thank YOU david, all your pep talks about setting small, reasonably achievable goals (knowing you can speed up/raise the stakes later if you wish) really found a home in me.

i guess it was about a month ago i started logging my food intake into nutritiondata.com and found out that my sodium intake was through the roof, largely thanks to my old friend, nama shoyu. so i decided to see if i could at least keep my sodium levels to the rda, and figured out just how much NS and sea salt i was alloted per day in order to meet that small goal. then i told myself that the bot

both yoga and a raw food diet are about making the unconscious conscious. in that way they are complimentary, as the more practice you have being conscious in one aspect of your life, the more doors start opening to consciousness in all aspects. most people don't give much thought to their breath OR what they eat. the complete approach will not be handed to us on a platter. there is no book,

right on, lanie, i'm glad that was helpful to you. i used to beat myself up and demand so much "perfection" from myself. made me miserable and paralyzed. i have found a major turnaround in my life that coincided with my raw journey... i came to the conclusion that i am a perfect being, and that everything that i have gone through in the past, and everything i am going through now, is ex

hey brian, we've all been there. the raw food path is kind of like yoga... you can't compare your progress to the progress of the person on the mat next to you. its all about being YOU, sometimes joyfully, sometimes painfully. so don't compare yourself to anyone else, or imagine that everyone is effortlessly succeeding where you are struggling/failing. when i slip, i just get back in the saddle a

be lighter with yourself. this is a process... you can't mess it up, you can just keep taking each day at a time. congratulate yourself for discovering and experimenting with the raw food path. how many people even have this in their awareness? we are truly blessed. there are a million tips and tricks, and what works for some people will not work for others. the raw food path is kind of like

cy, i got to HUG mother teresa when i attended a catholic summer camp at age 15. my grandparents sent me, and at the time i was actively rejecting my religious upbringing and couldn't have cared less to be there except i was getting away from my pain-in-the-butt little brothers and meeting all sorts of interesting big city girls who drank and smoked and had sex with their boyfriends, all stuff i

we are lucky to be living in an age where we can give and receive support and friendship and exchange ideas with people who don't live in our community via the internet, don't you think? i think it can only lead to faster elevations in consciousness for greater numbers of people. its thrilling frankly! i consider you and many here my chosen community, and learn from you daily. thanks EZ!

i tried to make some lentil/nut pates but they came out horrible. but all my nut pates come out horrible, so i can't blame the sprouts. i like to toss lentil sprouts with a light curry dressing and just snack away. aren't they fun? and if you grow a bunch of colored lentils together they just look beautiful. also great on spinach salads, etc.

i started making alfalfa and clover sprout smoothies. i have one today that is clover sprouts, cantalope, strawberries, and bananas, and it is super tasty. and talk about cheap greens, i am really impressed with myself. i pay $7/lb for spinach here in maui, and i can make a ton of sprouts for pennies. i rule!
