johnson's grass has the same molecule common to apricot pits and the prunis family of trees (nitriloside). it is often given as one of many sources in nature for nitiloside, a molecule which seems to have the ability to control the malignant component in a cancer cells according to author glenn kittler. i am talking about grasses that grow common to our yards, in the mountains, etc. and the kind

if you drive a car you may as well drive something that is moving in the right direction as far as pollution is concerned. prius has about 90% less emissions that non-hybrid types of vehicles. i rode a bike for 20 years and finally bought a pick up truck. once i got the truck i was able to do alot of more things and the net result was an improvement all around in my own life. i bought a hybr

you may have misinterpreted the words...infra red and far infra red are different. farinfrared is not a "photo" effect(using your lingo)although it is also found in the electromagnetic spectrum....which incidentally is the reason that life is existing as we know it. and perhaps alo as we do not know it. infra red is a phot effect and it would literally cook you if you stayed under it fo

i have heard of such a thing. it usually associated with those who are well off financially and who prefer the convenience of having their juices made for them. a press type juicer such as the norwalk.... and now the greenstar, gives the ability to store juices under refridgeration for short periods of time. although i agree that there is nothing like making it and drinking it fresh out of th

jonathan get yourself a greenstar 1000 and then upgrade to the 3000 with an upgrade kit, when you feel you would like to use the machine for more advanced usuage.. for example preparing raw food recipes. there is a nice book which is written to help people maximize their ability to use the greenstar for raw food prep....it is called " living with green star" by elysa markowitz(i thin

if anything it contributes to the ability to store the juices for a short time without major degradation occurring. both magnetism and far i nfra red waveths are a common occurrence in our daily lives. we basically live in sea of magnetism from the earth and the electomagnetic spectrum emits the far-infra red wavelength along with visible ligh and other wavelenghts continuously. i have a far inf

please don't copy me...i don't scub unless i feel they are needing scrubbed and i only cut off "slimy" tops and discolored tips. if the carrot has new growth out of the tops i let it juice too. but like i said don't copy me, juicin' john

z star is an ez to use handcrank in the 75- 100 dollar price range. top of the line is a greenstar...you won't be disappointed ..it chews up and spits out the juice of a handfull of wheatgrass in mere seconds. othere machines will struggle to do what greenstar does in a few seconds...not only that you can juice almost anything in it. a little slowing with carrots than the centrifugals but a mu

jodi i hear you about the analysis paralyis thing. it totally inhibits the free flow of mind body integration. i go with the flow of my gut feelings. alot of really amazing and beautiful things have a chance to take form and flow when we dont get in our our own way. its just like the centipede when he was asked what foot he pusts forward first. just do it!!! jj

sorry jgunn....did not mean to disappoint you. yogi seems to be pretty knowledgeable about his omega 4000 comparison. i'm not the typw for weighing and measuring. i eyeball just about everything i do. yogi seems like a pretty decent sort of person and i will give him the benefit of both juicers making close to the same volume of juice. if one surpasses the other it likely will not be by a signifi

ygi i dont have the money to be buying all these machines like you seem to do so i am not able to speak about the omega 4000 since i have noit tried it out. but i have a pretty good idea form using both the non-pulp ejecting and the newer pulp ejecting types. both have proven themselves as sufficiently wasteful in my experiences. as i incidiacted to you in my above post, i am not about to waste

perhaps you are correct... but i have got better things to do in my life than waste my time with such a request sorry. you can't juice anything but hard stuff like carrots, beets etc. my greenstar does everythingincludoing carrots. perhaps your omega can do agood job on carrots but that's all it can do. sounds like i may have ruffled your feathers. another thing you may want to consider

i think you appreciate the ggreen star. i read your other post regarding the frozen deserts and wheatgrass and when you add on the ability to store juice for a few days.....you are really qualified to get yourself a greenstar which will do "all of the above". the green star ahas biocermic far inmfra red wavelngth technology which help in allowing your to store your juice for a 48 hou

my guess is that he just doesn't value juicing as something important to him at this time. without the value the clean up is the first excuse that comes to mind. if you really value something, it would be difficult for negatives to get in the way. if you could get him to read a book that will impress him about the beneficial things about juicing, for example a longer and higher quality life,

sorry wheatgrass yogi.....i think you missed the point of what i was saying about centrifugals. its about throwing away juice with pulp ...flat out throwing away your hard earned money ...especially with the high cost of organic and for that matter just regular veggies. as far as speed is concerned....its only a matter of a couple of extra minutes and as a side bonus my arms get a little wor

my advice to you unfortunate people who got suckered in on the jack lalanne thing is stay away from centrifugals. they are all basically the same as far as wetness of pulp is concerned. i learned my lesson they expensive way too! sorry wheatgrass yogi the omega 4000 is also in that category. juicin'john

i would like to dispel any confusion for the benefit of new people who are try to secure the most value for the money they invest in a juicing machine. 1. greenstar delivers the highest efficiency of any machine on the market for greens. they other types either seem to "struggle" when displayed side by side to a greenstar... and they do not do hard veggies like carrots and beets any

without any doubt whatsover...greenstar is the most economical juicer. more juice per pound and a wide spectrum of "juicability". have actually been juicing my lawn for free. (dandelions and all) because of this high efficiency ...i would say that logically the greenstar will actually pay for itself...based on the savings with free stuff which is available from nature and the risi

hi everyone been away for a short time..nice to be back. first aof all i would like to comment on clean up of any machine. alot of it has to do with your attitude, if you a negative minded person about the chore it will be more of a chore....if you have a positive attitude about it ..you will breeze right through it like it was nothing. but we can always have better tools to work with

i mowed my lawn today. i need to use a lawn tractor because it is too big for push mower. i really hated to do it since it looked so beautiful...but it was about to get to a point of being hard to manage, so i mowed it. i saved a nice juicy section for last and directed the chute of the lawn mower so that it would collect in the center of a small area. next i went in the house and got a
