How do grains make you feel?: Grains make me violently ill. i swell in my joints, my skin gets an uncomfortable layer of water retention. my bowels get very swollen and gassy and i alternate between horrible movements and painful constipation. i've actually had it to where my eyes were swollen shut and i couldn't close my fingers b/c the reaction was so intense. Have you noticed any health

Fresh- i found my champion made the best nut butters, the omega only makes nut flours so that was actually what my champion was used for in the years when i never juiced in it..... almond butters are great though i must confess to being a ridiculous fan of macadamias walnuts naturally seem to separate into oil and thick paste pecans make flour never tried cashews.... have fun

LOL!!! my dad always said vegans tasted best.... this makes such total sense. i can smell when my husband is sick, or eating badly, or anything like that. and man, i am picky about smells! my husband had one friend who was very good-looking and nice, and all my friends thought he was a hottie, but i couldn't stand to be around him, and actually started to dislike him because he smelled

i'd have to dehydrate and pickle. cause winters in new england aren't exactly, um, fruitful. but if i did that, i think i could live most of the year off of what we grow locally. in the summer, we buy all our veggies local, and if i could keep my apples year round, i would be quite happy. we grow enough apples, berries, greens, etc, to feed the majority of people. i don't know about all.

it feels great when the humidity is a little lower.... we're in a third floor apt with no airconditioning, 150 feet from a river it's true, it doesn't smell rank, but it's a bit much for us, since after 8 hours it's kinda caked on and salty we call it our sauna and joke that it's keeping up really healthy it probably is but i'm still rinsing off twice a day.

Durh! raw almonds, one per half date, is the most amazing desert ever!!!! i didn't even think of it for this thread, but it's so quick and i love serving it to my husband for dessert. he always appreciates it when i share my dates.... cause i'm kinda selfish about them... i'm working on sharing. i really don't do a lot of fancy preparing, i just buy whatever fruits smell irresistable at t

it's funny- i'm totally an HSP, i'm not big on therapy except self-awareness and discovery but i'm NOT the person that most people would identify as HSP. like khale, introvert but an introvert with strong extroverted coping mechanisms.... meaning i'm the chatterbug at a party, i'm the flirt and the laughing girl who tends to gather a crowd, my favorite movie for many years was Reserv

if you use the Fertility Awareness Method, you can NOT get pregnant. because of the simple fact that if you're not near ovulation, sperm can't reach the egg and no babies are made. but there is the hang up of no sex for up to five days before and then during ovulation. or during periods. but it's nice because even if you are using contraception and something happens you know if y

1) raw for 3 1/2 years 2) 25 3) less sensitive before raw, on the test, but actually just less aware of how my sensitivities were causing all the chaos and confusion in my life. 4) wondering if how my pain threshold can be so high (48 hours of labor, only 4 with drugs) and yet my sensitivity to my physical discomfort (bloating, aching, digestive discomfort) is so intense? always has been.

i don't measure, and i don't dehydrate. when i first went raw, i tried to sprout/soak everything before making the bars, and that was a terrible messy yucky failure (though my dog thought they were amazing) i use enough dates to make it sticky, enough nuts to give it the right texture and to cut the sweetness. usually it's a couple more dates than nuts, for texture and binding. a cup of

i'm a huge anti-pill girl. as a hormonal teenager put on the pill at fifteen, and kept on all the different kinds over the years, none of which worked to stabilize my cycle (turns out it is just 47 days long, and the pill couldn't fool my body about it). i'm a HUGE fan of Taking Charge of Your Fertility, which is also known as the Fertility Awareness Method. i avoided pregnancy for two years

i have an omega 800?- i cut off the tips, but never chop the carrots i cut them in half ONCE IN A LAVENDER MOON but then again i quit juicing carrots a little while back. but now that i think of it, i cut them all the time into pretty julliened pieces for dinner so slender and pointy so good knives make a huge difference SCHWAMPO!!! i'd love one of those i used to play with th

i've w/ juicin john- get the nice one, you'll use it and appreciate it a lot. and give/discount your champion to a newbie. i sent my champion to NYC for a budding raw foodie boyfriend of a dear friend. i it would be something they could do together. since we're all broke students, it's nice to be able to give such a useful and rather pricey gift. i didn't have the money for greenstar, t

if it works for you, enjoy it if it doesn't (it gives me tummy quivers, but once a month i try it because i love the flavor) don't do it. raw rules listen to your body after you've cleaned it up and rehabbed it from it's junk

ugh, i haven't eaten broccoli in YEARS now. i tried it a few times at first, but puked it up after i got pregnant in 2005. and never touched it again. i agree, with above info. if you don't enjoy it raw, then don't eat it raw, and in my book, that generally means i don't eat it. not buying veggies that i don't eat raw helps keep me raw and gas free. i've slowly removed fruits and veggies

i actually felt GREAT after the first day of raw. i was so excited, and went into the second and third day with high hopes. but the third day i felt really drained, had cravings, and really couldn't believe i wanted to stay raw. so i'd eat a little something cooked, usually rice-based, felt like crap that night and the next day was dedicated to raw again. i found this to be my cycle, i coul

he eats huge salads with lots of greens, seeds and some fruit. i was shocked to see it, b/c he still eats a lot of non-raw food. when home, he's forced to eat raw, or cook for himself, but he'll make brown rice and lightly cooked veggie stir fries for himself 99% of the time. or just eats my salads and fruit. but recently his tastes have changed and he LIKES tomatoes, he prefers fresh

i really thought all these people were just finally noticing themselves more or something, but i wasn't sure about eye-color changing. until i noticed my beloved husband's eyes. he had the BROWNEST eyes i had ever seen. i had never met someone so dark a brown. the other day i was gazing into his lovely eyes, and they were HAZEL. grey-green around the outside and brown in the inside. i'v

count calories? i couldn't begin to do that. and every day is so different. depends on if i go to the beach, walk 5 miles, or just run around the house all day (which involves at least 9 trips up and down two flights of stairs and chasing a person knee-high from one disaster to another), and i just trust my body to let me know what it needs. four tomatoes one day, two avocadoes the next? o

after drinking coffee for 10 years, usually excessively, going raw helped me cut back to a more sane amount of coffee. but raw after a few years led me right away from it. it gives me a stomach-ache, a twitchy, agitated feeling, and shaky hands. i prefer my green juice now to give me a lift and a clear head. and talk about long-burning energy! peace-
