Well, Beets always get things "moving" for me, when juiced this happens most. I just love them, especially when I need something "earthy" in a salad. Natalia Rose has a few recipes for beets. They are thought to help cleanse the liver, which might explain a slight detox followed by energy. Good luck lady

Daimond Organics is one way, although expensive, is one way by mail. Local would be Wild Oats Chagrin Blvd., Whole Foods at Cedar, Musterd Seed in Solon, they all have organic bulk bins, as does the Cleveland Co-op on Euclid. I know that the Mustard Seed Solon has orderd items in from Glaser's Farm (great Flax crackers, Nori crackers, raw cookies and treats) Miles Market is the best for

Wow! You have made so much change in such a shor period of time! I have had such similair experiences, a few good days raw, followed perhaps by some cooked binging. I used to feel very "bad" as I knew how much I wanted to follow a healthy path. It comes down to behaviour in some regards, what changes can you make now, what changes are for the future. Transition is a reality

What drew me to this post was the mention of oranges. My main fruit was banana but now have not had one since before the holidays. Now all my body seems to want are oranges in the morning and tomatoes along for lunch and dinner (although struggling with cooked tomatoes, like sauce). THis is so unsual but I've been eating oranges every morning and my body loves it. Fasting might help, I p

This resource has come from a dear friend of mine daignosed with colitis who now suffers only IBS "attacks" if she takes the wron food or common medications doctors prescribe. It may be useful to you as she describes which foods may aggravate/help in your situation. It is NOT a raw site but may be an aid of some sort: good luck!

pkd4fun, I am so curious to hear about how you take SB, do you have any recommendations? I love raw foods yet also find myself clinging to denser foods which make the Candida diet a challenge for me. I am so encouraged by everyones experience!

I loved cacao nibs, they were great for weening from chocolate. They can be helpuful for transitioning (personal opinion), but once you start to find your body's natural vibrations - without stimulants such as caffeine or cacao and without depressants - for me, I find it taxing on my system and more of a "lifting" substance, "lifting" being stimulating, like a drug. I n

Do you have a buddy who might be in on the quitting? That was huge for me - and my husband. We quit together and having the responsibility shared between the two of us to be honest and true worked. It was still hard, it was the first time I saw my hubby get really really angry, first time he yelled, but that was only on day one, after that we just got better and better. It was hard for

Sometimes when I walk out my back door I smell something "electrical" in the air. It's not all the time, but it causes me to envision the odor of burning electrical wires of some sort. This has been for two years, moreso after raw. I also smell the gas coming from the stove pilot whenever I chop veggies in the kitchen. My hubby never does. It's so strong to me that I'm always checkin

Hi Novelista, I am writing because I am having an intense time with cravings right now. I started on a 21 day detox program that led up to a fast on juice and blended veggies. I have been totally raw the last two weeks and did three days of just juice and blended veggies. Before this I was raw for periods but vegetarian with only small delves into dairy (once a week). I am now so hun

Hey Mark, Thanks for sharing. I recently have gone through a similair "re-transition" from junk. I was studying nutrition in college and started intellectualizing diet and nutrition. It lead me to the great path of ditching the SAD (standard american diet) I had been so attatched to. From that point I really cleaned things up for a few years but then this year...sigh, ice cream, b

Hi Patty, I'm an Eastsider! We never seem to make it over to the West Side except to go to the zoo! So to answer your question shopping for me is split. The organic things important to me not found at my Giant Eagle (organic chocolate!) comes from Whole Foods, Wild Oats, or the Mustard Seed in Solon. And occasionally I'll go to some local co-ops, I don't know if you're familiar with Coventr

Walk. Walking circulates gently. You get the blood flowing, the joints moving, the heart pumping. Fluids and everything else can move through the body in a gentle way. Depending on your walk you can make it what you want. Leisure as the sun rises, energetic taking the dog , quick paced and aerobic as you swing your arms to the mp3, or romantic as the sun sets. The unlevel ground wi

Hi Pooch, Thanks for posting your journey, it is so encouraging to hear others experiences. One thing I've learned is to listen to intuition. If you find your body sending you signals, even if it's contrary to someone else's story or something you read in a book, trust your body. It sounds to me like you may want to try a slower transition, rather than an all or nothing approach. Allow y

Hi all, As working through my journey with food I am constantly nudged to become more and more aware of myself, how I feel, what satisfies and disatisfies me, what enriches me, etc., On a personal note I never give myself enough credit, expecially to ellicit that I might ever actually get angry. I study taoism and energetic ways of life, understanding the harmful vibrations anger and other
