we FINALLY broke the candida cycle my husband has been struggling with for years- he's not raw or vegan, but he eats whatever i make him unless he's in the mood to cook. mostly he absorbs what i talk about and over the years adjusts. so the key things we got rid of- wheat -in all forms corn- except fresh, but even that only rarely beer- man loves him some beer, but it's really BAD, grows

one less thing i think should be controlled by the government- my children would put me way over the top- which i think is irrational. an ecologically aware family of five can be far better for the environment than a conventional individual- and probably will be due to finances. and i disagree that the world would be better off without people. the presence of a beneficial/beneficient human

i just read a book called the Autoimmune Epidemic on top of my other research and have only been reinforced in my ideas against vaccinations the author is very pro-vaccination if parents fight the standard protocol- which hurts many children- a better standard must be set- i'm not completely against vaccinations, but whenever i ask my doc which one is absolutely necessary at this visit

i've done one, three, seven, ten and 21 day juice fasts- and never needed an enema or laxative during that time. usually my body would have small but soft stools (excellent for post-baby recovery) during the times i wasn't eating, but since there was not a lot of waste, little was passed after the first few days. my husband did a 40 day juice fast and by the end was quite cleaned out- after eat

i get a similar thing, a rash on my chin, when i eat grapefruit daily- not when i drink the juice, but when i eat the fruit. i eat it in a way where there is a lot of skin contact. so if you're eating grapefruit by using your teeth to remove it from the white skin, then that could do it. my son gets it sometimes when he's eating too much citrus- but it's a burning from contact with the skin,

a note of encouragement- you don't have to be able to cook at all on raw foods- good ingredients taste good, and all you have to do is eat it! and raw foods are minimal preparation. recipes- check out the recipe forum- but really, large salads with greens, smoothies with fruit and greens, just fresh food cut in nice ways is the way to start. elaborate gourmet raw foods recipes only complic

i'm with the menstruating doesn't mean bad crowd- after going raw i've had two pregnancies and breastfed for over two years now. i didn't have consistent cycles before- only six a year- but after getting cleaner and cleaner- i went to a 28 day (moon based) cycle with no bloating or pain, and 3 days of very light bleeding. i also deliver my babies based on the moon's cycle. i think there

i'll look into my files- getting someone to take pics of my eyes is a little harder than it should be- but i have old pics where they look browner- it's also hard to tell as they are very lighting sensitive and pick up colors around them. i need a pic of JUST my eye. self portraits have all turned out blurry.

if they only knew 1/100th of what goes into keeping bodies healthy- you should check out a nutrition calculator and look into the vitamin/mineral content of many fruits and veggies- you might fight your B6 (folic acid) consumption is plenty high- and what you're getting from nature your body is using far more effectively than supplements. research spinal bifida- this is the birth disorder the

jen- i've gotten that once or twice- when i first started i would use very diluted castile soap mix- but then i had to condition and the cycle had to be broken again. now if i need a heavier duty wash, i use warm salt water. or a dip in the ocean. then a little light conditioning if it needs it. though usually it looks great until i sleep on it. or i make a big batch of rosemary infuse

break out the greens- i juiced kale, spinach and collard greens for the first trimester, along with a variety of sweeter fruits and veggies. adding a touch of ginger helped pick me up on those harder days. but i ate around 7 or 8 oz of greens daily. and then a ton of fruit and veggies. pre-natals were impossible to keep down except for one two month stint in the middle of my pregnancy when

salmon is especially parasite rich- for sashimi it has to be frozen a special parasite killing way, and is never served totally fresh. salmon parasites like human guts a lot. and the freezing process does change the nutrients a little bit. tuna, being deeper water, has few parasites that transfer to human bodies. i no longer eat either, surprisingly, since i live in NE by the ocean. lik

i'm the heavier raw girl- but since i'm also bearing children and breastfeeding i'm going to be okay with that- i'm 5'4" but weigh more like 125. even slim i weigh more than most b/c of my frame and heavier bones. but when it comes to fat i listen to my body. i eat more when i need more, and less when i don't need it. i love the light, airy, free feeling i get when i go low fat for a

LOL!!! what a great thread! i actually do enjoy the taste of wheatgrass juice, but i might just be addicted to the high... i drink kale and collard greens and spinach is by far the least offensive, but everyone in my family drinks them all and wheatgrass is not especially offensive to any of us....

i use an olive wood ethiopian hair pick, or another pick made for curly hair (african styling tools can be very useful). but i only do this once or twice a week. the rest of the time i let it run wild. usually i comb it dry, then wet it with my hands and the sink until the curls unify. used to do wet combing, but heard it wasn't good. but i always wet it after picking. i never brush- i

i just recently learned that dog @#$%& is notorious for leaving browns spots on the lawn. i checked my lawn, and no brown dying grass anywhere, certainly not in her chosen @#$%& spot. does anyone know if this is due to a healthy diet (mostly raw with occasional cooked lamb from my husband's restaurant)- or what the deal is? she won't eat dog food (from puppyhood), and her @#$%& decomposes

i've been 'no poo' for so long now that i can't keep up- i tried commerical shampoo once over christmas and it KILLED my hair- limp and dry and struggling to even curl. so i have 'long' hair now (i shaved it three years ago, and before that it was hip length- so i just now realized it counts as long when it's past my shoulder blades)- very curly- and i do use occasional salt water or rosemary

okay, i'm only 85% raw a lot of the time- so my kiddo gets soaked rice ground and made into pancakes and pizza dough- with pureed tomatoes and veggies on the dough to simulate pizza (daddy gave it to him.) but he doesn't notice if it's cold and the tomatoes aren't cooked. he loves salads and eats dinner out of my salad bowl. almonds, sunflower seeds and all. smoothies are always a hit, and

sure- train all parents to school their children (through government funds, since the system will be saving 12 years of school fees) or even better- all graduates of the school system automatically qualify as 'trained' since they've been through it and already passed therefore qualifying them. as a college graduate, and a grad school drop-out, i would desire that all my children's teachers be

do these people somehow never read science fiction? or even, something a little more accessible, mythology? i learned in Latin that the story of man and gods is about man's hubris screwing things up.... science has a little bit of hubris, doncha think? we can make better animal/human eggs than nature can..... my husband brought home an article on biotech foods- because science can do it

i don't have pics- will try and get some i just had another baby and she has blue eyes too for recessive genes, we're doing pretty well! and my eyes are more grey-green than brown. though my husband has been fattening up on restaurant food (new job) and his eyes only have the grey ring- not the hazel tints. i'll post another time with pics of our eyes- my boy has ice-blue still, and

oooooh. a big question. i always had problems with foods- cravings, constipation, dislikes, vomiting, etc. when i hit puberty i couldn't stomach most foods, i either threw them up or felt ill for days on end. when i got married, my husband noted "whenever you eat bread, you get very sick"- so obviously i has started to eliminate foods in bulk to keep healthy. my grandmother h
