I licked/sucked on the mango seed once, to get all the fruit, and suffered a poison ivy rash all over the outside of my mouth. I found out it is related to the poison ivy plant. It took cortisone therapy to remove it. this was 10 years ago. So I do not recommend it. Btw, I am not allergic to anything else! Janice

Bryan, So you eat fresh corn? Your body digests it well, or do you chop/grind it first? Do you dehydrate any fruit/veg? I continue to learn what can/should be eaten raw, besides the basic obvious foods. Simple prep or whole natural foods seem best imho. Janice

To Aquadecoco and Sewraw, I do drink a lot of water, and have been vegetarain/raw for 2.5 years now. It appears that the problems began from an injury, and progressively got worse over the years from work, falls, life in general. I have been going to chiropractors for the past 23 years, off and on. For the last couple years I only have an excellent massage therapist working with me at the chiro

I have suffered for years with mid back pain and some numbness to one side. I had an x-ray and MRI done that shows 4 herniated discs(with one extrusion) and a compression fracture, all in the thoracic region. I take occ Ibup. and Tylenol, rarely Flexaril.I try ointments, patches,,; ginger epsom salt baths, etc. My Phsyatrist (DO), had me make an appt with a spinal surgeon. I've been reading about

Well,Suncloud, I think you have a lot of useful thoughts on the subject. Personally, I started using B12 dots, alittle pink tab you take sublingually for about 2 mos now. My husband(a meat eater) also uses them for energy. We both have some degree of digestive histories, and feel it may help us. It can't hurt, as it is a water sol. vitamin. They are quite inexpensive too.I am "clinically&quo

Hi, sorry for your illness. You will probably need an MRI of the area. I have a swelling in the back of my neck, that was checked for Hodgkins, but luckily it was neg. for lipoma. There is a 7x4 mm lymph node present, of significance they are not sure. I am now seeing a physiatrist who is trying to help me with the chronic pain and stiffness in the neck and shoulders. That being said, raw fo

Jen, Just to add, I have read about people who have done special cleanses that you buy, and they have weird "parasites" come out of there stool that they can see with the naked eye. I t makes me suspect that they put something in it to make that happen , so people think it is really doing something. I like Master Cleanse cause it's natural. The SWF did not bother me, but I did not use

Jen, Be patient. The rewards will be worth it. I did it 3 times. you are right, it is hard to let go of the fear of the change in routine. So many people I have talked to, given the info to on the Cleanse, just can't do it. So give yourself credit. It gets easier each time. Exercise, do your work, and you will feel new energy. Follow the guidelines, they are important, esp., when you complete the

I read on this forum that yerba mate can stop the growth of gray hair. Besides drinking it, can putting it in the hair as a rinse help as well? Anyone here try it? I did once so far. Thanks, Janice

La Veronique, I love your enthusiasm, you are an inspiration. I have been thinking about the same thing. My daughter is getting married in a month, and it would be a good thing to do for me. I have talked to her about this for herself, as she tries diets(mainstream) and it makes her sick, she stops. To fit in her gown better, she should loose some weight, and a juice fast would give her mo

Lucky you!!!!! I spent 2 days there when on a cruise. I hated to leave, and vow to go back and spend a full week. Could not bring back any fruit, but my guess there would be lots of fresh great ones! Please let us know how you make out there. Green with envy, Janice

I think the medical comm. is using the link of chol to heart disease to make money for the drug companies. All that aside, I am curious to find out from the vegan/raw , health conscious people on the forum, if they have tracked their levels, along with HDL/LDL levels to see improvements from former SAD diets to the present. Because just a vegetarian diet that still includes, dairy, coffee w/crea

I got a recipe for vegetarian sheppards pie. It says to add nutritional yeast. I only found the kind that has milk/whey in it. It is highly nutritionally packed. Has any one used a vegan form of this. I am lactose intolerant, so I don't use milk anyway. Thanks, Jan

thanks to Ally-- I will look up Dr. Furhman. Thanks to David and Argula. I do walk when I can- I love it. I work out a a local gym 2x a week. I just need to find the courage to try this. My BP and pulse have been normal for the past year, so I feel better. My life is good, but I have had a few bad experiences with depression in my life, but stable since Feb. 2001. My husband does not like to hea

I would like to ask if anyone has been successful in cleansing, then slowly weaning off medications, and other habits, like coffee, etc. In Stanley Burroughs book, he said he did not want to be on meds for high blood pressure, and this is what led him to do the cleansing(if I remember correctly). I currently am on meds for depression, anxiety, high bp,occ. tachycardia, and GI problems. I ha

Hi! I ate some fresh raw spinach a day before they came out with the bad news. It was loose, from Produce Junction in Pa. The manager assured me I most likely was safe as it was not bagged and he does not get his spinach from that source. But he said I could return the rest and get another veg in place of it. It is also likely to be in a mixed salad from a restaurant, etc. God bless us all!
