I use water on the veggies. If I can, I also use organic soap, e.g. tomatoes. I don't trust the veggie washes due to the chemicals. If you had an expensive alkalizer, that would work well. Therese

How about experimenting with sundried tomatoes by turning them into a paste and add some raw organic honey. You could add some distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar and sea salt to taste. Not sure what else is typically in BBQ sauce but think I listed the major flavors in BBQ sauce. Therese

Innerveg, Thanks. Congrats on your eye color change! Very cool! Dawn, Raw foodists' eyes change color due to removal of toxins/parasites from the body and being in good health. I've heard that everyone is born with blue or green eyes and any other color is due to getting away from the pure state with which one is born. Ingridm, I agree with LittleBug. Health is a lifetime commitment and d

In the beginning, I ate Sprouted Wheatberry bread. You can find recipes online such as at Sproutmans. Since I didn't have all the equipment to make this bread, it was $3/loaf for a 8"x3"x2.5", and the store that sold it was so far, I gave it up. Now, I eat organic Spelt bread. Eventually, I will get all the tools/equipment to make sprouted Spelt bread on my own and let it &quo

My response is a little different than the great ones above. I was 100% raw vegan for 3 months when I went into severe detox. Hair falling out in massive clumps, weakness and fatigue all day such that I had barely enough energy to eat, use the restroom, get up and go to bed, nails snapping when trying open a drawer, spaciness all day long, etc. It was only when I re-incorporated some cooked ve

You can eat red potatoes raw. That's the only healthy way to eat potatoes. Otherwise, they are very glycemic. You can grate it and and some spices to it or just eat it raw. Raw red potatoes are great for your stomach, especially if you're pre-ulceric. Yams are also good to eat. I've heard of dehydrating them. I've not tried that. In one of the raw cookbooks, I read that someone thinly slic

I've experienced major detox. Depending on which episode, the symptoms were as easy as headache and as bad as major hairloss, extreme diarrhea to the point of burning, fainting, extreme cramping and release of growths via menstrual flow, extreme fatigue, etc. The cleanses are great in moderation. I suggest parasite zapping in addition to the cleanses. I just finished a 10 day water fast 2 we

Jacob, Sorry, I don't have one. Mine is a K-Tec Champ HP3. As for recipes, you can find lots of raw recipes on the raw internet sites online. One of my favorite things to make with the blender is iced fruit. It's a substitute for sorbet, ice cream, etc. Take frozen fruit like a banana, blend, and eat. I like cherries with a bit of raw honey to sweeten it. Raw soups are great in a b

I tried Atkins once. It was awful. Felt so dehydrated and as soon as I started eating anything other than meat, the weight came back. On raw, though, the weight is fairly consistent depending on what time I eat. If I eat a heavy meal too late at night and go to bed, the weight sticks longer than when I eat a light meal or not at all. You might consider doing a cleanse. I did the Master Cle

I agree with Marcos. I use both organic rose hip oil and a cream with shea butter. The shea butter especially works well. Therese

Hi, I didn't do the Dr. Natura thing. I regularly do parasite zapping with a parasite zapper. It kills parasites on a regular basis. Refer to Hulda Clark's book "The Cure for All Diseases". Good luck. Therese

I'm going to get the 9 tray one. They have the same footprint, just a little taller. Also, you can do more in the 9 tray than the smaller ones. You can remove shelves for taller items, too. The prices are not that far apart economically speaking. For my money, the 9 tray is the best bang for the buck. Therese

I eat raw egg yolks to help with the B12. Raw milk if it has colloidal silver would be good, too. I avoid E3 live as it has spirulina which I'm allergic to. Yes, your period will change on raw. There is a good article that was linked in another forum. It is Just copy and paste the link to read about raw vegan diet affecting the menses. Take care. Therese

Hi, You are probably not getting enough nutrients. Be sure to check your intake at fitday.com Typically, one has to eat more greens vs. fruits to adjust to the diet. For me, personally, after about 3 months of raw vegan and signs of severe deficiency, I had to add back to a little cooked. My energy returned and the spaciness was gone. I've found that my body tells me when I can eli

I bought a whole box of Lara Bars a few months back. I ate them as a snack. Then after the box, I was about done. The dehydrated fruit was a tie over to the real stuff. I read that dehydrated fruit doesn't have the same enzymes, etc. as the fresh, which my body told me as I didn't seem to fill up on them. For me, the Lara Bars good in a pinch but a poor substitute for the real deal. There

I am O positive and I was initially 100% raw vegan. I was detoxing too quickly so I had to re-incorporate some cooked. Also, my hair became very brittle so I incorporated some raw egg yolks and milk products. I craved sweet so I also eat raw, unfiltered honey. Those are personal choices. I have a friend that is also O and he has been raw vegan for years and has had no problems. I've found

Hi RawGuy, Sorry about your problem. My first boyfriend had this (I didn't know it) and I picked it up from him and gave it to another boyfriend unknowingly. The warts showed up about 5-7 years later. It took years of pain and suffering to get over it. At first, I had laser surgery and then I used "Aldara", a prescription acidic creme, on any other bumps that came along. (The s

Mushrooms, fungus, no -- causes cancer Red cabbage, have eaten, tastes milder than green Green cabbage juice, yes -- excellent for your stomach. Drink 4 oz/ 4 times/day to cure ulcer. Tastes mild and a bit sweet. Olive oil, okay. Prefer coconut oil. Salt, sea salt is okay. I use it often. Some prefer Celtic Sea Salt but I find it too gritty. I just use regular organic sea salt. C

I cannot help on the ratios but I can give you the website to plug in your nutritional intake and it will give you an idea of what nutrients your are getting: . Open a free account and then plug away. I purchased the software from inside the free account so that I could access the info easier and it would be more personal. Good luck. Therese

Not getting enough nutrients is a concern for me, too. So, I supplement with multi-vitamins/minerals suitable for vegans. That way, no matter what I eat or don't eat, I will be balanced nutritionally. This also allows me the freedom to eat what my craves without worrying about the nutritional lack on my system's equilibrium. Good luck. Therese

Hi, Do some parasite zapping and make some colloidal silver. Drink the colloidal silver and also drop it into the ear canal. When I thought I had an ear infection coming on, I did that and the symptoms disappeared overnight. If your sinuses are blocked, take an aspirator and squirt the colloidal silver up your nostrils. I had an acquaintance at work that had a terrible sinus infection and

Most change is hard to take spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. I agree with lil, if you're miserable 100% raw, back it off a bit. Your body will naturally tell you when to eliminate foods that no longer serve you. That way, your detox will be more gradual. Good luck. Therese

For a grain to be truly "raw" you have to sprout it, meaning that they have to be soaked to sprouting stage. The grain would have to be whole. You could eat the flakes but they wouldn't be as "live", meaning the enzymes would be there. Soaking the flakes/kernals/seeds would make them easier to chew if you cannot sprout them. I don't have any recipes as I typically don'

Being silly, you could just buy grenadine syrup/juice. For raw, though, you might have to put up with the seeds if you juice the pomegranite. It's likely though that the seeds will stain your juicer. I like deeds's answer Also, you could crush the seeds through a strainer or cheese cloth for a slower, less seedy juice. Hope that helps. Therese
