I love E3 Live but I don't know about it in a processed form - I buy the liquid and it has to be kept frozen mostly because it only lasts a few days in the refrigerator.

I'm curious to know the results of Wheatgrass Yogi's WG juice fast? I would predict less than optimal results so I'm wondering if my prediction is correct?? Wheatgrass has a mineral ratio of 1:1 calcium to magnesium, whereas in a normal, healthy person the body seeks a 2:1 calcium to magnesium ratio. But this is what makes wheatgrass so great for healing, as most people on a western diet are magn

Omg those little cucumbers are my favorite food! Man I love those things. They were (still are) a staple of my parents' garden. Yum! My beloved childhood kitty cat also shared my passion for cucumbers - he went craaazy for them, it was so funny. He liked the seeded middle parts the best so my mom used to scoop out the insides and give it to him, then give us the leftover hollowed out cucumbe

Muscle twitches = mineral deficiency. There may be other causes too but that's all I know. Wheatgrass juice is high in minerals, you could try that and see if it helps.

I read a book on that a few years ago - an MIT grad student who had been a technology lover his entire life wondered if technology really does make our lives better - so for his PhD thesis he decided to live off the grid for a year with another student (his "wife". He said the community they found to live in made the Amish look modern - he didn't state its location in order to respect th

I mean basically, one could eat anything green for healing purposes, as long as it's not poisonous. Ann Wigmore's research just made it easy for us. Also I personally have found wheatgrass preferable due to its lack of oxalic acid, which can make the eating of leaves potentially dicey in large enough quantities.

Milk thistle is great for the liver - it's a cleanser & protector. I usually get the Solaray brand at the health food store. I did Dr. Sandra Cabot's liver detox some years ago and it really worked well.

Oh that's helpful, Uma, I'm going to try steel cut oats, because it was the oat groats for me as well that seemed difficult to digest (although I have not yet had occasion to try them fermented & thoroughly rinsed)... but it does make sense that leaving the hull intact may not be the best way to eat raw grains.

I should add that besides the wheatgrass, Ann Wigmore was teaching the eating of raw, simple vegetarian meals as necessary for good health.

Wheatgrass had always been somewhat of a mystery to me, so I was thrilled to learn the whole story in Ann Wigmore's book Why Suffer... I'm sure others have that same vague skepticism towards wheatgrass as I had so I wanted to share with you Ann Wigmore's first experiences with it... here is a little excerpt from her book Why Suffer, entitled "The Wheatgrass Route"... (This takes plac

I lived in Monterey Bay for 2 years, which is an hour and a half south of San Francisco. The Bay areas have strange weather - every single day of the year it's about 65 degrees & foggy. HOWEVER, on our drives going from Monterey to San Fran, I would always notice that as soon as we got far enough east of the ocean, it was normal weather - i.e., sunny. If I remember correctly, it was places li

No, she wasn't saying that the pancreas worked again outside the body, she was saying that there was never anything wrong with the pancreas in the first place - that if the pancreas was functioning like normal in the petri dish, then the problem must've been outside the pancreas, something like a blockage. Also, Lillianswan, I think that Type II diabetes would be the Western disease, but since

I'm reading Ann Wigmore's book Why Suffer, which I love, and I came upon this, which I thought was very interesting so I thought I'd share it... "Diabetes is believed to be the result of the failure of the pancreas gland to produce enough insulin regularly to keep the sugar level of the blood down to the point scientists have determined is normal... Recently, however, a group of research

Growing up, our backyard had alot of vegetable gardens... and I know my mom was definitely anti-chemicals. She was a big fan of using garlic, I don't know exactly how she employed it but I think she may have used it on the perimeters. Also she paid us to find and remove large green tomato warms from the plants - she paid us for each worm that we brought to her. I don't remember her ever compl

Read the book "Sugar Blues" by William Dufty.... not only is it a fascinating book on the history of sugar, but by the end you will not want to ever touch sugar again. However, dates, raisins - natural things like that are of course fine. It's just refined SUGAR that causes problems.

The only kind of similar experience I can think of was that twice, one of my nipples got sore - I attributed it to having eaten more fat the day before than felt comfortable. I was just too lazy to go out and get other food - so maybe the fat had some hormonal effect. And I hope this helps because it really weirds me out to write the word "nipples", especially in reference to myself...

In my readings I came upon a reference to sprouted flour, which I had never heard of before but this company makes it: I'm going to order some and see how it goes... I found alot of interesting information on grains in that website, as well. Here's an excerpt from the website regarding spelt... and what happened to wheat: "Spelt is an old genus of wheat. It used to be called the

I soaked a bowl of spelt & oat groats in water with lemon juice overnight in the oven (the oven was off, but warm inside)... my initial feeling is that they may need additional fermentation in order to be perfect for consuming raw, so I'm going to try soaking them in raw kombucha... and, for experimental purposes, in kefir as well (the ancient way) for comparison.

I'm going to add alot more to this thread but here's a start... below is an excerpt from the following link - it's an article entitled "Be Kind to Your Grains and Your Grains Will be Kind to You": "Grains require careful preparation because they contain a number of antinutrients that can cause serious health problems. Phytic acid, for example, is an organic acid in which pho

I personally don't think it should take a long time. For me it was within a couple days, I felt like a million bucks... but I didn't eat alot of fruit, either. When I started raw I ate cooked coarse barley for breakfast mixed with raw nuts, beans, and seaweed. Then I ate big salads with dark leafy greens. I also ate raw cabbage & broccoli mixed with cooked kamut pastas. For snacks I ate raw b

Lee and Lanie, I think I got that sentence from an article by Dr. Weston Price... it was saying that in yesteryear people ate their grains fermented and they're much healthier that way. When I did the "mucus test" on grains soaked in just plain water (took a bite on an empty stomach and waited 20 minutes to see if mucus formed in my throat)... it did, which would indicate that my bod
