I ate some packaged raw snacks today. Some GoRaw chips which were awesome and a Prana bar (75%) raw. I'm kinda full and a little bloaty. I don't think I'll eat the rest of the day. Maybe some Chai tea......and water.

Because of this thread I bought come cacao nibs today. The don't have a pleasant taste. Do you think grinding them and putting them in a banana smoothie would make it actually taste chocolately? I may have to put it to the test.

They taste kinda fresh, slightly sweet and tender. I tried making a hummus out of them. Bitter tasting udsng the tahini recipe I used to use with canned chick peas. I tossed it. For me these are best eaten alone. This si what they looked like in the store (in their pods).

Funny thing you posting about the deals on produce. We have some local Mexican markets and the ads were 99 cents for a bag of galas or 5 avocados or 5 oranges. Papaya for 50 cents each. Wowzer! They had birthday cake today at work and I brought a plate of oranges so I would have something in my hand to eat while the others were eating cake! ^5

It sucks to be questioning every aspect of my food intake. Is it too much? Too little? Too much fat? Not enough? Enough vitamins? Do I supplement? What if my nuts aren't raw? Throw them out...or eat them and get raw next time? How long to wait between meals...and what if I'm hungry? I do great with fruit but am diabetic. Does it matter? Entirely too many years of dieting...<screams>....

Hi Sharrhan, Wow way to go! I have yet to make it past day 4 of a juice fast. They are kind of expensive for me. Carrots are cheap, but apples are 50 cents each and it just goes up from there. (grumble). I've looked at the fasting sites and they say to drink a gallon a day. Do you do that? I don't know if I could drink that much. Do you also drink water? I liked doing everything more when I j

Wow it's been 2 months since I was in here. Today was a fruit salad with bananas, oranges, apples & walnuts. Dinner was green leaf lettuce w/ lemon tahini dressing and some walnuts. I know it's too much fat, but it's better than cooked. My goal is to try a new food or simple recipe each week. Crap: The salad made me bloat horribly and I'm still hungry....hmmm... live and learn.

I wish I could jion you at your house in LA. Dang. I miss the sunshine. My vit D blood level is chronically low. Dr. says it's an epidemic because people don't get out in the sun anymore. We haven't see the sun very often coming out of winter. Lots of grey skys and rain. When the sun ever gets here, I'll be out in it. Too bad I'm inside until 6 or 7 pm.

SAD friends keep telling me I should get digestive enzymes, but I think if I'm eating raw I shouldn't need them. I heard papayas are great for digestion and see some in the store, though I need to research to see how to tell if they are ripe.

The only thing you mention that would concern me from what others have said is the cacao. It might be a stimulant to your child? Somethng to think about anyway. I'm happy you are taking positive health steps for you and your baby!

Thanks for the thoughts. I think I will water fast for a couple of days and back to smoothies and salads. :-) It took awhile to get over being so pissed at the whole situation. But the negative energy never does any good, ya know?

Thoughout my health journey there is one thing I continued to enjoy...my morning cup of coffee (sometimes two). Last Monday (May 4th) I had my coffee in hand walking to a meeting at work. I tripped and fell in the hallway....concrete floor covered with indoor-outdoor carpet. The mug fell and broke. I fell on top of the mug. The inside of my right wrist has a 3 inch gash. It took 18 stiches

I was diaganosed with secondary adrenal insufficiency 4 years ago. The endocrinologist said my adrenal glands had failed and I needed to be on cortisone replacement for life or I would die. I ordered my medical ID bracelet, took my daily cortisone, ordered my emergency injection supplies, and when on to feel unwell and gain 60 lbs over the last 4 years. In mid 2008 I began feeling worse by th

Hi Paul, When eating very little, how does one know which raw foods to opt for the best nutritional value? Can you get complete nutrition from lets say for example 800 cals a day? Do you supplement? I loved your post by the way.
