Yes I remember Narz well He was on the Sunfood forum as well back in the day (ha I sound like a granny). He was on my facebook for a while, but I haven't seen anything from him for a long time. I miss a lot of raw peeps from years ago too! A few of them are friends with me on facebook but the rest have just disappeared into cyberspace....

Just chiming in on your question Tezcal cos it's a subject I'm REALLY interested in! I've added things like chlorella and spirulina to my ferments (kefir and kombucha) and it makes them super lively - they fizz like crazy. So I reckon it's making them much more potent. But I'd love to know more of the science behind it, like what's actually happening; what nutrients are increasing/decr

This is timely! I'm just soaking some sunflower seeds to make a 'mylk' out of, I'm planning to add kefir to ferment it into a kind of yoghurt-type drink

It is interesting isn't it? I remember reading here ages ago (perhaps it was suncloud who wrote it? I can't remember) about somebody who grew a lot of her own food and ate it unwashed, but still had problems with low B12. I'm currently supplementing as my levels are pretty low. I'd love to find a way to do it naturally (although I'm not prepared to start eating my @#$%&, lol).

Ahh such cute bees Suez! And yes La V, nasturtiums make any meal look fancy I picked some sage leaves today then as I walked across the garden I noticed a little bee buzzing around after me. Then I realised I had a bright purple sweater on.. I think it must have mistaken me for a huge sage flower

Radish, clover, sage, nasturtium.. all beautiful edible flowers and vibrant hardy plants with amazing health benefits that grow SO easily, honestly all you have to do is plant them and they'll keep coming back year after year. I have them in the garden and love watching the bees enjoying them The leaves are great in juice too. Here's a pic of my radish flower/apple water kefir

It would depend where you are in the world - some countries ban the sale of grow-able hemp seeds I'm in UK and get mine in bulk from Funky Raw.

Yes that's Mary Suvine! If you scroll down she posts quite often in that thread, sharing little stories about her granny, I loved it! Yes hay fever is pretty common in this country, I haven't had it either since going raw. My brother suffers really bad from it though. Nettles are COOL!!! So nutritious and easily available. It's good to pick them at the right time though, spring is best,

Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone can share any links to studies/research/decent scientific articles with refs etc on the effects of processed food on the mind/emotions. Stuff like gluten, msg, etc. It would be really helpful for some articles I'm writing. Thanks all xx

I was searching for hayfever remedies for my brother and I came across this forum thread: Aside from all the good hay fever advice, it's well worth reading through the posts from 'Realfood Mary', she shares some charming stories about her granny and how she went vegan, but didn't even know it - she called it 'keeping the black fast'! Honestly I was in tears at some parts, truly touching

I really like oil-pulling, I've done it for years. I used to get sensitive teeth and it stopped that. It's supposed to make your teeth whiter but I haven't noticed any dramatically whitening effects, but it's probably hard to know as it would be such a gradual thing. I think its main affect is to keep the gums healthy, which is so important. I would guess that hemp oil would be an excellent

Hi, I came across these 'effective microorganisms' and wondered if anyone knew if they would be similar to the syntropic microorganisms - Prana, I remember you mentioning you use syntropic MO's, any thoughts?

This is a very valid point Suez. As I mentioned previously, ANW lumps together a few different protocols as part of the regime he recommends. Which makes it difficult to ascertain what exactly is causing any health improvements. He also classes a few different substances together as 'distilled water': fresh juice, urine, machine-made distilled water, and rain. Of course these things are a

This is a very interesting discussion. I drink distilled water, and I've followed the work of Andrew Norton Webber, but I'm a bit circumspect about just chugging down 1 gallon a day, as ANW suggests. I don't usually drink much plain distilled; I mainly use it to make teas, ferments etc, so it makes me feel more confident in drinking it knowing there are minerals from the fruit/veg I've soaked
