IMO, the best brand is Natren. Very high quality stuff, and they have non-dairy versions. Their Bifido Factor(bifidobacteria) is great; acidophilus is over-rated. (See Dr. Anderson's "Cleans and Purify Thyself" for why).

I highly recommend brushing your teeth right after lemon juice/lemons, or at least rinsing your mouth out with water a few times. Cheers.

Yeah, Granny Smiths are basically very unripe apples. That is why they are so acidic and the skin is so thick.

Hey innervegetable, Ever try eating those straight out of the pod? If you didn't know, that's not how cacao beans beans are normally sold. Oh, and that doesn't look anything like a chocolate bar to me. ;^)

Hi shep, I don't really know too much about those supplements, so it's hard for me to say. I think following one's intuition is a good idea, especially like you describe: observing to see if your perceptions are different after you've taken them. In my experience, in a body free of stimulants even a mildly stimulating food or supplement can have a dramatic effect on one's psyche. Cheers,

Hmm... good question shep252. I would have to say first, that if one were to consume it, I think the fresh leaf is probably the best or "healthiest" way to do so. However for me, I don't think I would, because I'm realizing that being of sober mind is VERY important for my personal growth and subsequently that of the planet. So I would say it's an individual decision. Cheers,

Hey Michael, Here's a south Florida tip. Stop whatever it is that you're doing, and proceed immediately to Athens juice bar, either in South Beach or north Miami Beach. Order the fresh pressed coconut milk, strained, in a tall glass preferably. You'll thank me later. Cheers, LTF

Personally, I think you can overdo coconut water. Coconut water is actually the endosperm of the coconut tree, and it is meant to serve a purpose in the reproductive cycle of the plant. This endosperm contains hormones that if taken in excess, may interfere with the human reproductive system. Cheers, LTF

I would point your friend not to raw literature, but to Dr. Dean Ornish's work on healing heart disease with diet and exercise. It's all backed up scientifically so this may appeal to your friend. Cheers, LTF

<You shouldn't just be telling someone to go off their meds. That is simplistic and dangerous.> rooneyandmuldoon, I did not mean to imply that someone going raw should simply stop taking their medications. Weaning is always the way to go. When I wrote 100% raw + 0 meds, I meant that as a potential future goal, and not simply to stop taking one's medications. David Mason's advice is

Personally, I would find a different, more nutritionally aware doctor or other professional. Generally, however, medical doctors are invaluable in that whatever they tell you to do, simply do the opposite and you'll be fine. If you eat raw, especially 100%, you can wean yourself off any medications as your brain chemistry returns to its natural function. Raw fruits and vegetables contain the
