Agree with the healthy diet tips. But don't forget exercise! Apparently, a study showed that, regardless of actual body shape, runners had the best body image v/v sex of all people; they were the most likely to not be ashamed of their bodies and willing to use them in sexual play.

I absolutely agree that chest pains aren't to be trifled with. To add to that is that you might consider seeing a chiropractor or osteopath. My personal experience both with the 'tight, heavy' chest feeling (particularly when lying down) and poor BMs is that it's always because of my back being 'out'. Best wishes, and good luck! (And see a medical professional!)

OK, this works: Take a cup that you don't mind throwing away - plastic or paper would be fine. Put a little bit of ketchup in it, or a bit of fruit peel if you don't have ketchup. They are attracted to ripe, spoiled, and fermented fruit. Make a cone with a small hole at one end by rolling a piece of paper. Tape it to keep its shape, trim it so it's shortish, and place it, inverted (pointy side

Thank you for your kind words! I had a few bad moments reading some of the responses, until I reminded myself that lovingkindness can express itself in many ways, and can be misunderstood. Just as some folks mistook my lovingkindness expressed as respect for myself and my Maker, I'm sure that I misunderstood some posters' lovingkindness that was expressed as defending their dear friends against w

Wow, I guess I have really hurt and offended some people with my words, and for that I am deeply, truly sorry. I really didn't realise that I was expressing myself so poorly, but I will try to do better in the future. While I cannot in good conscience pray for the original poster's friend, I wish her and all of you the very best, and I am certain you will continue to shine in your personal care,

I started doing a raw food day a week three weeks ago, and since then I've been experimenting with sprouting. I read up on sprouting rice, and learned that while it's easy and healthy, the rice is still too hard to eat raw. Well, I decided to try anyway (born to a family of engineers, lol), and I have had great success with sprouting - and eating - red rice. It sprouts like a dream (despite be

141. Re: Skin!
I have to reiterate my comments about scrubbing and scrubbing implements: they are bad for the face in the long run, because scrubs and exfoliating mitts (and face cloths, etc) age the face by stretching the supple skin, and by causing micro-tears that invite bacterial invasion and can stimulate the inflammatory response of the body. Clean, bare fingers are the best thing to exfoliate with - t

Just a note about scrubbing and using washcloths; both are bad for your skin in the long run. The advice about not over-washing is good, but if you do anything to your face in the morning (besides cleansing) it should be to gently massage with clean wet fingers to exfoliate and gently stimulate. I developed a cleansing regime for the company I work for that is based on personal experience and an

Here's what I do to keep avos fresh, it works like a charm: 1. Keep the pit in the unused half. 2. Put the skin of the used half back on (so it looks kind of like a whole avo). 3. Put the whole thing in a baggie or cling wrap in the fridge. 4. Works like a charm, even without the lime/lemon juice.

I don't have the citations handy, but there is certainly a growing body of studies correlating violent behaviour and sugar/junk food, and in the movie 'Supersize Me', a school was cited as having transformed the behaviour of at-risk youth (it was an alternative school that took kids whose behaviour was too poor for regular school) by removing pop and junk food from the school entirely and switchi

Rather than cranberry juice (which, unless it's a special kind, is full of sugar), try cranberry extract pills, which you can get at most pharmacies and health food stores. Drink a lot of water, and take up to 8 of the cranberry pills (up to 4 at a time) every day. I actually have a fantastic home remedy for UTIs, but it's a bit out there.

Hello from Vancouver, Canada! I'm a longtime vegetarian (former vegan), and I've decided to start having one raw food day a week. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm on a fairly tight budget, so I'll mostly be eating fruit, veggies and raw seeds/nuts from my local grocery store, plus some beans I'm sprouting at home. A question: is tofu considered raw? When I used to make it at home I remember
