LOL!!! i was surfing the internet tired (chasing two year old) and slightly off (newborn baby and absent busy husband) and wondering what to do when i came here oh you wonderful people!!! my husband says to people (often snidely) 'She MONO-EATS'- as if it is weird, unhealthy, and problematic. of course, i get here, and i feel right at home. thank you all so much for sharing these

i'm with coco on this one.... with both my pregnancies, i was raw before pregnant, got pregnant and knew it b/c i wanted brown rice. (blech) or something odd like that. the first trimesters i was raw, usually green juices and lots of fruit. but come the second trimester, i needed some starches- potatoes for me. and brown rice. both times. and then, at the end of the second trimester, i

mine has always been around 97.2 it's not that low if it's higher i'm pregnant if it's 98.6, i'm feverish. if it's over 100 i have strep throat and cannot move. my kiddo has a lower temp too. what determines whether or not it is 'too low'?

LOL!!! i remember those days- for me it was poetry slams and cold tennessee winters i can't remember the last time i actually wanted one but i hope you've worked through this i find i want stuff like this (pleasant distractions) when things are off but they don't actually help quiet meditation and a pampering (massage? yeah....) help me work through it.

i noticed that mine used to get warm, but never hot. never above body temp really. so still raw. it was close enough for me while i ate almond butter- esp if you're able to find truly raw almonds...

126. Re: Rash?
Thanks all! we've had the yeast thing in the past- his dad is prone to it, but his tongue is pink and healthy- and nothing on his tail either- so if it is yeast it's kinda different than usual for us. i can definately trim back sweet fruits. i think i have zinc oxide cream- i wouldn't think of using it on his tummy usually.... but i'll try that. there's nothing on his bum- it's perfectly

127. Rash?
my almost two year old son has recently developed a persistant, non-irritating, but rough and red rash on his tummy and it's starting to spread a little to his thighs. it's mainly on his chest and stomach- i can't figure out what has changed- his diet is 85% raw, and the only shift recently has been a lot more citrus. and then i wonder if it's because of lack of sunshine b/c this is th

seconding the love and joy directed at the 'unplanned'- from one unplanned child with another unplanned child in arms and one 'almost' planned child in utero c'mon- even when you're consciously 'trying,' it's still a huge surprise. and shift. and what sort of parent you are and the relationship you have with your child has nothing to do with 'preparedness' or how many classes you've tak

mmmmmmm- sleep. i look forward to seeing it again before 2009 i hope. i like to sleep 8-10 hours a night, but pregnancy limits that as does a potty-training during the night kid. and late-night paper-writing hubby. i won't sleep as much as i like for a while, but i will dream about it in the meantime. sleep is beautiful, amazing, pure and refreshing, why worry about enjoying it

i haven't pushed the veggie thing with my kiddo. i'm a fruit girl myself- so i figure i can only model what works for me. green juice- man, my kiddo will drink kale/apple/carrot, spinach/carrot/apple, spinach/banana/pineapple, etc- if i drink it, he does. my husband is a little weirded out by our juice and his son's enthusiasm for 'JOOOCE!!!' sometime my kid will look at me and make a snide

veggiefreak- i wouldn't go totally raw from cooked overnight. but i found personally that a diet primarily of fruits and fresh juice worked wonderfully for me when i was breastfeeding. i had one friend comment on how yellow and rich my milk was when she saw it sitting in the fridge (very very fatty). yes, coffee and donuts are bad, but you don't want to be detoxing into your baby's food sup

Gotta love this thread- we're all so different- i see some people doing what i do, and others finding other things that work for them. i'm with the water only crowd in theory- especially for my hair i did a no washing experiment while pregnant with my first, and my hair LOVED IT. it became very vibrant, full-bodied, curly and i got a lot of compliments. i then would wash occasionally

LOL!!! i've never been a dairy lover, except for occasional raw cheese, but i've also NEVER broken a bone or had any bone problems. i think because dairy is so hard and bad for my body (personally) that i actually store more calcium from fresh greens and foods and seeds than from the 'usual' sources. as for the teeth thing- i grew in one wisdom tooth- i called my mom b/c she had them all

second everything coco said. i confess to not staying high raw during parts of my pregnancy (pineapple really left me hurting and curled up next to the toilet), but i think eating out is a hard way to go if you want to get back raw. i would listen to your body. drop the sweet. i roasted veggies for a while, sweet tatoes, onions, garlic (lotsa garlic), potatoes, things i NEVER eat. some b

i know Whole Foods in Santa Fe did serve fresh unpasteurized citrus juices. With a big warning label. my local farm sells unpasteurized apple cider- very big warning label. it must be labeled unpasteurized with the warning from what i can tell. i don't invest often, but now that i'm out here away from fresh grapefruit juice that i didn't have to squeeze, i miss it and i will occasionally

pakd4fun sounds a lot like what i see myself continuing with in raising my son. i have to admit that he does prefer our food to others because he always feels good eating our food, but he gets gassy, constipated, or otherwise disturbed by eating standard food. and he's the only kid i know who will try and usually like any fresh food. as for schooling, i plan on using a homeschooling/unsc

sleep i slept 18 hours a day with my first during the first trimester- this time, less sleep=nausea/morning sickness it goes away. it does. i remember when i finally woke up again. but i also remember literally being unable to stay upright because of fatigue. i don't think it's diet at all (um, fish and chicken could CREATE morning sickness in some of us) i juiced, and slept when i

Congratulations! it sounds like you have a lot of fat and protein in your diet, which are the two things that people worry about most with the raw foods diet. i had to develop a very thick layer of skin concerning my diet/health/weight and pregnancy. the first time. now, doing the EXACT same thing for a second time, people are more hands off and can see that my first child is obviously be

vitamix! brilliant. i'm glad your boils are clearing up. my friend swears by wearing cabbage in her bra. and if you can't get cabbage (it's really cute, frilly and green) raddichio is another option. These both draw out infection really well. and they look nice too... my husband and i were given a free sample of formula when we left the hospital, and we decided we'd just give it to our

now i'm going to go research unassisted birth. i've dreamed about it, and am feeling kinda led in that way. Angie- i'm sorry about your hard experience. we had a rough first birth- not a c-section (the midwives were amazing) but a sunny-side up delivery followed by two weeks of living in the hospital. i thought i was going to go crazy stalking the nurses to make sure they didn't give fo

Coco- i wish i were secure enough to just trust myself to deliver alone. my goal is that. i don't like all the pressure from everyone else. but i'm just not that confident yet... any advice? as for fruit- that's the majority of my diet. i ate potatoes in the second trimester and some fish, but now i'm too big and want only raw clean foods again. okay- i'm not 'big', but the baby is ta

angie- i feel for you. when the little one feels bad, the world literally crashes at your feet. i found congestion to be related to teething often with my guy- he would get runny noses, slight fevers, etc, but if i reached in and rubbed his gums, there was always something going on. i never succumbed to antibiotics- not that his doc ever pushed them on me..... good luck expanding his

love this thread. i was skeptical but after a 40 day juice fast, my brown-eyed husband went hazel- grey/green outside, brown inside, and they haven't gone back. my eyes are green now, with slight fluctuations toward brown but our baby has the clearest blue eyes they've been crystal blue since birth and i wonder if my raw diet while pregnant as well as raw/unprocessed diet daily

i second all those who say don't go 100% raw vegan while breastfeeding. add in as much raw as you are comfortable with, but then also eat a variety of things. i found i really wanted juices and raw food while breastfeeding my first- but i had been 75% raw during my pregnancy. but if i wanted a cooked meal, or something non-vegan, i went for it. i had to maintain a very high fat diet, an

three omega fans... i think mine is a 8001, but it could be an 8003- same machine since i use it at least once a day, i admit i'm a fan. if i had more money, i might look at a greenstar, oscar, etc, but i confess to enjoying my omega a lot.
