Thanks for the info. I'll just keep them on the counter then. Now for the BB "cheesecake". Here's the recipe: Crust: 2 cups almonds 1 cup dates (soaked and pitted) Place the almonds in a blender and blend until fine. Add dates and blend until well blended. Pat crust into pie plate Filling: 4 cups cashews 1 large lemon, juiced 5-6 tablespoons agave nectar 2 teas

I bought a package of sun dried tomatoes and just used some of them to make marinara sauce. Yummy! My first attempt at raw spaghetti, and I really liked it! Now here for the dumb question. How do you store the sun dried tomatoes after you've opened the package? Do I just need to refrigerate them, or can they sit out? And how long will they keep? I'm loving all the experimenting. Yes

Count me in as one who cries over the beauty of nature, human or animal suffering, just about anything that sparks an emotion. I cried at my daughter's first dance recital. My parents thought I was nuts. I think it means that we are in touch with our emotions and the world around us, and as kwan said, compassion is a wonderful trait. I, for one, do not think it is strange at all.

There are two, but the one we visited was at: 2910 Lake East Drive on the west side of Vegas. I hope you get a chance to eat there!

Hi all, My husband and I were in Vegas last week and visited a raw restaurant (Go Raw). It was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. We had the enchiladas, guacamole, and salsa. We intended to go back for a second dinner but just ran out of time. I just wanted to bring this up just in case anyone might be planning to visit Vegas in the near future. Take care, sunshine

OMG, are you serious, Therese??? Your eye color is beginning to change to blue. I had blue eyes until I was about 2 years old, and then they turned brown. I didn't know that could happen... I am very intrigued.

Hey, thanks Therese, Lollipop, Rob, Phantom, northernstarts, and arugula! You each provided enlightening information that has helped me to make my decision. I think I will splurge and buy them both! This is my second attempt at going raw. Although I have continued to eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables for the last year or so, I've had a hard time staying with it to the degree I've

For those of you who use these products, which one do you prefer and why would you use one over the other? I am interested in trying one of them for various recipes. Of course I don't know what recipies yet . I'm just trying to figure out what the main difference in the two products is so that I can figure out which one I would use the most. One is chocolate and one is a chocolate substitute?

I apologize if someone already answered this question, but how often are you washing (with water of course)? Daily? Semi-weekly? Weekly? I tried this before but I don't think I was doing it right?

I've heard/read that Evening Primrose Oil helps some women. You might check into that.

I've only used All Free 'N Clear, but I'm glad to see this thread because I've wondered this too. I make my own fabric softener, a mixture of vinegar, baking soda, and essential oil. Does anyone else have a recipe?

I've only tried it for a short period of time. I do use a line of raw vegan products on my hair, though. I guess that's the next best thing...

I can relate to this (somewhat). I'm an adult, but my mother still likes to tell me that I need to eat something that will "stick to my ribs". She's diabetic, used to control it with diet, but now takes meds and eats pretty much what she wants. I don't think I need to take my dietary/health advice from her...

Yeah, I don't wear anything scented either. As a matter of fact, I can't stand perfumes; they make me sick. Trust me, hyldemoer, the bees won't starve. There are lots of flowering shrubs in our community for them to feed off of. If I were able to admire them from a distance, I would fine with that, but they are surrounding our small patio. The hawthornes were just planted in the wrong place

Thanks for the responses. I do appreciate it. nomade, that is a nice idea, but we have a very small backyard and the indian hawthorne's line the patio, so we cannot, nor can our 5 year old grandson, spend any time out there. I think we've decided to remove the hawthorne (as much as I hate to do that)...

This just seems totally weird to me, but our backyard is totally taken over by bees (both the small ones and the bumble bees). We have indian hawthorne that is blooming beautifully, but we can't enjoy it because the bees are EVERYWHERE. Does anyone have any suggestions about what we can do to discourage the bees...???

Thank you cy and Wendi! I will definitely juice more (I love carrot juice) and eat more fruit. I think it is true that I wasn't getting enough calories, so I'll just have to work harder to ensure that I do this time. Have a wonderful day!

Hi everyone, I haven't been on this board for months, and I have to say that I "fell off the wagon" so to speak. I have continued to eat some raw foods, but I let some of the SAD slip back in. I guess I'm just looking for some support and ideas about how to best get back to what I believe to be what's best for me. One thing that contributed to my slip was the fact that I lost weig

Hi Jennifer, I, too, am interested in raw food solutions to uterine fibroids as I have these as well. One thing I have learned from research is that the hormones injected into animals that humans consume are believed to make them worse. I don't know if you're previous diet was the SAD or if you've been a vegetarian/vegan, but if you have consumed animal products in the past, hopefully changing

Well this is coming from a real newbie, but I have to say that Bryan (among a few others) is the reason I actually joined this forum instead of just continuing to lurk. Bryan, there is something calming about you. Someone mentioned the word "grace", and that really hit home with me. What an awesome word to describe you. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom with us and for your

First let me say that I am not anti-doctors. I believe they are needed, especially for serious medical conditions and emergencies. Here's my story. You will probably find it most amusing. I went for my annual female visit a couple of weeks ago and just mentioned to my doctor that I could feel what I thought were my ovaries, like they were swollen or something. Keep in mind that I have been di

love, Just go to www.morroccomethod.com. You can purchase the products on the web site. I think some stores may sell the products, but I haven't run across them here in my area. I have been using them exclusively for almost a year and have actually had some regrowth (my hair was starting to thin). The ingredients are even listed on the web site, all natural and vegan. Good luck! sunshineTX

I agree on the designer perfumes, or any perfumes for that matter. They give me a headache and/or cause my throat to clog up. Yuck! As for makeup, I use Bare Minerals on my face, Dr. Hauschka on my eyes, and Burts Bees on my lips. And the products I really love are Morrocco Methods hair products; all organice vegan products. They are wonderful!
