many years ago i made a salve for my friends daughter who had severe exzema. i warmed some apricot kernal oil, sweet almond oil and coconut butter, melted some beeswax into it so it would stiffen up, and then put it in a gallon glass jar filled with dried chickweed. then i let it sit in the sun for about 8 hours. afterwards, i squeezed it through cheese cloth and put it into jars. since it had no

i just hope it stops soon! i really like my hair! also i'm wondering if the fact that i did an extended master cleanse for 34 days a few months ago has anything to do with my current depletion. i wasn't really planning on doing it for so long. it's just that i felt so good while cleansing that it was hard to stop. maybe i took it too far. monochromatism, those are all great thoughts. i did

first let me clarify that i've been eating mostly raw for almost three years, with a short cooked food period about two years ago that lasted several months, but then back to mostly raw for the last two years. the last 5 months or so i've been at a constant 95 - 100% raw. so i haven't reaaly dramatically changed my diet or anything. it's just becoming apparant to me that in all this time i haven'

it recently came to my attention that my hair is noticibly falling out! also, my hair is just not looking very good in general. it has no luster. obviously something is lacking in my diet. i've been about 95% raw for months now, but i'm beginning to question whether it's really the best for me. i'm thinking of adding a bit of cooked beans and rice to my diet, or other high protein foods, but i'm

hey emmylou, Here is a kale and chard salad reciipe that i've been eating lately that' s full of iron. i changed it slightly by adding less olive oil and more lemon juice so that the extra vitamin c will help in absorbing the iron. i thought you'd like it.. it's from elaina love's recipe book.. SALAD: 1 bunch fresh kale 1 bunch Swiss chard 1 medium red onion, sliced very thin 2 clov

all this is just another reason to grow our own food. used to be just the meat industy that people had to concern themselves about. now it's greens, and washing them won't help. it's a scary world we live in. i keep dreaming about a raw food commnity where like-minded people can live together and grow their food in common gardens, raise their children, live simply and peacefully and just be g

actually the reason i got the blood work done was because i was feeling really exhausted all the time, and also my bowel movements were a strange color, which made me wonder if my gall bladder or liver were maybe having some trouble. i also was feeling nauseous alot. i really thought i had gall stones and was gearing up for a gall bladder flush, (which i still may do soon) but then all my blood a

emmylou i did some research on angstrom minerals at the nature's first law website. i'm thinking of ordering some angstrom iron, but i'm looking for a less expensive place to get it. i'll post it when i find it.. this is what i found.. Why Angstrom Minerals? Angstrom-sized minerals are 1,000,000 times smaller than colloidal minerals. Research done by the US military and the National

learing about the blood is very interesting to me.. i just looked this up as well.. Hemoglobin (HG - is a protein, carried by red blood cells, which transports oxygen through the body. Hematocrit (HCT or Crit) – the hematocrit is the amount of red blood cells compared to water (plasma) in the blood. Chronic renal failure causes the hematocrit to go down because the red blood cells do not

thanks for the heads up arujula just found this information on the web.. Oxalic acid occurs naturally in quite a large number of plants. The human body also synthesizes oxalic acid from ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Oxalic acid may combine with calcium, iron, sodium, magnesium, or potassium to form less soluble salts known as oxalates. Oxalates also occur naturally in plants. Since oxali

thanks everyone! i'm glad to know about the vitamin C helping to absorb iron. and also about parsley! i'm going to start eating alot of it! i think i'll make some tabouli and just load it up with parlsey! i don't have any hemp seeds (actually i've never had them before but i'm thinking of trying some soon) so i think i'll use sprouted quinoa instead. also the kale and chard salad was marinated in

one thing that helps me when i'm feeling overwhelmed is to visualize what i want to see happen, instead of dwelling on what i don't like about my reality. i've found that intention is a very powerful tool in manifesting reality. the clearer your vision and the more powerful your intention, the sooner things will change the way you want them to. as far as your eating goes, even if it's hard to

i just found out that i'm anemic. my doctor prescribed iron supplements for me but i'd rather raise my iron levels through diet. i'm actually surprised that i'm anemic because i eat salads everyday, as well as some seeds and nuts. lately i've been adding a delicious raw kale and chard marinated salad that's sooo good! i was just wondering, what do all of you eat that keeps your iron level high
