Hi, I really try to avoid peanuts due to the mold. You could do almonds instead. They are more alkaline. I've just discovered raw tahini (sesame seeds), too. I suggest that if you aren't supplementing your nutritional intake to do so. I was 100% raw vegan for 3 months before my health started falling apart because I wasn't watching my nutritional intake and became very deficient. That'

Hi Rawsome, Sorry to hear about your health. I read in another form that water chestnuts are very high in iron - 90%. Not sure how much you have to eat. Try to find the info on fitday.com I eat raw egg yolks and milk products and that helps with the iron and B12. I also supplement with muti-vitamins/minerals for vegans. For your sore throat. You might want to read "The cure f

I agree that the raw diet is hard. That is why the decision to go raw shouldn't be for light reason. When I was 100% raw (I had to back off because I was detoxing too badly), I used to take a teaspoon of raw honey to fill the sugar craving. You could also use fruit such as dates. I agree that to get the heavy feeling the nuts/nut milks work well. Also, one eventually adjust to feeling &q

If you're feeling weak, are you getting the proper nutrients? I only feel weak when I haven't got a proper balance of nutrients or haven't eaten enough. Also, the weakness could be a part of detox. You might want to add some solid foods to slow the detox down if that is the problem. What are you blending? Are you keeping the blending simple and keeping fruit separate from greens? If you

Water chestnuts can be easily purchased canned in the Asian food aisle. I usually rinse mine through water to get the canned tasted out. They are crunchy and white. They have a light taste to them. They are great in salads. Raw water chestnuts are harder to come by as they are only sold at an Asian store in the veggie section. They are not always in stock. They look brown on the outside

Hello and welcome, I have a couple of book suggestions if you're a reader as I am. 1. Hulda Clark's book: "The Cure for All Diseases" (While this is not raw, it does address diseases and detoxing your environment.) 2. "Mucusless Diet Healing System," by Arnold Ehret (This does address raw.) You'll also want some tools: 1. Juicer or blender 2. Food processor 3

The suggestion about the sproutpeople is good. I started there and then bought a mason jar with a sprout lid locally. I sprout alfalfa. I've seen where I left soaked garbanzo beans or wheat berries in the refrigerator and they sprouted, too. With the sprouting, I think the most important part is to make sure that the seeds don't sit in water all the time. They will mold that way. It's eas

I have a Needak rebounder but haven't used it much as I don't have much space in my apartment. Rebounding is good for the lymphatic system but I prefer yoga to balance me. I guess I could do a variety of exercise regimens by switching them around during the week. Right now I'm pressed for time so I'm grateful to be able to sleep. I did read about the certification program regarding Urban Re

I lost lots of hair when I became raw, too. I've notice a remarked improvement in my hair and nail strength with eating raw egg yolks, taking MSM, and taking supplements. As for chlorophyll, I've been taking that to increase my blood count as I lost quite a bit during the cycle. So, not sure what it does for my hair but it looks fine. Also, Unsulfured Plantation Black Syrup Molasses is ex

Hi Jess, I had all sorts of detoxing symptoms. The flu was only one of them. Extreme fatigue, weakness, dizziness, feeling spacey, heart racing, major hair fall-out, etc. were others. The only thing that I can advise is to continue alkalizing your body via fruits and veggies. As you alkalize, you will get better. Also, be sure that you are taking in the proper nutrients. I only started f
