I love white tea. I use it in my kombucha.
I love that it was supposed to have been used in the most formal tea ceremonies in China. Sounds beautiful, huh?
So I also use it in my most formal tea parties. y'know, with my teddies and dolls and stuff.

you obviously feel very passionately about this issue. I am interested in how you feel about eggs. I hear many people saying 'well, they're unfertilised so it doesn't matter'. I'd be glad to hear your take on that.
thanks.

603. Re: I am cold!!!!
I got cold too when I first started raw. But lucky me, I was living in a really hot climate at the time, so it was a bonus! As time has gone on I have found that my body copes better at a wide range of temperatures - cold or warm. I now live in the UK so we get all kinds of weather... I find I don't feel the cold (or the heat) as much as other people seem to.

you could also try Casa de luz, it's a beautiful little macrobiotic restaurant -of course they do cooked foods, but they also have good salad. and it's such a lovely place (:
but whole foods rocks for the raw stuff... try the lasagne mmmmm and the carrot cake mmmm mmmmm

I empathise with your feelings, during my first couple of years of rawdom I often went through periods of intense doubt and fear... I think fear is actually a big part of the journey... embrace it, you will find out a lot about yourself within it...
anyway, I suffered from a lot of the things you talked about - most dramatically the weight loss... I lost A LOT, it was really scary..

Bryan - you mentioned Cousens - the articles you posted seem to be against culturing 'anything' yourself - I was wondering about that, as Cousens has a section in his book about making seed cheeses/yoghurts etc. This seems to me to be similar to making kombucha - messing about with bacteria etc... so I would guess that he isn't totally against us 'amateur' fermenters (:
As for the sugar aspe

I wouldn't worry about it. I've been making my own stuff for months now, I love it, but I don't get any kind of alcoholic buzz from it.

I'm growing some quinoa greens at the moment... not sure about whether they're good or not as I've never tried them before... but either way I'll just sprinkle a few over salads, I don't have a juicer.
maybe you just had too much?

616. Re: Raw lunch to go
I like marinated type salads for when I have to take a lunch anywhere - prepare them in the morning and by lunchtime they're good n ready. Greens obviously, with tasty stuff like sun dried tomatoes, olives, mushrooms that kind of thing. With a homemade vinagraite dressing - olive oil, ACV, fresh herbs etc. Onion and garlic would also make tasty additions, unless you were worried about the smel

completely agree. I went on a bit of a cacao trip this weekend after receiving some bars in the mail, and it definately has a disagreeable effect on me. Similar to how I used to feel on amphets. but granted, I did eat far too much of the stuff (;

you raise a very good point there Ally.
I guess it's a good idea to have a stock of seeds in, at least. Like Kulvinskas says, there may come a time when seeds are more valuable than gold.

Shine on
I just soak the seeds overnight, then rinse and drain them in the morning, then sprout for a few days or even just eat them straight away. You can find plenty of recipes for them in raw books, make yoghurt and cheese etc - although that's all a bit technical for me lol... I just use them in salads, sprinkle them over, or blend them up maybe adding a little herbs/spices for extra fla

O+, raw over 3 years, doin great (:
hey, Jeff - why only nuts/seeds when 'the cravings kick in'? Try incorporating sprouted seeds on a daily basis, you may find they help tremendously. Ground up flax seeds, sprouted sunflower/hemp/sesame seeds, all really easy to do. And of course the green smoothies. Gotta do the green smoothies (:

my last batch was 14 days old cos I was away - man was it vinegary! In fact, I've been using it in salad dressings instead of drinking it! And I used a little mixed with nettle/camomile tea as a hair rinse. If I drink it, I just use a little bit in water. Can't wait for my next batch to be ready, hopefully it'll taste nicer (:
I love this thread, it's like a kombucha support group (:

I don't know anything about candida, but may I suggest you add green smoothies to your diet? It would be an excellent way to add more greens. You could make a smoothie with green apples - which you seem to like (: - and celery/romaine or something like that.
ps sorry, I'm not bryan, just in case you didn't notice (;

oh that is sooo funny!!! I'm picturing you with big bunny ears hanging out with them all munching the nasturium!!
If I was gonna have a pet it would be a rabbit. I would house train it and share my meals with it! We could both chomp on either end of a carrot stick.
I wish bunnies would come and hang out in my garden (: so cute (((:

good test Gram!
so what kind of sugar are y'all using?
I've been using Rapadura raw dehydrated cane juice. That Harmonik site recommends simply using white sugar, but I figured I may as well use the good stuff (:
