Ha! ha! Thanks LaV. I have a healthy respect for nature...and cherish the chance for some 'close encounters' here in Florida....which DO come up. Snakes...spiders...very common. The other day I'm out walking and two adolescent deer bolt on the opposite bank of the canal....trapped outside of a long fence. I got to watch them walk and bound up and down the side of the fence.....unable to find thei

The sun doesn't have to shine directly on your skin...you'll get SOME benefit...even on a cloudy day. You can also eat some mushrooms - which might help. -David Z. Mason

I like time with family, computer games, poetry, literature. Meditation and exercise I find peaceful. Many times I find nature more challenging and fascinating rather than peaceful! Ha! ha! The other day I had a snake just DROP out of a tree nearly right on me! No worries....I don't taste like chicken. -David Z. Mason

Right. Most people will linger until they get a post that echoes their situation, interest, or conflict. Then they might post. Genuine curiosity is great...and refreshing....while there are always those who are far more concerned about how the arrow was manufactured and who fired it.....rather than simply removing the arrow and stopping the bleeding....heh...heh. I agree that if one posts their o

Hello. Great questions. I'll take a stab: 1) There is plenty of bio-available protein in an all-raw diet. You should only eat as much fat (even raw fats) as you feel you must to maintain weight and condition. I think the 80/10/10 are some pretty good guidelines....and 10% fat in a day is more than enough. A good guideline for beginners is to try to eat your fat (nuts and avocados...etc....IN y

Hey LaV! Just my 2 cents: The initial call out/call in is where the spike of emf is. After that, the levels become much lower. For those who use cell phones, I think having an ear device - or simply relying on the speakerphone option is a good idea....so you are not jamming the thing next to your brain. When I get a call, I usually put the thing on speakerphone and just plop it down on the de

Why not? I've eaten both with no ill effects...although I cannot say they were the BEST and most appealing raw things I've eaten. I'll do some more reasearch though. -David Z. Mason

100. Re: Angry
Right...I agree with Bryan....LaV and the other intelligent posts. YOU will have to determine the reason why you believe you are sick. Anger is only the first stage....after that comes courage and action. Anger is a middle stage. It is only important that YOU are doing what YOU think is healthy. That's all any of us can do. If what you are doing is not working for you....ask your inner child

I think health is not about single events in your life (including surgery). Get past this crisis any way you can....and eat lightly....focusing on plenty of fresh juices, smoothies and soft veggies (like sprouts)...until you are healed. Then proceed to eat as simply and carefree as your health allows. -David Z. Mason

Yes. I agree with Debbietook. The immature meat can also be a great treat! I never had one at all till I went to RawFest back in 2007.. I believe. -David Z. Mason

My own experience is that you won't - although you will definitely have to test on more acidic fruits like pineapple. Since many fruits are often available under-ripe as well....this will be important to watch for. Simply brush your teeth as normal...and I imagine you will be fine. -David Z. Mason

Right...the biggest break is always the one from refined carbs. If some one can find a way to get away from that....BIG congratulations! Note: it is quite possible...and (in my opinion) preferable. Heh..heh. -David Z. Mason

I agree with the above. I've eaten several squashes (butternut, acorn, spaghetti....and some other darn things I can't remember). Spiralizing them into noodles is a great idea...as is small-chunking them into your salad. If they digest ok for you, then no problemo. -David Z. Mason

I think many...or maybe even most folks are going raw on their own (I know that I did/do).....not having another person going raw too. In any event, no one ever eats quite the same or at the same level...even long-term raw food people. -David Z. Mason

When one has a very bad reaction to fasting, my advice is to break the fast...and continue to cleanse more gradually with juice fasts, healthier eating, enemas, sunlight, exericse, etc. -David Z. Mason

It's been a while since I made a post, so I just thought I'd offer some advice to new raw-food eaters and experimenters. Explanation: the trouble with most long-term poor eaters (and I was one) is that one doesn't even realize one IS run-down and out of energy.....especially after eating. Experiment: Just try eating a large amount of one food at a sitting. JUST that one food. Make sure you

I have purchased and eaten raw, green peanuts in the past. I was not impressed with their taste or sustaining value. This was just my personal experience/opinion. YOU may find them very sustaining for YOUR stage in YOUR diet. I support you 100%. -David Z. Mason

I have heard that too much coconut CAN be a diuretic. I ate all fruit for many years (although I have recently returned to a mixed all-raw diet). I still eat all-fruit most days.....but a few vegetables as well....mainly Romaine, carrots, etc. I think it has to do a lot with the stage the body is in. Some people are VERY clean internally....and very energetic and positive....and a high-fruit diet

Everyone's metabolism is different - and can change over time. Due to poor food combinations...one's metabolism...level of activity....and the amounts of food eaten...some manage to retain or even gain weight. I doubt that avocados alone are making you fat. My opinion (without knowing more about your diet) is that you are probably eating combinations of foods which are poorly digested (in your ca

Ha! As mentioned, peanuts are another legume (bean) that is roasted or fried in oil to a nut-like consistency. This is also done to soy beans (soy nuts) and corn (corn nuts) and others as well. They are all tasty - and not so good for you. You decide. Heh..heh. -David Z. Mason

My own experience is that freezing is fine for those not concerned with eating 100% raw. There is little nutrient loss - but freezing does crystallize water and burst cell walls...degrading the quality of the food. If it works for you, go for it. -David Z. Mason

Yes. I CAN tell you that it's probably better to get the occasional under-ripe one (which is usually still edible) rather than a mealy, over-ripe or out-of-season one. To get a ripe one, you are looking for a bright creamy yellow patch where it lay for a while in the sun. You will look for a more woody stem. You will use your palm to test for very firm skin....but not rock hard...or yielding/

My answer is no....but the real issue is....is the individual following their own 'matrix' for what THEY think is healthy? If so, they have mental/spiritual health....and the body must surely follow. -David Z. Mason
