I'm very vata too iandthou. Yes it can be tough! I'm in Scotland and it's cold and wet here right now (37F today). Funny to think of India being cold, I always imagine it as being really hot... at least, it was lovely and hot in Chennai when I was there! I wrote an article on how to stay warm on a rawfood diet in a cold climate, here it is, hope you find it helpful.

I think it does take more time than the average diet. Most people are outsourcing their food prep in various ways; eating processed food that has been pre-made, or partially pre-made for them. Hence the name 'convenience' food So when you start doing everything from scratch and making sure your food is pristine then yes, it's more time-consuming. You can save time by eating more simply

Sushi is raw fish, and sashimi usually includes cooked rice, so it's up to you whether you want to eat those things (the only rules on a raw diet are the ones you make up yourself). If I'm eating at a Japanese restaurant I usually opt for a seaweed salad, they're so nice. If you're eating at home you could try making your own raw vegan versions, they pretty easy: Nori seaweed sheets (the

Great stuff, yes, I'm fascinated by all this. The way I see/feel it, our internal microorganisms dictate/direct our food choices & cravings. If we can clear them out (ie, detox) and create an environment that is conducive to peaceful healthy simple/raw food-loving microorganisms (ie, eat a living foods diet with some fermented foods to encourage the process), then our cravings disappear

TSM, your flax sprouts are beautiful! thank you for reminding me to sprout my flax! I have fallen into the habit of keeping a jar of soaked chia or flax in the fridge for adding to smoothies etc. More for my boyfriend than me, as I do more juices then smoothies. I hope soaking is enough to sufficiently reduce phytates.. but I'm not sure. I occasionally 'live on the edge' heh heh and eat

Here in Scotland it's damp and chilly a lot of the time, and I include herbal teas as a regular part of my diet. Yep I know they're not raw, but they really help me to keep my spirits up! I don't boil them; simply heat them very slowly over a long period of time till they're hot. I use herbs out of the garden such as sage, mint, nettles, dandelions etc. It feels nice to be drinking something

Excellent points iandthou, conscious eating is so healing. I've heard of retreats where people sit and eat together, but they are quiet and paying attention to their food. This seems like a lovely way to eat with others but also remain conscious to the food. If I'm eating with others it's usually in a restaurant setting so I eat very minimally anyway, just a small salad or something, as ther

Hi LaV, ume shiso is a seasoning, it's made from the juice of fermented plums. SO tasty! I found it in a little health food shop up in the highlands of Scotland, I haven't been able to find the same one online anywhere, the closest I've seen is Ume Plum seasoning, made by Clearspring.

That video does look interesting, thanks TSM. Reminds me of the book 'Money by the mouthful' which tears apart dentistry. Free PDF here >> The thing about clays, as I understand it, is that they are said to pull a lot of rubbish out of your system so you are more able to absorb minerals. I like to do a bentonite/psylium kind of shake every once in a while. Except I use green cla

I haven't personally cured any cavities on raw food, but then I haven't gained any either, fortunately. I did heal tooth sensitivity by oil-swishing. You might be interested in this book by Tonya Zavasta I haven't read it myself but I might buy it, it looks interesting. Good luck!

I have a water butt (big bucket that collects rain ) and I use it for watering my plants, and drinking too. For internal use I distill it first to remove any impurities it might have picked up falling through chemtrails and whatnot I have heard that after the first rainfall it becomes much purer and is fine to drink as is, but I'm not sure how long you need to wait for this to happen.. guess

Thanks Suez. I used to like the way traceminerals made my water taste. I might give them a whirl again. wow, your nettle tea sounds strong! I have some growing in the garden so I just use fresh, I guess it's not so concentrated.

Thanks Tai. I love mint tea, it grows so easily in my garden, plentiful supplies Suez, yes the DW really seems to grab all the minerals right out of the plants. Nettle is one of my favourite teas, such a lovely mellow flavour. So I take it you think it's best to also add trace minerals in - do you not think the plants on their own are enough? Or do you just like the taste of the trace min
