Mr H, I didn't like coconut milk the first time I tried it, either. I had heard how wonderful it was and I was not impressed. Plus, I almost cut myself trying to get into the thing. (My experience with frozen Durian was even worse.) However, after losing a lot of blood as part of the raw cleansing, I tried the coconut again and I felt much stronger after drinking the coconut milk (2 Young

Hi Mia, I remember passing pork when Raw Vegan for 8 months. I had not eaten pork for at least fives years prior to that (a little in Sweet and Sour Soup), otherwise, I had given up pork at least 10 years prior. I was thoroughly disgusted when I smelled the pork in the toilet. The food/chemicals, etc. which we eat/drink are stored in our bodies and it isn't until the body is at a stage to r

Hi Fud, I cannot tell you if they are truly raw or not when in the shell. All that I can say is that they taste raw. The nuts that are not in the shell are sometimes pasteurized, especially the almonds. I have purchased the raw nut variety bags sold at Christmas time from the grocery store and the the Brazil nuts taste the same as the ones sold at Trader Joe's. I have read that other peo

MH, Is it a Young Coconut or a brown coconut? If it is a young coconut, the outside will be white and spongy. If it is brown, brown. With a Young Coconut, I cut off the top portion of the white spongy part with a serrated knife. The top is the pointed end of the coconut. Then, you will see the rounded top of the coconut. I then take the coconut and put it on top of a plastic bag on the

H-H, Congrats on your decision. I second Dave's opinion although not as philosophically as he did. There is severe detox that can overwhelm your body if you do the diet 100% raw vegan from 100% SAD. Good luck. Therese

fuzzy, It is very normal for women who are 100% raw vegan to stop menstruating and still be fertile. Don't worry. Since I'm not 100% raw vegan at the moment, my periods are still irregular. You can drink Shepherd's purse tea or Lady's Mantle tea to regulate your hormones. I buy these dried herbs from the bulk aisle. Frontier is the distributor. I also heard that Black Cohosh is supposed

I forget the Doctor's name. He went around the world and found that in each instance where the person was eating completely raw vegan, the eyes changed color. My friend's sister's eyes were brown and after eating raw for I think 18 months (I think this was the time frame), her eyes turned blue. Of course, your eyes can turn back when you change your diet. Ruth, You have to determine that with your body's reaction to the food intake and the required nutrients you need. Check out fitday.com regarding the nutrients/calories. Use the other links given as a guide to what others are doing but ultimately, judge for yourself based on your body's needs. Therese

Hi Mia, That's a super long time. You might want to drink some fresh Young Coconut Milk to replace the blood loss. Mine are irregular and a few have been almost back to back with only a few days' break. When I was on Birth Control, I bled for 2 months straight and became anemic. I told the doctor that I kept bleeding. She told me that I had to wait it out. I got fed up and stopped taki

Mia, That's a great story. Good for your son that he is in tune with his body like that. You might want to check Hulda Clark's "The Cure for All Diseases" regarding your son's Asthma. She is a very informed source regarding diseases. Thanks for sharing. Therese

Anaken, I wasn't impressed by Boutenko's children's raw book so I made the link that Boutenko, herself, wasn't fully informed. Also, when you look at her photo, she doesn't have that raw glow. FUD, Considering looking at Dr. Douglas Graham's work 80/10/10 as Bryan mentioned. Of the popular raw theories, his is very logical. (I've looked at many theories including Alyssa Cohen (Too much raw g

Jgunn, Thanks so much for the link. I moved here about 2 months ago so I was at loss where to find veggies outside the traditional health food stores, superstores, and a couple of Asian markets which didn't have much selection like they did in Phoenix. I found a couple of places via the link, while not in my town, are not too far a drive. Therese

Amy, I went through that stage where I definitely needed bread or bready carbs. I tried "raw" flax crackers. It helped but didn't do the trick. I gave into my cravings and tried sprouted essene bread. Sproutmans has a recipe for it. I just purchase it at $4 per tiny loaf. It seemed to do the trick but it would fall apart and not hold up like regular bread. I used a fork to eat

fuzzy, I like Bryan's answer, too. Regarding your specific question, I don't know that Boutenko knows really what she is saying regarding asthma. It could be true but I've found that asthma is really caused by parasites. You can read Hulda Clark's "The Cure for All Diseases" and she addresses this. As for craving something because you plain like it or maybe you're missing the n

fuzzy, We're all rooting for you. Maybe, you might benefit from some subliminal tapes? I've been looking at this company. Shazzie mentioned it in her book and she had success with their CD's. There is a CD specifically on Depression. I heard Depression is a form of anger and frustration but turned inwardly rather than outwardly. (I was very depressed when I was young as my last blood re

GG, Good question. I didn't hear about it. So thanks for the post. I'm not sure if it is true but I know that when I muscle tested the "organic" Agave syrup, that it muscle tested weak. I did not buy it. I wouldn't be surprised that the Agave syrup is "watered down". I don't think that Dr. Graham has anything to gain by this statement so I wouldn't doubt it myself. I

Avocadess, I have Candida. I didn't follow either of the two diets mentioned. (Although, I'm thinking of purchasing Dr. Graham's book after doing this awhile.) I've been modified raw for about 2.5 years. I don't believe that the above posts were to "slam" or to be unsupportive of you or any Candida sufferer. As with all posts, one is offering their opinion and experience. I don'

fuzzy, I empathize with you. Just relax. Be loving towards yourself and be patient. It's always hardest in the beginning because you're being tested on whether or not you really want this. We all go through it. For me, sometimes hormones make me extra sensitive, too. I know that there are SAD lights that you can buy that emulate sunlight. I bought a lamp with this feature so even if it

Lemoned, If your blood sugar is off, it sounds like you're hyper or hypoglycemic. I get that way when I'm too fat. That's my indicator that I have to lose weight. Once the the few additional pounds are lost by not eating so much, my blood sugar stabilizes. My first fast before raw was the Master Cleanse. Since become modified raw, I have done a 10 day water fast. (My friend who has bee

Hello, The juices are considered a food in the raw diet. If you're doing 8-1-1 and you're not hungry, then why worry about the calories? I suggest that you obtain the proper nutrients by checking your intake at fitday.com or other websites that offer the same. If you're missing nutrients, you might want to supplement. The fat calories from the Graham method are so few that you won't have to

Hmm, I understood 80-10-10 to be Doug Graham's theory on eating vegan or vegetarian. There is a post on this 80-10-10 in the main Vegan forum. Many starting RAW do have a transition period so your cheats will be the bread and fish. While I almost immediately gave up all flesh (meat, fish, etc.), it took me a long time to give up bread. I did Sprouted Essene bread for awhile. I had to give u

568. Re: Tea
I prefer herbal tea like German Chamomile, Mint, Senna leaf, Pau D'Arco, Fenugreek, etc. I still boil the water and let it steep. In that way, it's not raw. I suppose if you wanted to, you could put slightly heated water on the herbs to let it seep without boiling it. That would be truer to raw. Anyhow, I allow the water to cool down before drinking it. I don't know that all the essential

Hello, Ideally, one is not supposed to drink anything with the meal. This is so that the digestive enzymes work without dilution. After 30 minutes, one can drink. I tried that method for awhile. Sometimes I remember to drink something like water or other times, I remember that I haven't drunk anything for awhile. Of course, if you are drinking juice, that is your meal/drink. Lately,
