Raw soaked oat groats made me tired too - through further research on the internet I found that I may have been soaking them wrong. It said that grains, nuts, and beans should always be soaked in warm, slightly acidic water... like 2 tablespoons of lemon juice added to the water and left in the oven with just the oven light on to keep it warm. It also said that in traditional societies without mo

I ate alot of raw spelt today and felt really sleepy... I can't say for sure it was that, though, so I'll have to keep experimenting to see what works best. Maybe raw spelt is difficult to digest?

Also, I think I didn't add this to my original story but before I discovered the wheatgrass juice I came upon the weirdest remedy that sounded just plain crazy but I was desperate enough to try it - hot cayenne pepper tea. I found it in a website and the person had all this information on the positive effect of cayenne pepper for the heart. It said that cayenne is heart food and that a piece

Here, I made it easy for you - here's the link to the thread and I also re-posted it right here: Hello, I wanted to share my story in hopes that it might help someone else. As a young, healthy, fit raw foodist for 2 years now, the last thing I ever would’ve expected was to develop heart problems. I thought you could only get heart problems if you were older and ate a standard wes

I love working out on raw because I feel that the learning curve is so greatly accelerated - what was once difficult or seemingly impossible suddenly becomes an achievement.... Fruitarian One's words "There ain't nothin' to, but to do it!" are often in my head.

They're a pretty small and occasional part of my diet - I have to actually crave them, they're not something I can just reach for if I'm hungry. Usually about every couple days I'll eat 1 or 2 bananas. I end up with alot of half bananas left over, I can't always eat a whole one.

I found this on the internet, I was wondering if I really had to sprout grains which seems like so much trouble so I'm very happy to have found this info on simply soaking them: And I would really appreciate my post to be kept free of the Doug Graham pooh-pooing of grains nonsense, I know it's going to end up here so let me just say it - this guy wrote a book called Grain Damage, you can

hmm... spices on raw food, that is a great idea. I have to learn what goes with what, I love the idea of Indian or Thai spices on raw food.

I def mix fruit with veggies - makes the fruit less sweet. But I don't really mix them in a bowl or anything - I just eat them side by side. Like today for lunch I had a zucchini, bowl of tomatoes, and a banana. It was a good combo.

la_veronique, hello! The best magnesium food I know of is wheatgrass juice, since it is both raw and does not contain oxalic acid like spinach. The oxalic acid in Spinach won't be a problem for most people under normal circumstances but since I was eating it daily for several weeks straight in large quantities (along with dark chocolate, which is also high in oxalic acid) I did experience a

Hello, I wanted to make a thread on this topic, in answer to a question I received via PM. I took Zeolite NCD nearly everyday for about a year. I was taking it mainly to increase my energy levels which often felt frustratingly stagnant even on high raw. The zeolite really, really helped with that. On zeolite, I never had any "down" days, except for when I was dealing with actual

A note about calcium - be careful about taking calcium after a workout because the body loses magnesium during sweating & exercise, and if you're already low on magnesium then taking just calcium is a very bad idea, as calcium blocks magnesium absorption.

I didn't feel nauseous; my symptoms matched potassium overdose - i.e, heavy feeling in my limbs, muscular weakness, hot feeling in my chest (potassium relaxes all muscles, including the heart, this is why an overdose can be dangerous), feeling slow and like I was going to pass out... I started regaining some normalcy from drinking saltwater... shortly after the onset of symptoms I began urinat

I would feel pretty comfortable going to a regular doctor for a parasite - it's something that truly did enter your body, and doctors are good at stuff like that. Also there are doctors who specialize in tropical diseases. And you don't HAVE to opt for their treatment - you can just get properly diagnosed, listen to their treatment options and decide for yourself.

Phantom, oh my god, yes!! The wheatgrass - I think it's the magnesium. That stuff has the highest concentration of magnesium of any food I found, it was my number one source of magnesium to normalize my racing heartrate a few months ago - 2 ounces would instantly calm my heart. I hope you didn't feel caffeine-like stimulated in a bad way?? I've found that just the right magnesium level in my body

Prem Yari, I'm so sorry to hear about your health issues. I too recently went through a weird health issue after almost 2 yrs on raw, so I really empathize with how frustrated and alone you feel. I felt the same way. It's frustrating when you can't think of anyone you can turn to. I also felt so angry at the doctors, just like you. I think you may be right about the Karma thing - when I r

For about 4 days I drank the water of one young thai coconut everyday, it was very nice - then I drank an extra half coconut's water, and I got this weird warm feeling in my chest and I started feeling slow and heavy and like I was going to pass out... I quickly did a search on the internet and my symptoms seemed to be matching those for potassium overdose. It said that sodium was the anti-potass

I once worked with a girl who didn't shave anything (I always thought she looked like Eve, as in when you see renditions of Adam & Eve - long dark curly hair), and her boyfriend loved it. My bodybuilder friend Luis used to LOVE hair on women - armits, legs, elswhere.... he always used to go on excitedly about random bodyhair sightings on sexy women. I think the key is to just be sexy -
