Cukes Hi I experience joint and muscle pain and severe headaches when i increase the amount of raw vegan food in my diet .It normally lasts between three to seven days. I then feel amazing for a few months before it happens again. Each time the pain is easier to manage. Its like the pain arrives in waves. The pain also moves around my body.

Hello everyone. Feeling better today, the pain has gone, just feeling a bit weak. i do recognise these symptoms. It happens every time i commit to a totally raw vegan diet. I have terrible headaches and my body feels very stiff, like every cell in my body has been injected with a little extra fluid which makes my body feel very hot, tight and swollen. I find it difficult to bend my f

Hi Azrael I find that if i limit my fat intake then i start craving things containing unhealthy fats like chocolate, which if i give into, lead to other poor food choices. Eating raw since June is a fantastic achievement. I notice (because i too monitor my fat intake) that although there are exceptions to the rule, many long term raw foodists mention that it can take quite a while for th

17th Hi All Khale I draw upon Nelson Mandela's quote regularly. I LOVE it. I don't think that its coincidence that the quote has found its way into this thread! When i am tempted by certain foods or when i recognise that I'm afraid of moving forward i ask myself, what is your deepest fear here/ What is this really about? how will doing this thing keep you where you are? What is you

I'm pleased to see this thread. I have been totally raw again since Aug 1st. My Goal is to stay totally raw this time around. I have experienced two six month and one three month totally raw vegan living periods over the past three years. I have tried many different combinations over the years. (Raw gourmet/ dehydrated goods low fat & sugar, wheat grass, baby greens & sprouts)

I bought the nine tray. I used it for about three months trying out all sorts of gourmet recipes. I found that my body did not react well to dehydrated foods, so i rarely use it now. I still make flax crackers occasionally and take the chill off raw soup in the winter months. The nine tray is useful for dehydrating excess garden produce (if you have the space to store the dried goods)

ladypeace82 A sharp knife and sharpener would be top of my list. I started with a cheap juicer and blender (capable of crushing ice) The first expensive item that i bought was a nine tray Excalibur which i rarely use now as my body does not react well to dehydrated/ raw gourmet style foods. Enjoy

Hi WY I was unsure about juicing beans. I had a feeling that there was a reason that i could not find them listed in juicing recipes. I'm still not sure about the pink seed inside the bean, so i am juicing the tender pod part. I was surprised how much juice I obtained from each bean. I suppose that kidney bean plants become quite thirsty once the flower has set and the bean begins to

Hi Does any one know if Green kidney /runner beans are ok/ safe to juice. My square foot garden has produced a beautiful organic bumper crop of beans this year. I eat them raw in salads, so am tempted to juice them. I understand that the red variety are toxic uncooked. Anyone else juice them? I have done a few searches but cant find any information on this topic.

HI JK I love my Kempo juicer. I am aware that juicing john is not a fan of the kempo.(He and i have discussed this on previous threads) I have used both the green star and the kempo. I bought the kempo. I didnt bother buying the wheatgrass gears as the standard ones work fine and produce very little foam. Its a lightweight easy to clean machine that takes up very little counter space.

Uti, Thank you. I understand that i have been unable to let go and allow myself to just be with the process. I cope ok at the weekends when i dont have to go to work as i let go of the fear of not being able to cope without 'proper' rest. I can relate to the idea that the stress of your judgements outweighed your experience. I believe that im experiencing this. Although Its been a h

Gosia If you have decided to book the gym on Monday, thats great, go for it! Just thought i would share what i do these days with you. I used gyms on and off for years. I favoured the ones with steam rooms, saunas and a pool to vary my routines. These days i have a large trampoline in the back garden. I bought it for my daughter but i use it more than she does. Rebounding is so much

Thank you for your responses. you are all very supportive. Hi Jono love the visualisation! Will try that one, thanks! I was lying in bed trying to get off to sleep again but now i get up and read or do chores until i feel tire

I find that when i switch from high raw to eating totally raw vegan i become very energised, find it difficult to sleep and as a result feel very restless. Inspired by the recent high fruit low fat research trial, i started to experiment with eating this way on 27th march. At first i felt very calm, grounded and at peace. Five days ago, the restlessness and sleeping difficulties started a
