I understand what Bryan and Gosia are saying. But in their excitement over their new found abilities to hear their bodies they seem to have forgotten that everybody's body speaks.

Intuition individualizes Principle. Principle takes precedence, as without principal intuition has nothing to work with.
Let's say that Principle is the head and Intuition is the neck. Intuition therefore mediates between head and body. Cut off the head and intuition is useless.
Many people try to use their intuition without knowledge of principle. I have a friend who is grossly overweight

This makes a lot of sense to me and actually seems obvious once I thought about it awhile. Either cut out the fat or cut out the sugar because the combo is problematic. I personally have had no problems with Candida, but I know many people who have or do.

As for eating the banana whole: I wouldn't eat the peeling, but the white, stringy stuff near the peel is very important to eat as it is very nutritious and provides enzymes that help digest the fruit. Christopher Vasey, N.D. says this of all fruit. The seeds and the peel provide enzymes that help in the assimilation and digestion of its own "fruit" or pulp, so its good to include these

CoconutCream is right on.
Everyone has candida. What we think of as Candida is actually an overgrowth. We are all host to a zillion little buggers that actually have a function in our bodies. The trouble comes when these "buggers" start taking over and their wastes (again as CoconutCream pointed out) is what really makes us sick.
Candida is primarily a yeast overgrowth (rather th

ya got me there coco. I have a very casual relationship with Kombucha. I treat myself to one occasionally for the ride home from the health food store, but its not a part of my regular diet...so, I guess I never really thought about it that deeply. I suppose that somewhere in this brain of mine I realized that there were sugars in it as that is generally necessary for fermentation, but the

morning Mallow,
I've noticed that you've posted several times here with a problem with bloating, heaviness and etc. If I'm not mistaken you've also had problems with Candida. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
On one occasion when you posted a problem with bloating and stated that you had a Kombucha tea with your meal, I suggested the culprit may be the Kombucha, especially taken with meals.

What time of day do you eat them?
"Ole school" teaching is that sweet fruits are best eaten in the morning.
Try eating bananas for breakfast only for awhile; see if that makes a diff.

...and Bryan, I did read your previous post and the article cited in support of it. But again, if you go on a low-fat diet what gets eliminated? Meat, cheese, butter/margarine and etc, ie all animal products. All high-acid foods too btw.
So how can one determine whether the improvement comes from the weight loss, the elimination of saturated, or animal fats or high-acid foods, or fats, regardle

Awesome video! Thanks James. My mother suffers from diabetes mellitus and I've been studying and researching trying to help her get control of the blood sugar.
Methinks I heard mention of avocados in this video.
Very inspiring. I can't wait to show it to Mom.

What is the relationship between fat and candida Bryan?
Candida, according to my current understanding, indicates an over-acidification of the body, or microform overgrowth. Since most high acid foods come from animal products (the exception being cereal grains) then saturated fats follow. My point is that not all fats are saturated, nor do all come from animal products. I don't think its spli

What would be your definition of "thriving" Thomas?
Sometimes the key is in the definition.
Many people equate "feeling great" with lack of struggle, and yet "struggle" is intrinsic to life. No struggle; no life.
Most of the disciplines you cited take years of persistent struggle to bear fruit, and even after the fruit life does not cease to be a struggle.

yeah, 80% raw is not hard at all and is especially cleansing and beneficial if you eat raw for breakfast and lunch as you've to all extents and purposes accomplished a daily modified fast.
Fruit for breakfast as a smoothie or salad takes care of one raw meal and a large salad or crudites with a good quacamole or other dip and you've taken care of another raw meal at lunch. If you keep your ev

that's just a basic question, right?

too funny!
Nevertheless, if you do stare at a pear for one hour something will definitely happen. Whether or not the pear becomes less or more acidic is completely up to you.

Yeah but no. Mashed potatoes, no milk no butter, are still higher in glucose than a baked potato, no milk no butter. The process of boiling and mashing changes the potatoes composition. My guess is that this has more to do with what happens to the fiber than anything else, but that's just a guess. Same goes with tomatoes. A raw tomato is less acidic than a cooked tomato. Period. Whether you add a

"How does cooking a veggie make it more acid? That's a confusing one."
Anything you do to food changes its chemistry. Carrots are somewhat different grated than they are sliced. Baked potatoes have a lower glycemic index than do mashed potatoes. Tomatoes are much more acidic cooked into a sauce than they are raw. How this happens or even why I can't technically explain b

Raw, leafy green veggies are abundant in minerals and phytonutrients and are extremely valuable for food. Fruits are abundant in vitamins. Vitamins work best when partnered with sufficient minerals, so fruits and leafy vegetables are a good team.
One of the objections I hear to a predominately veggie diet is the amount of fats that are typically used to supplement them, as veggies are very lo

Ya Vej, lentils are the least acidifying of the legumes as is millet in the grain category and yet ALL grains and legumes are more acidic than alkaline.
Again, if you are eating 100% raw these distinctions are not as critical. If you are cooking your lentils instead of sprouting them, then you may be concerned to have your legumes with alkalizing vegetables to balance things out...but lentils

One of the reasons the whole acid/alkaline thang can be so confusing is that different nutrition writers approach it from two different angles. Some approach it from the acidity or alkalinity of the food itself and some approach it from the relative acid or alkaline effects on the body.
Lemons are a good example: They are an acid fruit that has an alkalizing affect on the body. Bananas on the
