Yes it does doesn't it Prana! Tai, thanks for the clarification of bigu, interesting. As the years go by on rawfoods I do find myself very gradually transitioning to a lighter, simpler, more liquid diet.

Thought I'd share this article as I found it totally fascinating. It's about ancient fasting practices, parasites and 'bigu' (grain avoidance). Reminds me a bit of EGOP. A long read but worth it.

There's a 'celeb' type figure here in Scotland who is starting to cure her alopecia with a raw food diet, here's a link to a news story on it, they call it the cabbage diet, but it sounds like she's simply doing raw food (maybe with an emphasis on cabbage juice.. that would make sense, the sulphur would probably be helpful) I think stress also plays a large part in hair loss, so it wou

Hey guys, I wondered if any of you know of any good juice bars or raw cafes in the Playa del Carmen area? I checked on line but couldn't really find any reviews of anywhere in English. I'm mainly looking for ones that are nice and clean, as I have heard some horror stories about eating raw produce in Mexico. Thanks! (So excited about going, by the way - any other tips would be most apprecia

thanks Commonsenseraw. Where did you get this info from? Has there been studies done on it? I was wondering if fermenting the peels would be the most potent way to do it.

I thought this blog might be useful to some of you as Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It has some tips on how to cope with all the pressures of eating raw around non-raw folk. It's written with Christmas in mind, but works just as well with any social occasion that revolves around food (as they all seem to do nowadays!) Lisa xx

Yes I sunbathe every chance I get, winter or summer. I'm lucky enough to have a large window that faces the sun, so I can sit inside naked and get as much sun on my body as possible. I get some work done on the computer or something while I sunbathe. Sometimes I have a hot water bottle if it's really cold Nunativs your life sounds amazing!! What do you do for a living?

Dschare, I love holosync, I've been doing them for years I'd say keep your affirmations quite vague, as you will be using them for a long time, and your plans for what you want to create in your life may change over time. I can't actually remember what affirmations I recorded now, as I did it so long ago, and they're not audible on the CD! Also remember to word everything very positively - eg

Hi folks I put together a list of Raw Food Suppliers in Scotland, so if you're Scottish, or thinking of visiting Scotland at any point in the future, you might find this helpful. It includes juice bars, raw chocolate makers, organic produce deliveries, health food shops that specialise in local / seasonal / organic food, and even raw pet food

jtprindle, re the sea spaghetti, I'd try soaking it for longer than that, overnight even, then marinating in oil /lemon juice / spices, that way you'll have more chance of it tasting like pasta

I wonder if most people are so far away from the natural state of things now that they wouldn't even know what to do with a veggie patch if they saw one... would they perhaps be more worried about where to get their supply of medication / booze etc? Loving Prana's comments, so true. I saw something recently that described the Apocaplyse as an awakening; an unveiling.. people waking up to

Nice find Coconut Crème! I'm a hypnotherapist myself, ( ) I specialise in weight-loss, so I find it really useful to incorporate some suggestions to eat more raw-food so my clients reap the benefits of better health into the bargain I don't have a CD though, I work one-to-one with people, that way I can find out what is making them eat unhealthily. Everyone has their own issues that driv

I wonder whether fermentation is an alternative way to get B12. Guess it depends what you're fermenting. But I kind of see fermenting food and drinks as something as an antidote to this sanitised world we live in. I like to let those wee souls have a party in my food before I eat it

I have used an earthing (grounding) mat to sleep on for several years now, but I recently heard that Daniel Vitalis is saying they aren't good for you. Does anyone have any thoughts / info on this? If it's true, I'll be really disappointed, as it puts my mind at rest that at least I get a bit of grounding when I sleep. Thanks.

I haven't seen any specific numbers with regards to the chia / phytic acid. I'd love to see more research on it myself, there's a lot of conflicting info out there. I've even contacted some of the 'raw gurus' about it when I see their recipes with plain un-soaked chia seeds, but I haven't got a reply :/ So I just like to play it safe and sprout them. At least that way you're maximising the nut

I just used it in the initial seed soak. But I would imagine it's also beneficial to add some when you water.

Hi La V, here's the recipe, approx, I didn't write it down at the time 1 cup butternut squash (chopped) 2 cups almond milk 1 tablespoon coconut oil Handful dried coconut 1/2" chunk of ginger root 1 teaspoon curry powder 1 teaspoon turmeric you could add salt and pepper to taste as well if you wanted. Blend. As for feeling full, I literally felt full all day from this soup!

La V - I make my own kombucha, so I flavour it how I like it. Here's a blog I wrote with the recipe to my favourite kind, I make it from dandelion root so it's caffeine free (tastes a bit like coca cola!): I also make water kefir too, just get the water kefir grains and flavour it with coconut water or sugar water, it's super easy, probably the easiest way to have fermented food in your d

La V - I did see some fantastic buskers, there was one band I loved, called the New Orleans Pussycats, they did some cool vintage style music Panchito, I just bought produce at the markets, didn't see that logo, but thanks I'll bear it in mind for next time.

I've used a little sole (sea salt solution) on my wheatgrass and other sprouted seeds in the past. I just add a few drops into soak water.

Raw soup is good for that full satisfying feeling. Try something like Ann Wigmore's energy soup, or experiment with your own. Start with a base of tomatoes, add avocado, some fresh herbs, etc, and you're on your way I'm going through a little phase of loving soups lately, in fact I'm just about to make a creamy butternut squash one now

I recently had a little trip to Barcelona - ohhhh what a fantastic place! I've been many times before but never really stayed long enough to appreciate all the fantastic things to do there. Before I went I was searching online for raw food restaurants etc, and didn't find much info out there in Googleland, so I wrote a blog about it when I got back - here it is: Has anybody here been to

Thanks for bringing up this subject La V. I get frustrated when so many recipes (by 'experts' lol) include nuts & seeds, with no mention of correct processing. Especially CHIA seeds! They're chucked in everything these days and looked on as an amazing superfood - I guess a few every now and then wouldn't be so bad, but what if people are getting carried away by all the touted benefits and
