Hi Suvine, By the way, you are beautiful as a brunette. It's fun being blond, but the picture you posted of your natural color is by far the most flattering, in my opinion. The raw vegan community will always give you love and support if you ever go au naturel. Your thread gives me a chance to tell my tattoo story. I was in a supplements class once and they started talking about tattoos.

That is the juicy tidbit that I need to know. Thanks John.

I am thinking of going on a long juice fast before the summer ends, but I think I will still eat fruit. I have too much fruit in my garden and I can't pass up the white peaches and nectarines and heirloom tomatoes. It's kind of like how the Gerson program allows three meals a day. Eating really juicy fruit while drinking tons of juice is still a decent fast, right? Well, a person has to start

Hi John, When a person is doing their first long juice fast, do you have the person drink water in addition to the juices? If they have to drink 1 gallon of juice to maintain body weight, do you also have them drink water too and how much? Also what kind of water...distilled? Thanks

Great article about distilled water: I think I pay more to run my distiller than what the article says, though.

Hi Raw P, Consider Lorraine Day who used distilled water as part of her protocol to heal breast cancer (as I recall). She drank a lot of juices (13 per day) plus lots of distilled water. My friend drank a gallon of fresh juice daily plus lots of distilled water (about a gallon daily) in the form of teas, veggie broth (called potassium broth) and plain water to heal his liver cancer. (He's li

Bluespixie, I think I will try to post a youtube video next week. IT will be my first video. If it's too hard for me, then I will just post some pics. I heard I have to create an online web account to post pics. I also have never posted pics here either. It really is so good. I have to share it with the world. Let more sapote trees be planted. I saw they sell sapote fruit on ebay. It sta

An example of a cooked vegan meat substitute (using fresh jackfruit is best): I was raised never eating pork or shellfish and then I became vegan, so this dish above is not the least bit tempting to me. Yet, I can't believe how some of my friends and family still eat pork, even though it is mainly factory farmed. It is so disgusting to me. Anyway, it looks like jackfruit can be disguis

This video shows the dreaded experience that I used to go through (not me in the video): (By the way, the latex is only in the peel and in the core; it's not inside the fruit, but it can leak when you cut it.) My new experience suggests that the jackfruit is simply not ripe in the above video. This fruitarian knows how to pick jackfruit with no latex. Why didn't anyone teach me this

The asian farmer was pushing me to buy moringa leaves at the farmers market. I looked up the nutrition facts and I was very impressed. Check out the calcium, iron and protein levels. They are kind of chewy and not tender. They have a neutral taste. They are not juicy, so I personally would not try juicing them. I also can't imagine just chewing them. SO the only option I see is making t

SueZ: At 4:19 Dan says amongst other things, that Lou is all about muscles, that back in the day, he would do 92 pull ups and was trained by a Green Beret. All this time on YouTube Lou's been saying he hasn't exercised since high school. Tai: That's like how the coconut boy says that he doesn't go to a gym. WHy should he when he climbs coconut trees? Lou doesn't consider his daily r

Today I bought 10 squash blossoms for $2. The farmer is vietnamese and he said they are asian squash, like kabocha. The flowers indeed taste like kabocha! But I am not sure how to eat the green base and stem because it's hairy. Perhaps I will juice them.

Hi. I bought 4-5 jackfruit over the years, before I finally figured out how to actually properly eat one. Jackfruit is filled with latex and the youtube videos I watched taught to cover your hands with oil before removing the fruit. I did that and I still got latex on my hands and it was so annoying and so tedious, that I would wait MONTHS before I was curious enough to try another jackfru

Suvine: I would like some guidance. Tai: My advice is to make salsa with the hot peppers in the month of august and september while tomatoes are in abundance. For a nice crunch, I add a lot of persian cucumbers (slices) to my salsa, so that I am not tempted to eat chips with the salsa. I can buy the raw vegan chips, but I still try not to eat those. Fresh raw hot peppers are medicinal.

SueZ: Anyone around here still think "reguvalac" will ferment coconut fat? I hope not. Tai: Long before we ever went to a Lou Corona probiotic class, the way we made coconut yogurt was to blend the thai coconut meat with water and let sit overnight in a mason jar. We did not use a probiotic. This is the same way that we made sauerkraut. No one told us that we couldn't make it

My sapotes look like this, except with fewer seeds and much bigger with more fruit. The sapote in the picture looked like it was picked way too early and was not let to mature. I have never seen one with that many huge seeds. Usually, there will only be one giant seed, a couple small ones and a few tiny ones. When a sapote is very ripe, the skin turns a shade of yellow (from green) and gets ve

Freelee and Durianrider introduce the Coconut Boy in this video. Nice to see them all get along so well. Durianrider is beaming and smiling. Coconut boy has never had a blood test or B-12 shot in his life. He makes one statement that I have a hard time accepting. He says coconut helps make food more digestible (because of the lipase, he says), like chickpeas. (How is lipase going to h

I am gluten sensitive, but I wonder just how much gluten can be in rejuvelac. Gluten is the gluey part. The other aspect is that when sourdough is made, some gluten is broken down. Hence, you would think that the fermentation would break down any significant gluten in the liquid rejuvelac. Anyway, the reason I did go with rye is because of the high levels of phytase, which is unique to ry

SueZ wild guess based bacterial strain assumptions and hearsay based views on what is praiseworthy practice in the fermentation process, however. Tai: I tried TSM's rye rejuvelac recipe, and I found it very healing. I once did have a bad batch, but it's because I didn't properly clean my big heavy German crock beforehand. I use hydrogen peroxide and the hot midday sun (and soap) to k

SueZ: I've done a lot of fermenting and can't recall ever hearing, reading, seeing, or experiencing , anything like it before your word on it here - so there's nothing, for any reason, to remember. Tai: This goes back to Brian Clement (and staff at Hippocrates) who have frowned on using the blender when trying to heal the body. This was first widely voiced by Max Gerson. TSM's advocacy o

I recommend finding a mexican market, getting a giant aloe leaf and making a smoothie, blending no more than 10 seconds in the blender and drinking it down. See what happens the next morning. Only use the gel and do not blend any of the green skin. You can blend with water or with fruit juice, like orange and add fruit for sweetness, like mango, but only add a little fruit, or it will be too m

Tezcal: how do you know if its gone 'bad' as opposed to fermented? Tai: Coconut is totally unique in that it can last a long time in the refrigerator (weeks). The way I make mine stays good for a while. Everything else, including nuts and seeds spoils within a few days or a week MAX after blending. When you see pink or strange colors on top, then you know it's bad. Also the longer

I made a big raw salsa today (huge heirloom tomatoes are now overflowing at the farmers market) and added a few really tiny ghost chilis (they were the size of pequins) and it was pleasant. It was a huge bowl that served 5 people. I even added a habanero to spice it up. I just wanted to report that fully ripe juicy tomatoes really quiet the fiery nature of the peppers and I could eat more

This is one combination that I cannot keep to myself...it's so good! Many years ago, I used to enjoy making fresh raw vegan cacao coconut milk, but I think I drank so much that I gave up the attachment to cacao years ago. I just don't crave it. Yet, because I have a sapote tree, and the fruit is SO sweet, I often use bitter cacao to balance out the sweetness. I often make dehydrated foods

In the Evan Rock video at 7:00 minutes, he talks more about his diet. For lunch, he will have a salad of mung bean sprouts mashed with coconut and dried tomato. Another version of this salad contains cucumber and tomato. He will have more salad later. He has two fully mature coconuts per day and about two avocados per day. He claims that one coconut has as much protein as 0.25 lbs of beef.

Watch this Coconut boy climb a coconut tree and harvest coconuts. Raw vegan his whole life, except for a little experimentation. Wow, is he strong! He can walk on his hands like Robert Lockhart. Breakfast: 20 bananas and coconut. The only thing that sounded odd was when he talked about losing a tooth and how it doesn't bleed like crazy like other cooked people. Hopefully he lost it v

TSM: Many mix fruits with greens and all sorts of things, but Brian Clement, myself and many purists will not have a bar of any such eating behaviour. Tai: What's wrong with that? I am innocently asking. I know Brian has criticized making green smoothies in comparison to green juices, but I have not yet heard him criticize fruit with greens. I also have not heard all the videos Many peopl
