in an apple is not a parasite, but a pest (that competes for food with humans). I ate quite a few apples in my life that had a worm in it (which I removed). They tasted great. My grandma, who had an orchard, used to say: if a worm wants it, it must be good. By the way, I found some good advice on growing fruit trees without the use of chemcial sprays

I don't believe cooked chocolate is much better. If I have any, I can't sleep. Before raw, I used to have quite often, but now I can't stand it anymore. Oh well, no great loss. Gosia

Talking about solid scientific evidence, I would be interested in seeing yet a reference to a scientific paper, published in one of the high-impact journals, that support any fo the claims that you are making about colonics/mucoid plaque, Marcos. Cheers, Gosia

I respectfully disagree, longtimeraw. No time for long discussion, unfortunately. Just a quote (from ): "Anyone who is concerned about worms or parasites needn't worry about removing them. It is only necessary to remove their food supply by: 1) fasting when symptomatic; 2) adopting a diet of whole, raw, fresh, biologically appropriate foods; 3) allowing the body time to cleanse and heal a

Does anyone know of a parasite cleanse diet? Yes, it is the fruit-based raw food diet. (Parasites do not like the environment in the body fed by such a diet) Gosia

My experience has been that there were useful in the initial stage of my transition to raw. After that, I lost desire for them as well as found that staying all-raw and eating simple is the easy way to healthy flora, woithout needing any external help. Gosia

Hi Star, The realization of the importance of healthy flora was once a breakthrough for me too. I remember reading reports of various long-living people, from various sources, and noticing a common factor in several of these stories: the inclusion of fermented foods in their diet. In my first year of raw, making saurkraut or other fermented foods was my routine. My son, not raw at that time, u

Soy beans if not cooked, are raw, but perhaps too hard to digest. Tofu is not raw, because is made from cooked soy beans. You do not need anything to have enough protein in your raw diet. Raw diet is not protein deficient. Sincerely, Gosia

Hi Sheryl, Thanks so much. I was able to download the exe program, but when I try to open chapters from 2 onwards from the book, it won't let me. The message I get is: "Registering eBook. .... eBook Pro could not contact the server. This could be caused by firewall/proxy or antivirus programs you are using." ??? I may have to use some expert advice lol! Gosia

Yes, I remember reading such story before, but have no link to it (sorry, maybe someone else can provide). Also, see the reference below (one could asks what would happen in the longer term, rather than in such a short study). I used to suffer from joint pains before raw, but not anymore. Thanks for your interesting insights. Thanks Sapphire for sharing your story. I think that perhaps the definition of healthy lifestyle in the traditional sense is not accurate. So another question that could be asked is: What is a truly healthy lifestyle? And, can a person who leads a truly healthy lifestyle (say: no exposure to toxins, plenty of exercise, rest, meditation, sunshine, fruit

I have the pre-emptive aversion to mammograms, because of the pain they cause and because I am oblivious to their benefits. I wonder about what Sapphire wrote: "Just don't kid yourself that just because you have a healthy lifestyle you are immune. That was my mistake!" I tend to agree that "need" is the key word here. When one is truly connected with their body to the point of eating only what is needed and when it is needed by the body, then one would expect to be in harmony. Gosia
