i'm laughing at the taking charge of your fertility thing.... so true- i didn't plan on my son- but i sure knew he could happen. i DID intend on trying for my daughter, but we missed the chance, i slacked off for one day in the cycle and there she was. (but the benefit was i knew i was pregnant the very day i got pregnant. i just had to wait five weeks to test positive.) so FAM is grea

my happiness and peace aren't from eating raw- but i do find them easier to maintain when everyone feels good. my husband swore for years that wheat and gluten and grains didn't make him feel bad. then he stopped eating them. and he could notice the difference. some people do very well on them, but bowel issues are usually a sure sign that the grains are behaving badly in one's body...

ooooh- bananas? really? i think that would shock the hubby. or make him wonder what i was up to.... or i can just see me in line at the store and my son giving me a hug and announcing loudly that mama's bum smelled like oranges. ooooh- banana please.

? never know what will be lurking in this forum... with cloth baby diapers, i did separate loads- would never mix with towels or clothes. as for our @#$%&? well, it's the one paper product we buy. you know, i'm not anti-technology- bidet? i'd love a bidet. but until then, i think using toilet paper is a good option. would prefer hemp or recycled totally i'll start bu

no recipes for sprouted bread here, unfortunately, though theoretically, ezekiel bread comes from a recipe found in the bible- i've never looked for it. we don't do grains, not even sprouted, b/c my sensitivity to gluten is so severe. the grain thing is what brought me to raw foods (i tried to go 'gluten-free' but eating SAD style, and found it only gave me partial relief from my physical

they won't find toxins in blood- they never test for that. i got WIC for a very short period, but ended up giving it all away to others in need in our neighborhood- i didn't eat any of it (carrots are nice, but i don't really like them....) i lied. there you go. i'm more educated, more aware, healthier, it's easy to see that my children are phenomenal, and i lied to prevent harassment.

date rolls- medjool dates are preferred b/c of their rich caramel flavor- but all dates work- i use my juicer or my food processer- so whatever you like. 1 cup dates diced fine until mushy pack together into rolls or balls, then roll in coconut refridgerate and serve i also do 1 cup dates and 1 cup almonds processed together until 'smooth', re: mushy/sticky, and packed into a cake pan

a lot of good suggestions here. my first instinct would be to cut out all grains, any processed whole grains. my son is 2 1/2, and occasionally has brown rice, but that's it, and when he has gotten wheat or other more processed grains, his normally very easy bowel movements become a little worse. now, granted, this kid has never been constipated in a serious way, nor has he ever felt like ho

i second Coconut Chronicles on the info she gave- used this combination to avoid and to concieve in a timely manner. the combination of all the different factors really gets you familiar with your body- and the benefit is that there is also the joy of knowing EXACTLY when you get pregnant. i'm breastfeeding now, but will start cycling again soon, so will be back on the methods.

So- husband is raw vegan- so we finally get to go out to the raw vegan restaurant nearby (which i've stalked, but never ordered from b/c of money) he's tired and dreadfully wants to go- we have an uber-pregnant friend who wants to do ANYTHING to distract her from discomfort, and we decide to go. well, her husband calls and decides to come. some people are closed-minded, and somepeople

vibrational energy- we're say things like that all the time- i catch bad vibes like mad...... and i give them too sometimes. no matter what happens in the long run, he'll understand his body a lot more. candida is gone. weight control is easy food is good, filling and really satisfies his mom is FURIOUS b/c we're going there and he's not eating pies and cakes and all that CRUD

David Zane Mason has a lot of wisdom on this- i'd check each of his points very carefully. if you get to the last one and say- nope, none of these, i'd be shocked. my husband admits that he's only tired because of his attitude toward raw veganism- it's a FAST/DIET for him. he admits that if it were full time, it would be amazing. mentality goes a long way- and i balance his diet...

wow- Amen and more yeah- that's right! Bryan- you really hit it dead on. raw to me is like the world between worlds in C.S. Lewis- a safe, stable place to launch into new worlds. but you can't depend on it to be your world. it's a lauching off place. it's nice to have a place where we all can see that.

LOL!!! love this! my son, unfortunately, remembers every spot i ever peed on outside- and always thinks it's cook to announce as we pass- i think the grains are bad, and bad proteins. i've also noticed temperment changes and breath/body odor issues with dog food.

yes- and actually have heard it phrased that way by family members- my grandfather (granted, he's getting old) said he can't believe i look younger every time i see him. i have less worry lines- i work on that. parts of me definately are aging- but my hair is more lustrious and full, my skin clear and smooth, and i feel younger than i did when i was having horrible reactions to my food every

being pregnant was the hardest part- he freaked out about my not eating meat with the first kid- but by the second was easing up- he found out his mom did high soy with him (she kept boasting the high protein made him smart- but never said what until i asked) and he's antisoy. after seeing what my family is doing (diabetes in a cousin my age, obesity, thyroid issues, multiple spine surgeries,

oh- family i just left my folks home and it's always a challenge- i love how they point out that i'm really healthy- but it's not diet my son is never sick- but i feed him weird foods i have health ideas- but i should realize it's only for me, it doesn't work for them and if i did i there way it would be better for all (except i did do it there way and was violently ill for years...)

my husband, after five years of my rawness oozing around him- has gone raw for 40 days and is loving it!!! he's loving the smoothies, the regularness, and i get to make all the foods i've made for myself and share and all the recipes i've wanted to try that he would poo-poo normally and he loves it. i know he's not staying raw vegan- but it is so much fun right now. he's 26 days in,

John- you have the best put-together of the info i've absorbed but not actually taken the time to arrange. THANKS i get weak b/c it seems when i try to research what i know, i get more and more paranoid/skeptical and start to doubt what i know. people and propaganda are rather convincing. thank you thank you thank you- i'm going to return to this thread when i need reinforcement.

cake- never done that but chewy cacao brownies- raw food real world has some amazing looking desserts- i usually don't eat them but for the brownies- raw cacao powder or nibs ground fine 1/2 cup 1 1/2 cup dates 1 cup almonds process together until smooth and sticky- press into cake pan and refrigerate to make it more cakey, a cashew/date/water icing would rock. haven't made one

i prefer whole coconuts (old and young) to coconut oil- but i have found coconut oil a useful addition to some more gourmet raw foods recipes. and it is more consistent then the coconuts we get here in new england... thanks lillianswan for the extensive notes on it. i don't eat it daily, but i won't stop eating it completely at all. i have to say, some people act as if fats are truly ba

Congrats!!! my new little one is three months now, i can't believe she's so big!!! my first little one was breastfed exclusively until 7 1/2 or 8 months, he had six teeth by then and i couldn't keep him from grabbing the food. i used to drop greens on the floor- he'd shove them in his mouth and chew madly and spit out what he didn't want. he loves greens. he hated avocado- but very ripe

when we lived in Santa Fe, NM, we just used a well-washed old screen door spread across two saw-horses. apricots would fall all over (i knocked and asked before fighting off the birds and squirrels for his apricots), and they dried amazingly. grapes would get a little odd and took a long time. apples dried when sliced very very thin- think veggie peeler. bananas always got weird. i liked t

uri- i had a champion for years. i got an omega to do greens with. champions make awesome nut butter- macadamia nut butter and brazil nut butters were my favorite. omega's make nut flour... i miss that. i kept my champion for years after getting the omegas because of the nut butters and actually, sorbets. strawberries make a wonderful sorbet- bananas come out soft-serve from the champ

agree with all of the above- switching fruits and veggies works for me- esp in the summer time i lose veggie tastes and want a lot of watery fruits- like cucumbers and tomatoes. and berries, yum, berries. and smoothies have helped a lot. fasting also isn't a bad idea. i hate those days when i'm HUNGRY and NOTHING sounds good. except bread and cookies. but i remember how crummy those

i craved spinach dreadfully during my pregnancies- i ate 1/2 lb a day for some months. all the iron and nutrients really balance any negative qualities. if you are hungry for it, trust your body. my iron levels always stayed very high during and after pregnancy. this is a nice thing to show off since most people think you need a lot of red meat or grains (fortified) to keep up your iron.
