Ah, it's hosted by a 3rd party - that makes more sense, as I didn't think you would personally want to profit from other peoples' information. I wouldn't buy Ning's line about it being for the benefit of the community - it's simply for marketing purposes. From Ning's privacy policy: "In its operation of the Ning Platform, and its provision of its services to Network Creators and T

excellent list I'd like to add to it: don't watch TV. I say that cos I was just watching telly (Britain's got talent - my Sunday afternoon guilty secret lol...) and I noted that the majority of the adverts were for food (high fat/high sugar food of course). Really good, entertaining adverts - obviously extremely well funded... My poor bf was drooling for pizza each advert break lol. No

I know Uncle Harry's do some clay products. I'd love to try them but the shipping charges to the UK are so much. If anyone knows of any UK company who sells Uncle Harry's stuff I'd be really interested.

Hi Debbie that looked like it would be an interesting forum, only problem was I got about halfway through the sign up process and got bored filling in all the required info about myself... I know it's nice being able to see what books/movies etc people are into, but maybe it would be an idea to keep it optional...? Started reminding me of Facebook and how they want you to put every little detai

interesting question! I find when I include non-raw food in my diet that, while sometimes making life/social situations 'easier' I do feel it physically/emotionally. more mucus,I get the odd cold once in a while, plus my whole body feels kind of stiff, like I feel the need to do more yoga, kind of 'stretch it out'. I definately experience a lot more PMS, again, physically and emotionally (when

funny, I just tried something different this morning and had some 'cereal'. I had some raw oat groats that I soaked overnight, mixed them with some nuts and seeds, then for the 'milk' I blended orange juice, a banana and some of the oats. It was good! different from my usual juice or smoothie. Very energising, has filled me up for hours! Not the best food combining though I guess you cou

I remember reading an article a while back about avian flu and how it was most prevalent in highly industrial areas, leading to speculation that the birds were actually dying from the air pollution while the authorities blamed it on bird flu so they could then market vaccines, fear etc from it, while covering up the real cause. Wish I could remember where I saw the article, it was really intere

yay Tamukha! I just love synchronicity!!! I was the same, took ages to get round to reading it cos it looked like some kind of bible or something, but it's an awesome book, all about the power of positive thinking, so inspiring! xxx

OK... this may sound weird, cos I'm all for raw etc... but I think it's a mind thing... like, if you 'believe' you're gonna get sick as soon as you eat cooked food... then you will... In my experience, I've been through times when I couldn't even eat a handful of roasted peanuts without getting sick the next day... nowadays I'm still mostly raw, but I eat cooked food whenever it 'suits' me... I

I've been hearing a lot of stuff about spring water lately. Not the kind you buy in bottles, but finding your own free supply out in nature... there are some utube vids on it, just search for spring water. David Wolfe is big on it. I'd like to find some sources around here (I'm in Scotland). I tried my first 'natural' water the other day, up a mountain in Glencoe..it tasted absolutely beautif

The problem with constantly munching is that it creates an acidic environment in your mouth, which can lead to cavities etc. Best to eat 'proper meals' (whatever they are lol) at regular intervals. Always rinse your mouth out with water after eating, esp fruit (or maybe water with a little sea salt in or natural mouthwash). Don't brush until at least 1 hour after eating (again, due to the acid

forget protein denaturing, here are some of the REAL dangers of raw foods: Making a smoothie and forgetting to put the lid on properly... Juicing beetroot in a white top... Leaving banana skins on the floor... Eating spinach without any floss to hand...

excellent, thanks Omega! it's sad, but juice bars do seem to have a short life... they're just not as profitable as processed drink places.... I was queuing up at one of my regular haunts once, not really paying much attention, then I looked up to find it was now 'Mandy Moo's milkshake bar'... they were putting sweets and stuff in the drinks! And the queue was huge :-/

thanks so much everyone, so much great advice! EZ/Nywyn/David/Suncloud/Katra - yeah, fresh fruits etc would be great, I find apples travel the best (bananas always get a bit mushy lol) although the tricky thing for me is that my long-haul flight is preceded by a shorter connecting one, which rules out fresh food (not allowed usually to bring it into another country)... so I guess I'm left with

not that I should advise eating unconsciously/as a form of entertainment... but lately I'm just LOVING spinach... simply eaten out of the bag, has its own savoury taste without adding any salt or anything. Remember to check your teeth before coming out of the cinema though

I would love to hear any tips on what to eat during these for simplicity and practicality... in the good olde days it was so simple - a couple of flasks of smoothies and you're good to go.... now of course it's all changed... :-/

ebhak I've never tried to get them out of their shells, couldn't be bothered, it would take ages lol. I just eat them as they are in their shells, with a little sprout tail poking out... usually in salads, or blended. I've got a jar ready now actually, thinking about making some bread or something with them... just looking about for recipes...

we can get them unhulled in the UK no problem. soak and sprout for a couple of days, no longer, cos they go bad after that - they're still in their shells u see... but they're great in smoothies/ burgers, etc. a little crunchy cos of the shells... but makes for a nice texture in burgers... I rolled some up last time I used them and made them into 'meatballs'... You can also get special hemp mil

that's a great story Kris, way to go! I haven't had any children but it bothers me to see what my sisters go through during pregnancy and after the birth... they are so entwined in the medical system... I hate the control pushed upon women... ANYWAY... I just wanted to say Erin that it happened to me too for a couple of years, no menstrual symptoms at all... but they came back... I'm regular as

I love nori wraps, wakame, dulse etc, by Clearspring. All these are often available in supermarkets and stores such as Holland And Barrett. But I REALLY love sea spaghetti, sold (hopefully still) by funky raw. (www.funkyraw.com) xx

lovely advice by EZ rider... Patty, have you tried something as simple as looking at your diet and seeing if there is anything in particular you might be eating that may be causing the gas? For instance I find that wheat can have that effect, even sprouted. You could also maybe try a tablespoon of cider vinegar in warm water to ease any discomfort in the short term. Or possibly look into
