Well, I think that if one keeps banging their head against a wall, and then stops, they may well realize that being happy is possible. To me, eating cooked was like banging my head against the wall. I am definitely happier then before (when I was doing the banging), and defnitely heard similar reports from other raw foodists. Now, as far it being constanly ecstatic and euphoric, I am not there ye

I heard stories of those who used juicing in their fight against cancer. In my view juicing is OK, but perhaps not optimal. Personally, I prefer whole foods. I think that if my body has a juicer as its extension, then perhaps I would juice. Still, I like blending young coconuts, even though my blender is not my body extension. I conclude that I tolerate blending, because I get the whole food tha

I would be interested in hearing your opinion too. When I first went raw, I was giving my son some probiotic drinks, for a couple of weeks, and that changed his bad breath to normal. But this did not last. However, I noticed that thanks to raw food diet, he has improved, and recently, since going all-raw, he is even better. His breath is nice and fruitty. So, my guess is that probiotics may help

Mike (I assume that you have adressed me, nice to talk to you again ): 1) It is inaccurate to assume that by labelling someone one will be able to expect from them to emanate certain characteristics. Everyone is an individual, if you know what I mean. My opinions are not the result of deciding to be a natural hygienist, or a fruitarian, or anything else (in fact, I have not labelled myself as s

Marcos, Marcos, you should have checked the definition. The one that I was referring to was "argument = (a) A course of reasoning aimed at demonstrating truth or falsehood (b) A fact or statement put forth as proof or evidence; a reason (c) A set of statements in which one follows logically as a conclusion from the others". I hope that this has clarified some confusion here. Well,

Hi Basia, First of all, I think that, if one likes, one can have both - lots of fruit and lots of greens at the same time. The two things do not exclude one another. Although, if you calculate the calories, then yes, they will come mainly from fruit, unless one eats lots of fat, of course. To me, the fruit is my staple, but I do not exclude the greens. I eat them if I want. In general, I eat w

I say eat the foods you enjoy at the moment and be open to change in the future. I used lots of spices in my first year of raw, but not anymore. The change was spontaneous though, not a forced one. As far as salt, I decided to ditch it completely recently, because I no longer liked the taste of it. Avoes/tomates actually taste salty to me now. Gosia

"This is a rawfood site and not a natural hygiene site. With all due respect, perhaps you'd be much happier with like-minded people. Very few people on this site are natural hygienists and therefore think differently than you. I am a perfect example." I am quite happy where I am, and my happiness does not depend on who you are. Nor, does it depend on other people's opinions. "

I've seen some raw foodists getting implants, presumably to look good. But I thought they looked better and cuter before. They are also possibly not as healthy as before either. I never thought that implanted breasts look better after than before. But what I am more curious about is: Wouldn't having implanted breasts feel weird? Gosia

Jeff, I recommend slowing down. You seem to want to skip a few phases here. Don't expect to be able to eat mostly fruit and be satisifed, after being raw for only a short while. Instead of trying to achieve unreasonable goals, why not limit them to just one "staying raw". Eat foods you love! Things will happen in their own time, when your body is ready for them. In my first year of r

Jeff, the answer to this question is "It depends on where you are". Ultimately, it is best to mono-eat, but before you get to that stage, you will be likely to go through various transition phases (see Transition topic there, for example). Happy munching, Gosia

Marcos - Silly? Of course you argument is silly (note that it is you who constructed it, not me). Nature is not that silly. Until you understand that, there is no point in me going over simple points that you clearly failed to understand. singiraw, this debate can go forever. I see no point in trying to collect votes for or against. I have expressed my opinion and am not interested in trying

learningtofly, for this emergency situation, the western medicine is good only as far as the removal of the nails. But it is not good for creating the optimal conditions for healing after the operation. For that to happen, body needs to be left without harmful practices such as hospital food or medication. Thankfully, humans do not tend to think that nails are food. Gosia See Favourite qu

No, the cause are not the toxins in your body, they are the result. And no, one does not to perform unnatural, human-invented, harmful practices in order to heal from ilness that was caused by harful practices. Instead, one needs to remove the cause, and the body will heal. And no, one does not need to do research to know what type of raw foods are appropriate for one. If one ignores the strong s

Well, some tend to think that our minds know better than the body, while others tend to think that it is body that knows better. Personally, I tend to trust the nature. And, I don't think that one needs a degree in nutrition to truly learn from nature. On the contrary, going away as far as one can from standard ideas in nutrition, back to our instincts, about which the mainstream science knows so

Marcos, I do not believe that the true knowledge is the result of reading books, and this is clearly where our opinions differ. Neither do I believe that it comes from subconscious, which is what you seem to understand about my beliefs. To me, the knowledge comes from the higher-self. There is nothing to be scared here. On the contrary, it is the most empowering path. To me, one can only truly le

To me, badly constructed time-related argument is irrelevant. 1) Some people can take many years to read many books and still not learn. It is the ability to make discoveries and intelligent connections that matters. These happen instantly. 2) There are quite a few over 100 year-old folks who eat meat and drink alcohol. This does not prove that eating meat and drinking alcohol will ensure living

I can understand all the diferent arguments. Saurkraut is popular in Poland, where I was born. In my first year of raw, I would argue with others that saurkraut was perfectly alright food to eat. I used to make it quite often, using the tradition Polish stomping method (the recipe is still on my website). Then, something happenned. As I was eating more and more raw foods, my taste for saurkraut c
